Dear All; I want to change my Speakers as the final faze of my setup. No i can not do home demo, maybe i can hear Focal Sopra 2 with a Naim setup but not 272/300DR. My room will be 40Square meter roof top with a 1,7 inclination. My current speakers are Sonus Faber Cremona M which i like very much with classical, jazz, acqustic music but lacks behind with rock and electronic. I want a all rounder with a little bass present. Due to my special relationship with my dealer i am restricted to...

Hi guys, I remember to have read a topic where people discussed about the possibility to introduce some problem connecting at the same time more sources (CD player, blu ray, streamer e.g.) in the integrated amplifier. At the moment I have a SN2 with CDX2.2 and I noted that when only the CDX2.2. is connected, the sound seems clearer and with a better soundastage rather than when all my sources are connected at the same time. I’m getting “crazy” or there is something true in what I hear? May...

Hi All, For info my current system is a CD5i-s, NaitXS with a FlatCap XS, and a pair of ART Emotion Monitor speakers. Whilst it sounds great (the speakers in particular are very special) i am having some issues with the remote control. Basically it works fine for the CD, but the volume control doesn’t seem to work with the amp. I have tried switching the mode by pressing the “rec”, “sub”, “pre”, “tun”, and “cd” buttons and these seem to work as I can switch the remote off of CD mode. However...

Hi, I've been lucky enough to pick up 2000 nac 52. Because my main source in a cds2 and I do not use LP (yet), I read I should remove the phono boards. Is that something I can do easily enough by myself, if so how would I go about it? Also the factory cd default CD input. Is that as good as any other Eg the end Aux input. Socket 6 Thank you for your time.

Please find below some of the great articles the New Uniti range received on its first public introduction day ! POCKET LINT "Naim has just announced its redesigned the Uniti all-in-one systems range, and boy do they look good. " http://www.pocket-lint.com/new...phisticated-and-sexy T3 "Once you hear the Atom in operation, it's easier to be swayed however, as the mix of very high build quality and excellent heat management wrings the best possible sound out of its 40-bit digital signal...

Hi all, any suggestions how to tame down Mu-So Qb bass volume? At slightly more enthusiastic volume the bass gets quite overbearing - both in the close-to-wall and away-from-wall setting. Moving around the box doesn't solve the issue either. The problem is more prominent with lower quality streams (Spotify Connect using premium service) than with uncompressed FLAC files.

I just received my pair of SL speaker cables only to find out they sit too loose in their sockets, to such an extent that they are about to fall out. My dealer tells me the production is on hold after Naim noticed the problem as well. Would this mean they have changed the make of the plugs? What are your experiences with the plugs? Certainly an issue of poor quality control, given the stated level of these cables. To me this comes after I also returned a faulty and brand new N-272 the other ...

I connected DVD5 to tv via Scart cable and it was fine, (audio to Nait XS with Snaic 5 of course) Then i changed connection for a better quality with DVI to HDMI cable, actually since the cable was too short, i had to put an extension but doing so, the video qualiy was totally unacceptable with layers of blue/green on images. I 've been told that DVI to HDMI is not a good idea for video quality. Is it true or there is a specific setting to do on the player to do ? Regards Roberto

People are now spending £1,000's on interconnects whose main virtue, beyond passing the electical signal, appears to be rejection of external electrical noise. This seems a little unbalanced to me. Surely there has to be a better engineering solution. Are we at the point where the next generation of Naim analogue electronics should feature balanced connections? If it costs under £200/unit to go balanced, this would be both cheaper & more elegant than spending vast sums on esoteric,...

Can anyone recommend the best place to get my speaker cable connectors soldered?

