I think i'm right in saying that the Armageddon project was instigated becouse Naim felt that the then top of the range LP12 was holding back development of there own products. My question is, what did these mods consist of?Obviously the power supply...

whenever i have asked you lot about upgrades, the advice has almost always been "get a hicap, stupid". i chose to ignore this because £500 for a power-supply is silly, just ask my girlfriend. so i upgraded my 42.5 to a 72..... and was...

Naim kit is soooo sensitive to its environment!Last weekend I decided something was lacking with my system, despite my not having changed anything. The "presence" (ie. very top end) wasn't there.I checked out my isolation feet (the last time this...

Today I bought a HiCap Olive style 1997. I have it connected to my CD5, and the difference is stunning. The music is now much better, the increase in dynamics is clear, the vocals are much more detailed, and it has given real weight and drive to bass...

Hello, I understand that the 32.5/SNAPS can drive headphones [not perfectly, but pretty good, and definitly better than the headphone output of a CD player]. I propose to feed it from the tape-output of an 82 [I will have to try to figure out the connections]. I am thinking of getting some decent headphones and I am considerring Sennheiser HD-650 .... Questions .... a) has anyone used / is using them with 32.5 b) any other suggestions for headphones ? c) I don't want any solution that...

gHunter said: quote: Geoff, looking forward to hearing why you think the XPS2 is a better upgrade than the Supercap2, Geoff. You've had a lot of good things to say about the Supercap2, so the XPS2 must be really amazing! Graham Benr said: [QUOTE] Geoff, it will be very interesting to what you think when the xps2 arrives, my advice is hook it up, then listen to it for a few days then take it off and see what happens, I think you will be surprised, Ben r[QUOTE] You asked so here it is!! I installed a certain mains line conditioner in my Naim system earlier in the week. Despite the general consensus against line conditioners with Naim electronics, I thought I'd give this unit a go because it works in parallel with the line, not in...

Are there any audible sonic differences between the Naim CD5 - with or without PS and the Naim CD5i?I have an aquaintance who has just brought a CD5i from the UK and claims he bought it because it was better than the CD5 with Flatcap???? Hard to believe.

As mentioned in another thread, I'm on the lookout for a CD player to replace a Quad 66.It would be used with a Nait5 and Intro's.I've seen/been offered a CDi for £450, serial is 804** which seems to make it 92/93, all manuals/packaging/leads...

I am looking to replace my B&W CDM1NTs with a compact floorstander that can be near (i.e. 15-20cm) from a rear wall...the B&Ws are not really suited to my room. I'm not sure about the Arriva (have only heard pre-prod model in Heathrow show last yr and wasn't overly impressed). Has anyone any comments on the Rega Ela as from the docs and stuff I've read it may be perfect for me (and I like the price ) Any advice most appreciated. -- woody
