It's a 1999 model and on average, it's used for about 3 hours per week. For the last two days it's playing up. Music goes quiet intermittently and then continues playing - kind of skipping. Visually, the lens looks clean. Plays okay for a few minutes...

Has anyone compared the new 200's to an olive series 250? Is it better or just different? Thanks.

I note that Linn speakers Kabers and Keilidh are now available for as little as £350 and £225 with stands respectively. What is the current feeling about matching them with Naim equipment (eg 72/140) passive or active.

Maybe there is an old thread to be directed to, but... I have heard the differences between different preamps, and they are not subtle. What i don't understand is why this is the case when the role of the [reamp is just to get the source signal to the power amp and add volume and balance controls. Besides the obvious things like multiple inputs, why does a 252 best a 112, and what accounts for the vastly different expense? Bruce

Current system: 32-5/140/Hicap,Much modified MA352 speakers,CD3 & Systemdek TT/Linn Basik arm/Ortofon 540 MM cartridge. Sound from the CD3 is fantastic; turn up the volume control a tad and the sound really cranks up and sounds involving with plenty of bass and clarity.
