Hi all,Considering buying the pre, has anyone try the 202 with NASPC and 282 which come with NASPC. currently I am going to partner with NAP 200, really want to know how significant is the difference. I don't care the balance volume and few more...
I can't seem to locate the length of warranty information for my 202 and NAPSC in the owner's manual. Am I missing something, and more importantly, what is the warranty length? No problems, thankfully - just curious.
The NACA5 was taken out from the amp and speakers terminals, moved and now I'm not sure which end to which (on the rush of moment, forget to do markings on it). And couldn't find any arrows on the cables. Anyone please help if it's possible to...
i hope this post doesnt appear more than once -- have been having problems posting. lets try one more time:Reading one or 2 posts in the thread “what records do you keep playing” got me scurrying to our loft to retrieve my vinyl copy of...
I have learnt a couple of things about the bargain I can get.I know it's old... I know it's a good buy... I know it's a gamble... I know that it can't be brought up to latest specs... ButCan anybody show me what a 1977 NAP250 looks like? Thanks from a...
I wonder if anyone can tell me which way is best to place your equipment on a 5 teer stand. my equipment consists of cd5, flatcap 2, pure 701 tuner, 72,140. I was thinking of cd5 at the top then 72pre, tuner, flatcap 2 & 140power on the bottom. Thanks liam
Just wondering if anyone out there knows what the differences are between the two pre-amps?As far as I can ascertain, the 72 replaced the 32-5 in 1989. Both were top of the line machines for a while there and some (all?) of the 72 boards can be...
I just received my prefix (S type) back from being modified to the new standard. The modification wasn't expensive and the sonic gains are significant! Well done Naim!More dynamic but smoother, clearer, better tonal color, images are rock solid and a...
RichardI think I saw on another thread the suggestion that a separate forum be set up dedicated for AV. I strongly support such a suggestion.I am in the market to upgrade to an AV system but am a complete novice and would welcome ideas and thoughts...
Hello all,Have trawled through the forum regarding the above. They seem to get fair to good reviews, main problem areas seem to be positioning and power required. They are rather expensive (for me) and I wonder if my 180 is capable of driving them - I...
Within the next few weeks I intend to phone my local dealer and ask him to keep his eyes open for a pre-owned or ex-dem CDX. I have been saving up for ages now to buy one, and its now just round the corner.I have been advised on this forum by many of...
I have a question about MP3 stuff. As I understand it, the files available on the internet are (aside from possibly being illegal) low in quality principally because of compression/lack of bits. That said, suppose I wanted to transfer standard redbook...
Hello , I have got a CDX/Nac52/Supercap/Nap180/BW803 and intend to change my amp.I don't have enough money to buy a Nap300 , so I have the choice between Nap135 or a New 250.What is your opinion? The following upgradings will be XPS2, and then perhaps...
Hello,Just to let everyone know, Hi-Fi News October 2003 has a review, including lab tests, of the new CDS3. My copy arrived in the post today (subscription) so it may not be in the shops for a couple of days. The review is certainly worth looking at...
Hi there,I was after a few opinions on a Naim CDS (with CDPS) which my friend has offered me. The predicament is that they are both from 1990 and have at no point made their way to the Naim service department. The machine itself works fine, and is in...
The time has come, well nearly, to replace my Troika which has had its day. I am looking for a sweet, smooth, snappy cartridge with good vocal presence and emotion. Reduced surface noise would be a bonus and it has to fit an Ittok (medium mass). The...
I have been castigated four times in the past 24 hours since my posting on help with a tweeter on an SBL. Apparently it is against some law of nature to use a NAIT 3 with a pair of decent speakers. So far I have not been able to work out if it is...
or, move over TW Riders there's some new kids in town...Friday night started as normal, in the PoW. A pint of Nethergate Augustinian (disappointing) followed by Swindon's second finest, Archers Golden (excellent) (Swindon's finest being, of course,...
Help, for the love of god help. I have just aquired a pair of passive SBL's. Curious as to why they were not sounding up to par I investigated and found that one of the tweeter pods was silent. Carrying out suitable tests, pswapping crosspvers etc. I...
Hi After having some advice hammered into my head of late, I am in the process of ditching a Rotel amp combo and replacing them with the Nait 5. This inturn will work with my CD5 and B&W602S3 speakers. What is the best avenue for me to take from here. Power amp for the Nait? (if so, which one?) FC2 for the CD5? Both? As you can see, there are so many options for me to take. I don't mind adding as I go, but I don't really have that much wedge to do it all in one go. Thanks
Driven by the recent death of my Dynaco st-70 tube unit and a reluctance to continue to rescusitate it through the application of more money, I set out to find an olive 250. System is LP12/3.5/72/hicap/apogee centaurus minors. I've had a 250 before...
I have just received from a friend abroad, what appears to be a Naim Newsletter called "News Summer 2002" It has some interesting info about the SL2 speakers, 552 preamp and an AV2 Home Theater decoder. On reading the av2 article, in paragraph 8 it...
Hi,My newly acquired CD2 has died and I have to take it back to Salisbury. On packing it up I find I have a shaped white piece of packing - it looks like its from the CD drawer, but I have no idea how it fits...!!! Anyone know how it...
