I'm looking for suggestions for active loudspeakers to go on the end of a 172XS using Tidal as the primary source. I accept that there will be some compromises in SQ compared to the 250.2 - Kudos C10s but I'm just mulling over ideas at the moment.

In the context of a CDS2 with XPS2 through Exposure amps what could I expect in upgrading XPS to dr version. Is it an improvement and if so worth the expense.

Just having a ponder into which were the last naim amps to house the famous Holden and fischer transformers...I had a Nait 2 many moons ago that had one in..What make are naims current transformers..??

Until recently I was using a Musical Fidelity X Ray cd player. CD'S are not as important to me as my vinyl but sold the x ray with the aim to buy a Naim cd player to match the rest of my system. My current system is LP 12.Ittock,Cadenza Red. Original XS amplifier and Flatcap 2x. I see a CD5 for auction. Appreciate thoughts on adding this to my system and what would be a fair price to bid to. Doing preparatory work before a demo ... Currently have LP12 at Majik level but with a Krystal cartridge. Have a demo booked in for December to hear what an Ekos arm does. I've had a 250dr/n272 streamer for a little over 6 months and was mated to b&w 804d3's for around the same amount of time. I recently sold and swapped in the 803d3's and while I'm very impressed with the 803's I can't help but feel they are under powered at times. I never got that feeling with the 804's. Finally bit the bullet and removed the trampoline 2 base that a very well known lp12 fettler put on my aro equipment deck a few months ago What a relief ..back to a much wider and detailed sound again .. Should mention the deck is on a tigre paw valkan wall shelf (excellent product) and has been for quite a while Has anyone else been really disappointed with the "boxed in" sound that any sort of base seems to add to a 12 ? Or am I the only one a base doesn't work for!

I only use one source input on my NAC282 - "Tuner" to connect my ND5XS. I also have my Headline 2 plugged into the "Tuner" output socket. Normally I have the "Tuner" output for the headphones muted. The pre-amp is only one month old. When I want to listen through the headphones I take the "Tuner" output out of mute. Sometimes this causes the tuner source mute button to flash. Went to Preston today to audition a 152xs on my flatcap 2x and found it thin and grainy compared to my 122x ..Power amp was a nap200... Hi all, i've had a 9 year old Superline for the last 6 months or so and love it. Over summer I lost a channel and had to return to Naim for repair. Hi Folks I've just acquired a pair of Naim Credos for less than £200 (dating from 2000). It was a bit of a whim really to see how they fared against my Shahinian Compasses on the end of my CDS3/555/252/250DR system. They've been a real eye-opener, and I love them! Hi, Planning to go active and reduce the amount of boxes in my hifi-rack. I currently own a 172xs (great product), hence looking for some nice compact active speakers. Beolab 3 with a Beolab 2 sub is on the radar however it seems like the sub requires a 12v trigger out signal from the pre. I've been looking for that connector at the back of my 172, but can't find one. Any ideas on how to solve this? Grateful for suggestions! Br K

Hi all, anyone having experienced the UnitiQute (first edition) display deteriorating to such an extend that is becomes almost unreadable? It seems like it doesn't have enough power to go beyond the minimum brightness? Would this be a hardware malfunction or am I overlooking some setting?
