Does the Michell clamp work on an LP12 or not?

Has anybody out got much experience with shielded mains cables? Several dealers have said these are a worthwhile upgrade but as total cost will be £400+ any thoughts or experiences would be much appreciated. I will be using them with NAC 52/NAP...

Hello, I have a new pre-amp with a HiCap and have the option of putting it in a closed [large] box. Is this safe [I will bore you at the end of the message with the -- you can skip -- details]. I have a 102/180 and I was wondering if it would be worth getting another 180 and running a bi-amped configuration. I suppose the other option is to sell the existing 180 and use the money to buy a 250.Any comments or suggestions?

I am buying a new [actually second-hand] pre-amp and it only has moving coil phono inputs. [My record deck is Linn-Axis + Rega-Bias which is moving magnet]. I have decided to upgrade my deck to moving coil [the other option is replace the boards in the pre-amp]... But, out of curiosity, I am wonderring 'can i just put in attenuators and feed the moving magnet into the moving coil input'. Has anyone tried it ?? James

[sorry] I am buying a nac-82 with 1 hi-cap but now I have the option of 2 hi-caps [all secondhand] and have decided to get two [so why am i asking ???]. My question is/are .... What does the second hi-cap do ... does it just power the vinly sections ?? If so ... does it improve CD when NOT playing vinly. Thanks ..... James
