Sorry for the basic question here. I'm running a NAC112 / NAP150 with a Flatcap. I see that NAC282's are generally supplied with a NAPSC. My NAP150 does provide power out and the Flatcap has two outputs. What do I need to run a 282 with the current setup? Thanks

Got my NACA5 from the NAP180 to the Neat speakers in an F connection arrangement. Been advised to use NACA5 links between the speaker's double binding posts and then connect the positive to the tweeter's end and the negative to the bass ones. NACA5 is a pig to solder to Naim plugs as you know and I'm not too keen to try it out just for kicks. Any substantiated ideas on the matter? Cheers

Hi there, I am currently using a Bryston 4bsst2 Power Amplifier, my question is in regard to on/off procedure. I currently turn off and on my power amplifier via a powerboard switch, I do not turn on or off my amplifier using the switch on the amplifier but instead use my powerboard to turn on and off my amplifier. I was wondering whether or not by turning on/off via my power board is it damaging my amplifier as opposed to using the switch on the amplifier. Thanks

Bonkers, maybe... My c.14 meter run of NACA5 is juuuust too short for use in my new place. I'm considering new cables but >28m won't be cheap. So... As odd as it might sound, what about having two c.1m lengths made up; each with a male and a female end, so that I have effectively extended the NACA to the required length... TIA MIke

Will there be any issues if gold plated DIN plugs are on the inputs of the NAC 282?

Not changed my speakers for nearly 30yrs and feel my system is easily capable of something better (currently Kans II) - looking for a bit more bass clout and nice musical soundstage - no need to blow the walls off volume wise............ Due to space etc. I have at the moment decided to try to audition the following:- Neat SX2 / SX1 - Kudos X3 - PMC Twenty5 25 23 The ones which would best fit - would b Neat / Kudos I wonder if anyone here has any opinions before I contact a dealer........ ?

Hi, I am about to be an owner of a Superuniti, it will be my first Naim product (second hand) There is a lot of conflicting advice on this forum about leaving-on vs. turning-off. I would like a definitive answer as to whether it is OK to use a Wemo Insights switch to automatically turn off the amplifier at night time, and back on again in the morning. This will of course be bypassing the proper switch on the back of the Naim device. Thank you

These list prices here in Italy: Uniti Atom € 2.199 - ( Uniti Qute2 € 2.290) Uniti Core € 2.299 - ( Uniti Serve € 3.900) Uniti Star € 3.900 - (Uniti2 € 5.350) Uniti Nova € 5.390 - (Superuniti € 6.450) but it will be really a step forward compared to the classic series having a lower cost? Naim is saving on the quality of components or what? perhaps the brexit are showing favorable for us out of the British borders

Hi I was wondering whether any one has tried the flatcap power supply? I have NAC 272 streamer and 250DR amp with NACA5 speaker wire. My thought is to save money and purchase the cheaper power supply for the streamer on Ebay, as any one done this and what are their thoughts? Ricto

Always use Naim stock power cable. Tried Powerline but didn't feel the subtle difference warranted the outlay. I remember many moons ago that Naim always used Crabtree plugs on their power cables. I believe Crabtree no longer manufacture plugs and Naim switched to MK. I pondered on this (as is my wont) and found new Crabtree plugs on ebay. Rewired my cable to the NAP 250DR expecting little change. How wrong I was......the sound is more open and dynamic, soundstage more transparent,...

