Looking at Naim product history, it looks like their digital products are upgraded on average, every 4-5 years. The CD5XS has been in production for 7 years. Is a replacement player on the horizon?

Hi everybody. I just noticed a soft hissing sound from my tweeters when no music is playing (though system is on). Hissing disappears if I mute the volume. Any ideas anyone?

I see that Naim retailer Tom Tom Audio (one of the very best Naim dealers in my view) is singing the virtues of a new mains block with six outlets, saying it's the best block they've ever heard with Naim equipment. Not very expensive, either. I have to use a six way block so am considering the purchase. Anyone tried it yet?

i was told for a good result of headphones the impedance of the headphone must be 8 times the impedance of the headphone out of the amp. Does somebody knows the out impedance of the naim atom.

I've been Naim customer for 30 years and am just embarking on my final upgrade. I'm starting with nac112/nap150/hicap into SBLs. I love the musicality of the Naim sound. I've enjoyed years of good music from this system but I realise it has flaws that do grate somewhat. Stereo imaging is blurred and one dimensional. There's also a bit of hardness to the treble, which may just be the SBL crossovers failing. Despite the addition of a MicroRendu and Hugo my basic and old LP12 still sounds more...

Possibly a daft question but here goes, does a turntable connect to the two analogue connections on the N272? I have connected the two cables from the turntable to these ports but I get no sound.

OK Naimophiles. I'm going to pick up a new front end, but can't afford CD5xs/XS2 right now. Which combo should I go for, the entry CD player and better integrated, or the better CD player and the entry amp? FWIW, the Nait has sufficient power to frdve my speakers. Thanks in advance.

I posted a request for help in feeding headphones from my NAC72. Having successfully achieved this I thought the method may be of interest. My need was to achieve a headphone outlet for occasional use from my 72/hi-cap/135 setup for not much money. I managed to make up a lead consisting of a 5 pin din to 3.5mm socket and connected this to the 'tape 2 output socket of the 72, I'm not sure if I have left and right correct but can always re-solder. This feeds into my Sennheiser wireless...

I'm looking for speakers for my Hugo-SN2 system. Which would you recommend? At the moment I have Linn Majik 140. My room is around 30 square meters and half of it is open to the second floor. So I guess Majik is the minimum size for my speakers. I'd like to get a bit more resolution and a bit tighter bass. Many thanks.

I have a pair of mk2 SBL and over the last few months I have been toying with a few ideas , the first is to sell and find another speaker altogether , the second ,is to replace the tweeters and buy some replacement grilles , so upon scouring a well known auction site it seems the SBL prices are all over the place, anything from 250-1400 pounds , I don't understand why . Well, after much auditioning I traded in my Superuniti for a N272 and PS555 DR, which are now happily feeding my NAP250 DR. Was going to go for the XPS but when I demo' the 555 it just made everything sound more musical and I got a really good deal on the store demo model. I was actually auditioning for some new speakers to replace my Neat Iotas but decided on the source first. Hi, been lucky enough to get a try of a NAIT3 MM phono/NAP90 from a friend who's upgrading to some monster NAIM streaming rig.
