I currently have an ND5 XS/112/150/Flatcap 2 setup but after a fortunate turn of events I have the opportunity to go down one of the following routes (ex-demo):- 1. Get a NAC 272 to replace my 112 - with a view to replacing the 150 in due course. 2. Get a 152 and 155 to replace my 112/150 and work with the ND5 - I quite like the idea of having a full XS system but is this a side-ways step. Simple question - what is the unmarked 4 pin socket to the extreme right on the rear of a NAC42 preamp? I have recently moved my aged system ( NAC42 , Snaps, Nap 140, CD 3.5 and LP 12) to another room as I hadn't really used it for years. On replugging all cables etc which took a while to figure, I noticed this extra output and didn't know what it was. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks.
just been poking around the input boards on my nac52 - couldnt remember what i had fitted when it went back for full service and pots8 etc at the factory a while back looks like all inputs are line level except for the last one which is variable
Current equipment: CD3.5 + Nait5 + Flatcap + Neat Motive SE2 I have PC with a huge FLAC classical music collection, currently using Lexicon Alpha soundcard to Nait 5 , sounds pretty good. Question is , should I buy a better DAC or a stand-alone FLAC player like the Pioneer n50a? Any other options welcome as I know a lot about sound cards for music recording but not a lot about dedicated DAC options
Guys, my current setup is NDX > XPS2 > 282 > HicapDR > 250DR. Im planning to get a Hugo DAC. Shall I retain the XPS2 on my NDX once I acquire the Hugo? Will it bring any benefits to the NDX as a streamer? Thanks for your advice.

Small world. I see we live in the same province in the same country and have a similar system. Specifically - both with NAIM Superline and RP 10 with an Apheta 2 cart. I read your post on load plugs for this set up and, newbie that I am, still don't understand - to put it in simple terms - what plug goes into what hole. Can you help?
The rubber feet on my old but happily used Nac 92 need to be replaced. Any recommendations as to where I might get replacements and can i do it myself or is it a visit to my dealer? I ask as I am moving and will have to seek out a new 'dealer' in due course so being able to do it myself would be much easier! thanks
The overall consensus here seems to be that the superline is OK if powered by a 282, good with a hicap and brilliant with a supercap. Does that alter when connected to a 282 that is itself powered by a hicap i.e. is the performance as good, or nearly as good as with a dedicated hicap?

I would like to connect my Nac A5 speaker cables to a non naim power amp. However, the plugs of the Naca will not fit and I wonder if it is possible to separate the contacts/plugs going in to the amp by sawing through the plastic without destroying the internals of the cables?
sent naim an email but I imagine they are closed over the weekend. cds3 if I were to buy one sh how readily available are the parts for repair if something went amiss not just next year but say for the next 10 ?
My ndx afraid bought in 2012,it's LCD is getting dark. I contacted my dealer at hongkong,they told me to repair the problem will cost a little money,I estimate the cost will be 10% of brand new ndx cost. if the lcd donot display forever,and i could enjoy music with my ndx,even if it's lcd is down. is it possible to setup ndx without the lcd? thanks paul
Due to a severe case of upgraditis around Christmas, following extensive demos, and thanks to helpful insights from this forum, I have settled upon a system consisted of Auralic Aries - Hugo TT - NAP 250DR - PMC 20.23. This to my ears was a substantial upgrade over the Mac mini - Hugo - SN2 system I have had over the last 2.5 years. Other options I considered: 1) 272/250DR: Sounded very good, and a combination I could have easily lived with. However, to my ears, the TT / 250DR combination...
The CD input has just stopped working - no sound at all. Plug the lead into the Tuner input and it works fine. Has anyone got any ideas about this please?! A NAC 102 is worth about £325 now, and I bet a service is £250 so it doesn't seem worth it. Thank you for any replies given!

I am trying to connect headphones to the tape out on my 202. So I have an adapter-- DIN to 4 RCA (2in and 2out) going into the 202 DIN I thought the "out" would work with my headphones but the "in" worked for a while and now neither one works What am I doing wrong? Thanks
Does anyone know if the NAP200 is capable of driving the Totem Forest? Or will it have to be the NAP 250?
Just bought a brand new Cambridge Audio CXC CD Transport and connect it to my SuperNait using a less than 10 dollar Coaxial RCA digital cable bought from Amazon, the result is quite pleasant. And I then switched to a toslink cable made by DH Labs, not sure why, I feel I like the Coaxial one better.
Where to buy them? Who can help in this case? I will be grateful for any informations. regards, Piotr

Just been away for two weeks during which all components were powered down - and actually my dedicated spur was switched off at the consumer unit as well. In switching everything back on I am blowing the surge fuse in the XPS DR. It does not seem to be the on off switch as on my last attempt I left that on and powered up at the socket with the same result - flash of light from the connection point. So I now have a collection of three blown fuses and not much idea why. Any thoughts
Finally finished adjusting my new SME IV on my Gyrodec - after playing around with the VTA for too long I splashed out on the VTA/Damper kit and that made things much easier. Plug for SME - had a problem fitting the kit as one of the holes on the SME wasn't properly threaded and I thought it might all have to go back, but after talking to the SME service department they loaned the correct size tap (very quickly) and I managed to clear the thread without any problems.
