Who has added XPS DR to a CDS3 and what, if any, improvements did it bring? My XPS2 is due a service so I may just splash out and do the upgrade as opposed to recapping. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi, First question from newbie here, unfortunately because of funds I am buying on spec and secondhand. I have just purchased a Nap 155xs power and a Nac 152xs pre amp. Which cable do I need to connect the two, the power amp came without the necessary cable. This may seem a daft question but if you don't know etc. Do both units have to be plugged in to the mains or will the power amp supply the pre amp? I have just started reading previous posts and a long way to go yet! Any advice very...

I had some good feedback last week on another post of mine and leaning towards a DAC V1. Uncertain about something though. I plan to run my sonos connect into the DAC and then feed that into my 252. I have an LP-12 as well. Can I also use the headphone amp on the DAC V1 to playback music from my LP-12 into headphones? Thanks!

Hi, I'm trying to connect my TV or iPod in the digital Inputs with Toslink or Coaxial on aux1, but it doesn't work. Connecting the iPod on the front panel works, but I don't know, if the signal is digital or analog. I reset it, but nothing changed (Reset: prog + disp) I'm new in the Naim world, maybe I have to program the digital inputs or something else? I tried it, but nothing happened. I al ways appreciate any s ug gestions, thx Eduardo

hi saw your post this morning before going to work had a 5pin to 5 pin interconnect in its box since getting my system about 2 months ago plugged it in before going to work as the cable as never been used before between my NDS and supernait 2/ Hicap came home this evening had a listen to 4/5 tracks and was very impressed with the way it opened up the top mid and bass my speakers are MA 8 silver

It has come to my mind that the importance of the speakers integrating to my room and to my musical preferences have been underestimated. If putting the wrong speaker design into the game (based on above mentioned), no source in the world can make up for that....in my humble opinion of course. I've just borrowed a 250DR from my dealer to see if it's worth swapping out the 250.2 doing service on the bass drivers of my Isobariks. It's basically new so will need some run in time but looks like the 250.2 won't be going back in the rack based on early impressions.

After reading Malcolm Steward's positive review of this mains cable (referenced for Naim use) I remember to ask here if anybody have any experience with this cables and how it compares with the stock Naim cables? Or the Belden 13964 mains cable? Thanks in advance ;)

I took the plunge and have updated my LP12. It's now Radikal/Urika/Keel/Ekos 1/Dynavector TKR. I wasn't going to do it so soon, but Peter et al had a used Radikal/Urika and I couldn't resist it. I've read many things about naim over the years but my budget would never allow me such an indulgence, however I've now got £3 to £4 k to spend. bearing in mind I need to buy cables and mains conditioning I was hoping for some advice. Just had to comment on an old Systemdek I have aquired..Rega RB200 with Origin live structural upgrades..It really amazes me how 3 dimensional this deck sounds..I bought a rega carbon cart for it and am amazed at how it sounds..Other kit Naim Nac 112x nap150x and flatcap 2x.. Just wondered what turntable people prefer sound wise..This deck really does an amazing job..especially in the bass frequencies ' they are layered very nicely.. Just thought I would put it out there..

Hello Guys, Oh dear I just bought an XP5XS to partner my CDXS --and after a week the XP5 PSU has started to hum and this morning it is become a slight "wavering" brmmmm,brmmmmm/etc tried different Powercords/different mains outlet in the listening room--the holding bolt underneath is dead tight /etc-- it is annoying as I live in a rural quiet area with little or no ambient noise. My other Naim PSU--Flatcap XS is super quiet--- any suggestions before I send of for service? Grateful thanks, D41

Hello, just upgraded (two days ago) 5SI to XS2 and i really disappoint, sound lost midbass bass power, became "empty" and too light. I need to turn volume up to 50% on XS2 to achieve 30% loudness of 5SI any ideas what goes wrong ? i'm being shocked. Maybe XS2 needs to be warmed ? system: TIDAL+UQ2+XS2+nac A5+PMC twenty 22 Thanks

Probably a silly question, but, the Naim DAC only needs half of a 555PS -- if you have a pair of 555PSs, can one of them power both a DAC and half of a CD555 at the same time, safely? To good effect? Cannot recall this being asked before -- must have been. Thank you. Nick