Just out of curiosity: if one is using a second HCDR on a 282, how does one connect both to one 250? Just one output socket must be used of course, but would it be indifferent which one? Wouldn't one of the two HiCaps be left orphan of its proper ground/signal return? Thanks for an explanation, M

Hello everyone, I would like to change my feet on SBLs avoiding spikes or something like this. In fact I would to bring ou low frequencies too controlled and "light" in my opinion. The speakers are close to the rear wall and I have ultimated the setup with silicone, new gasket kit and so on... Any advice for that? Thanks in advance, mark

Each of the Naim product pages has a closup of somepart of a related product. I don't think I can match the image shown at the top of https://www.naimaudio.com/power-supplies to any of the known power supplies. Seems to have a central heatsink like the NAP500 (which the NAP500PS doesn't and air vents at the top too. What exactly are we looking at here?

I am currently listening to the Chord Epic, freshly soldered with Naim plugs at the amp side and bananas at the speaker end. I have to say, the difference between the Chord Epic and Naca5 is not subtle at all. They sound very different! I was not expecting a significant difference between these speaker cables but it's really an eye (or ear) opener for me. I have to say, I am surely leaning toward the Chord Epic at the moment. Just tried some tracks and the Chord Epic is more open and...

After moving house and setting up my system in a completely new listening environment I was rather disappointed!! After being mothballed for 7 months I was itching to get some music up and running again. I have had a dedicated consumer unit and unswitched mk sockets installed and the room seems well damped. My system is xs separates with ndac and flatcap xs powering the pre. Neat motive 2 speakers. Initial set up was a little hasty with cable dressing a little sloppy. The speakers firing...

Spent a few days trying to get to grips with my new superlumina speaker cables. Not sounding too good at first as my ears adjusted to the 'new' presentation. All a bit thin and lacking proper bass. Oh dear the dreaded 'burn in'. Still not happy after a few days but I know I need to be patient. Back to it tonight but still all not well as the right speaker is definitely dominating the sound. But before I plug the Nac A5 back in, I carry out a few basic connection checks... and whoops!! looks...

when it comes to Europe, wouldn't it be better to provide the pack with a plug adaptor (of course properly selected one) instead of these dubious Furutech plugs on EU versions, especially that decoupling does matter so much? European patrons could at least be given an option as to which plug they want there Power-line to have.

Hi everyone, finally a saturday off, girlfriend away for the day... so what do I do? I turn on some music! But Sound was off. Way off. The right tweeter on my Allaes seems to have died -.- Has anyone ever had this happen? I tried hooking up the crossover to the other speaker and the crossover seems to be working ok. I also checked if one of the cables was broken, but the signal seems to be going through. Does anyone have any experience here? Are these still available or is this an unmodified...

I don't know if this belongs in the Hifi Corner, but at least it's related to audio. How good are the Samsung Galaxies regarding the 3.5mm headphone output? Anyone using one for music? I only know the iPhone 5s and like listening to it with a pair of Etymotics. The iPhone is a company phone and I'm considering to buy my own smartphone. The iPhone SE would be the natural choice but I thought I'd ask what the Android world has to offer and Samsung seem to make some popular phones. KR Jochen

Hi folks Back after quite a long absence from the forum. I've never taken streaming or similar at all seriously simply because the internet in our home is so appalling. Typically less than 1MB (sometimes nothing at all). It's a price paid for living in a fairly remote location. On the up side, my nearest neighbour is 500 yards away (when he's at home ). This means that I have remained faithful to vinyl. Very happy with this as vinyl was always a much preferred medium compared to say, CD.

I've just bought a Witch Hat Servicing cable to go between my 250DR and SCDR. HH and others have spoken well of them. Now I know why - a very good value upgrade in my view. (Interestingly the first thing I noticed was that the image is completely centred with the 252 balance dial at 12 o'clock; I won't bore you with the details but I'd always had to play a bit with the balance before. No need now.) Anyway, I would wax lyrical at greater length, but I'm listening to Leonard Cohen for a while.

As some of you may know who've read my posts before, I am blind and therefore have some special needs when it comes to software, etc - I use a screen reader. So I've been trying out various music players on my PC to find one that is accessible - no joy, all I had issues with in terms of accessibility when trying to manage/navigate through music collections/libraries or whatever else they like to call it in their little world. ... but we get so focused on stuff that we fail to sometimes take...
