HiWell it's the big four-oh this year, so I'm going to treat myself. My current system is:LP12/Ekos1/Lingo2/AkivaCDX52/Supercap250 (olive)SBL's (1989 with bass/mid driver upgraded)Now, I know the CDX is a weak link, so an upgrade to that is going to...
Here is one for you, given this setup what in your opinion out there would be the next move...assuming allaes as speakers ? anybody tried this scenario ?? much appreciated
My system is currently: CD5/Nait5/FC2/Rega P25/MF X-LPS/B&W CDM1NT I am considering the following upgrade roadmap: 1. Buy NAP250 to use as poweramp with Nait5 as pre 2. Buy NAC282 and sell the Nait I think I'll keep the CD5 (powered by the FC2) and the speakers/TT/phonostage for now (listen mainly to CD) and upgrade to CDX2 and possibly speakers will form the next upgrade. Any thoughts/comments on this? Cheers -- woody
WhaTS THE PERCIVED WISDOM ON THE 202, I HAVE A 112 AND THOUGHT THAT THE 202 MIGHT BE A SUITABLE PLACE TO START,THIS WOULD THEN FORM A REPLACEMENT FOR MY 112/HI INTO MY 180Ta in advanceAnselmall art is contemporary; it is the way we look at it that ...
Source First ????I have never been a proponent of this philosophy, but others swear by it. eg little Kan speakers on the end of a CDS3/552/500 system.Would this philosophy apply to audio-visual kit.....eg a £1000 DLP projector/screen (or tv set)...
Sigmund Memberposted Tue 09 March 04 17:02 I'm the proud and original owner of a Nait 2 integrated amp. On and off, I think about sending it in to be checked out and serviced as needed. A couple of years back, I spoke with a tech at the Chicago site...
Does anyone out there have any opinions on arms of a more reasonable price for LP12: Ive seen the likes of the ARO and various Linn arms get the thumbs up, but what about for example the Bluenote U3 or the Roksan Nima, arms much more in my price...

I am in the process of upgrading from a Nait 3 to the 112/150 combination. I have NACA5 speaker wire going from the Nait to my Spendor S100's, but this is a single wire set. I'm currently using a single strand of wire as a jumper for the tri-wire...
Hi,Seeing as all the smaller ATC speakers appear to be being talked about right now, I thought I would ask if anyone has had experience with these speakers?I guess it means I could sell my NAP150 and just get a DIN to dual XLR cable and run them from...
Is this a very dumb question or is it possible to add an external power supply to my CD3?
I've now got a fully blown Mullet system, and it has never sounded better. The front end, a relatively lightweight CDX / CDPSThe back end, a very heavyweight high-end pair of loudspeakers, the Ergo III'sFlat earth types everywhere look on in horror......
I'm looking for a rack or shelf suitbale to my Naim gear to be used on top of a cabinet or furniture shelf. Floor standing rack need not apply. I'm thinking of something 10" - 12" high with three shelves (5" - 6" apart), about 18" wide, 14" deep (or...
Having spent several months moving my speakers around gradually to try to eliminate a Room mode (boom) problem (unsuccessfully), I started thinking about the effect of the wall/speaker interface. OK, we all know that moving a speaker closer to a wall...
My CDX is nearly 3 years old and wondered what is done about lens cleaning, if anything.I presume there would be a build up of grime on the lens.I live in a non smoking houshold.

Greetings. I am kicking around the idea of adding a hicap to my Nait5. I need a better of understanding of exactly why the hicap has a two cable connection to the Nait with an input and output. I can understand why there is an input signal into the...
Hi,Anyone know if it's possible to use a Nait 5 and 150 in a bi-amped config? One of the Naim recommended upgrade paths for a Nait 5 is to add a 150, but that completely bypasses the Nait 5's power stage. As that seems somewhat wasteful to me, I was...
Hi all,Just received my CDX2 and Hi-cap2 last evening. It sounded really good (in the few hours i had to listen) so can't wait till it burns it completely!Traded in my CD5 and flatcap2. Since the flatcap2 was connected to both the CD5 and 112, had an...
MuchachosI must preface this by making it ABSOLUTELY CLEAR that this is not aimed at anybody. Many people travel along the Yellow Brick Road by means of second hand kit. There are various places to find this, eBay, Pink Fish, Loot etc.One method seems...
I'm on the hunt for a phono stage.I have to say that the K cards in the 52 are performing far better than expected however RFI has become an issue since upgrading from an 82. As RFI was known to be a problem with earlier Prefixes, I'm keen to know if...
HiI'm looking to buy 135s to replace my 180. Has anybody heard the difference between 135s of differing vintages? I hear that the transformer supplier was changed in 1990, after which the sound became a little harsher? Anybody done the comparison? Thanks
Hi guys, Need some advice for equipment placement on Fraim. Just got the fraim yesterday, I am just about to start to assemble them. I have got 2 bases and 2 shelves each. I am thinking about placing the boxes as follows: Rack 1 CDSII NAC82 XPS Rack...
Hi guys,Sinde technical questions are not really my strengths I'd like to know what exactly a heavy load is. Is it about the amps ability to deliver enough power for a specific loudspeaker? It is often said that Naim amps tend to have problems with...