Just wondering if anyone has compared serviced 112x with flatcap 2 (2x) only powering the pre amp or change to a Nac 202 run by the 150x ?? Is that possible ?? ...How good is the 202 standalone...I have aquired a lp12 and will be getting a stageline at some point so I can use it..but use a computer with a Naim DAC most of the time which I love..I have the upgrade bug and wonder if the 202 is that much better with analogue as people seem to think on the forum.. Any comments appreciated

hi all, i will get new naca5 as current is only 3m and needs better termination. Will go for richard/naims recommendation of 5meter. i have seen pics of people dressing surplus naca5 so they run in parallel lenghts rather than rounds up. Which spacers/holders do u guys use for that so all the excess cable does not go all over the place? tjx Lars

I just got a Nait 5i and some NAC A5 cables so it's time to find a matching pair of speakers. I've a read a lot about Neat, Proac, Dynaudio etc and my question is to the forum members who have experience with Heavy Metal rock/punk music in general. My cd collection consists of 80's produced titles (with good dynamic range, not compressed) in the likes of Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer,Anthrax, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Exploited, GBH, Ramones, Bad Religion etc just to give you an idea and...

The Naim Green light on my NAP200 has gone off today. I have read the manual and was not above 70c. I know you can turn the display on the NAC's on or off but I don't think you have this option on the NAP200 so I don't think I have done this accidentally. Any ideas?

Hi, Now I'm finally in a position that I feel comfortable with. I'd like to start thinking about ugrades. I'm looking for more refinement now. More natural sound. Hugo & XS2 can be a bit grainy and no quite as expressive as I would like at times. A warm tinge but is also quite fresh/cool. When I added a Flat Cap XS previously, that was a good addition but not for 1k. I'd like to go slightly warmer, smoother, subtler with more expressiveness. And low level listening with a wholesome beat,...

Can anyone suggest an aerial installer conversant with FM radio requirements covering the Waltham Abbey (edge of Essex) area please? I hesitate to use the word ' recommend ' as opposed to suggest because I recognise the associated responsibility should things not go as one would hope. All my enquiries made to listed installers have so far have resulted in negative responses such as don't bother because of FM shutdown and move to DAB . Well I have some DAB radios and they're not too bad...

I have introduces a NAC202 pre-amp into my system (Unit2/NAP200/LINN LP-12/Stageline) but can't get any sound from the turntable. CD, Radio etc from the Uniti2 sounds great but nothing from the stage line which is connected to the powered aux socket on the nac202 (only one it fitted). Any ideas? It worked perfect with just the uniti2/NAP202/Stageline. Thanks,

I really need to move on from the 2 metal/glass Sound Organisation racks in my study. Since replacing my 250 with a 300DR, the left hand rack has become so heavy that I can hardly lift it to put it back into its normal position. So, what I need is a decent hifi rack of the stacking variety, so that I can load one shelf, connect up the gear on it before pushing it right back on the shelf, then put the next shelf on top, etc. etc. This would save wear and tear on my ageing back. However, the...

Having just had my new 250DR properly settle down after nearly 3 months I wonder 'why the peaks and troughs?'. Some days sublime and others thin, flat, edgy and shut-in. The amp now sounds rich, spatious and transparent almost always - still occasional dips but now, say, 90% of the time superb. Reading others views regarding their DR upgades, particularly the 500, the above seems a consistent experience. If left on 24/7 why do the amps not simply continue to improve from switch on? G

Anyone else here tried these on the end of a half decent system? Just for a laugh I stuck a pair on the end of a CD5X, Exposure XX super integrated, Sara stands and NAC A5. All I can say is OMG. Hi Fi - definitely not, coloured - yes, boxy - yes, but the MUSIC: oh my! I still haven't put my Mk1 Kans back; too busy grinning.

Hi Guys, My current turntable is a RP6 with a Hana cartridge which is great but I can't stop wondering if a LP12 is better, so I have booked a demo on the weekend to see. What option should I go down and what are people's thoughts??? Do I go new/used or keep my RP6??? My wife just wants me to have a demo and make my mind up as I keep going on about buying a LP12.... Thanks in advance.

Hi, My V1 appears to have developed a mind of it's own, muting and unmuting continually. Any other owners had a similar issue? (I've tried rebooting it and also forcing the firmware to reload, which it deals successfully) i guess it's going to be a visit to the dealer, let's hope they have a demo unit to load
