Just saw this news on what hi-fi about the Ultima amplifier I would love to be able to hear this, even if I don't quite understand the way it looks. I am more used to the way my Nap 250 DR looks.... However I can't afford either the Chord Ultima or the Naim statement, but am genuinely curious about the Chord etude amplifier. Has anyone heard one yet?

Today me and my wife went to my favorite hifi shop and hear if we would be in the market updating oue Superuniti. Well first one was Athom nice for such a small box but for sure no update virus yet. Hello, I would like to share my thoughts on adding a flatcap XS to naim Cd5Xs Cd Player. I am using standard lavender naim interconnect. I have shahinian arc speakers. First I tried a Madonna Cd on its own. I particularly like the track Rain. When I listen to this track without the flatcap Xs it always sounded good to me but I never heard how much better it could sound. I have been looking for an improvement to my 272/555DR into my ATC Active 40's but I didn't want any more boxes so a ND555 and separate Pre-amp were out of the question and budget. I purchased a used Nap 300 back in the summer and found it to be a rather disappointing experience. It just didn't have the pep of even my modest SU. Wallowing bass and rolled off highs compared to the SU. I wondered why I had bought the thing! Hi, Sorry to begin by posting a problem, I suppose I must be doing something wrong. I have just bought a NAC 62 Ser No: 55252 and a Hicap Ser No: 181385 to partner a NAP 150 I purchased some time ago. I can play my turntable when the NAC 62 is connected directly to the NAP 150 using the blanking plug and 4 pin snaic. However, when I connect through the Hicap all I get is silence. I am not sure that i can name this as inversion of the polarity: my speakers cables are connected like that: right from the amp to the left speaker and left to right. I feel that my system is better sounding like this, it is more free and congested. Anyone had this experience? is it problematic to do that? Perhaps it’s just my imagination to feel it’s better sounding like that?

Hi all , I know there has been a little on this on the forum but slight deviations in question. Just in the process of upgrading from MM to MC. not sure what cartridge yet. I'm running an LP12 into a NAC 32.5 with high cap then into a NAP250. Ive got two bids running at present on a Stageline S and 323-5 Moving coil boards. What are the main reasons that people choose floorstander speakers instead of bookshelf speakers (or vice versa)? I have noticed that some people on the forum have a preference for one type v the other. I always assumed that florstanders are superior to the bookshelve ones but it seems I may be mistaken. At the same time I am also looking to replace my current Focal 714 with better speakers so dont want to discount the bookshelves (on stands) during my search for the wrong reasons.

Has anyone heard the lower order B&W standmounts? E.g. 705, 706, 707 S2? They seem to bring out a lot of products....

Borrowed a Powerline from my dealer to try with my Nova/Dynaudio Special 40. its a bit of a mixed blessing. Instruments, especially bass are better focused and a lot tighter. I can hear things that were previously undetectable. However some vocals sound a bit too mellow which loses some of the drama of the performance.( Hard on Jim Morrison but the rest of the band sound great ) I’ll keep the cable as I listen to a lot of jazz and classical which are improved.

I currently have a nait 5i and cd5i and i need new speakers. I tried a pair of neat motive sx2 small floorstanders and really liked them. However id like something a little bigger physically. Any suggestions for a full size floorstander?

How good is the Atom as pre fronting a much higher spec system. Compared to a 282 or 272. Any experience of it doing this.What limitations does it show up. Thanks

After adding a CDX2 to my system few days ago, XPS will be connected to it as it was planned long time ago. Then will be time of adding a new PS to 272, I saw many comments here about that, but would like to be able to decide quickly where to go, taking into consideration the cost/performance ratio. Thanks
