How different would the XS2 sound in my system compared to my existing 150x/122x with flatcap & CD5x with Rega RX3 speakers. Would it be noticeably more powerful with greater weight and a fuller sound. Would the sound be warmer and richer sounding than what I have now. Would there be improvement in Soundstage. New speakers recently - Focal Sopra No 1. My previous speakers (Ovator S-400) hated the living room, probably due to their very wide dispersion, so my system lived in the bedroom. I'd much rather put it in my living room, so I thought it time to try again. Problem... it's almost as if the bass is completely eaten by the room. hi all, i will be selling my trusted s20s soon, and a friend is interested. As he has no stereo now (moving back from asia), question is what would a minimum good amplification be for him. Dont want him to pick up the speakers and then waste the investment. Would sn2 be a good partner, or is s20 too revealing and needs better system? Hi Have sold the real stuff (NDS/555 and LP12) due to room circumstances and downgrade in general. I`m left with Qute 2 and Supernait 2 with Focal Aria speakers. For us who haven't moved to streaming world yet, we need a player software on our computer to control our music libraries and play music. I use USB to transfer the signal from PC to my Naim. My audio chain goes like this: Win 10 + Player - USB Isolator - USB Bridge - Naim DAC - Naim SN2 + HCDR - ATC SCM40 v2. I did some research about different player software for Windows. I've been using foobar2000 for over ten years now and thought that maybe there's finally something better out there.

Hi all, curious about peoples experiences of SQ when ethernet streaming with the Melco units (following the recent firmware upgrades) N1A and N1Z for me would be a direct connection to a NDX 1) is there a uplift in SQ compared to say a good NAS (i use QNAP TS251+ with a GISO GB)? 2) more me wondering how melco would fare say against the new uniti core OR the innous Zenith Mk.II set up ? anyhow interested in peoples experiences with it in streaming setup......

Hello fellow Naim users, I'm really in need for a new washingmachine, and my laptop is getting old too.. But.. i decided to upgrade my hifi first :) Currently i have a Unitiqute 2 with a NAP 100 and a pair of Tannoy DC8's. For me the dream is a superuniti, but these are still a bit expensive, so i was thinking about a s/h NAP250.2 or a new NAP200dr.. the NAP250's are getting reasonable in price, and i could have it upgraded to dr spec's later. current system: cds2/Xps/01/52/135s- on fraim without spending crazy money what is recommended to add streaming to my system? I have about 600 cd's so I would still like to keep cds2 unless I get something that also rips and plays ripped cd's. keep it simple I'm a Luddite david

Been playing around with speaker cables between my two Naim systems. I was always impressed with SuperLumina speaker cables – one of the early adopters. The level of details they present is simply stunning. Recently during some box swapping and moving I thought I would try my trusted NACA5 on a ‘better’ system (NDS /252 /250DR into Ovators S-400). Suddenly fun returned. Don’t know what to attribute it to. But it surely cannot be due to this cheaper garden-hose lookalike thing… Or….???

hi, i want to enter into the naim world, in this moment i have an a/v system based on nadT175 and arcam p1000. I can't meet the expense in one time (amp, power, source, naca5) so i'd like to know how to start. Better the source (in my case ndac) and then the amp or the amp, etc... the source for me mean liquid music (audirvana, sonos)....i thought to buy gustard u12 with the ndac, what do u think? tks in advance!!

My 250.2 is off to be dr'ed this weekend. A friend has offered me an old Nap 140 to pair with my 272 whilst it is away. It's obviously from a previous generation and I'm not expecting great results but I guess it should work, unless due to ignorance there is a compatibility issue I'm not aware of?

Hi All, Have been a vary satisfied owner of my entry-level Naim gear for 10 years now and still enjyoing the original Uniti with my nSats. Also having followed pretty much all of the threads on the above combo (which has been great fun too:) I am rethinking my system evolution. So recently I had a listen to the NAC-N 272 and NAP 250DR combination, albeit with a pair of Focal Sopra N°1s - needless to say the system sounded very musical and . The problem is that I can only do this in 2 steps...

Why is there a Subwoofer Out connection point on the 122x, is it for use only for specific manufacturers Subwoofers. Trying to get some clarification as to why it is there and is this a simple way of integrating a subwoofer. I do have an old Kef subwoofer which I used to use in a previous system and wondered about giving it a try in my system. I would like at some point to try a Rel on a home demonstration. Hi forum. Would a upgrade from a Hicap2 to a DR spec version ,make much of a improvement to a Nac 202, Nap 200 with Napsc arrangement. The speakers are SBL'S with a cd5 as a source & a flatcap 2 with dedicated mains provided . Any other ideas to improve this system welcomed, Regards, Pieman.

What do you think about this combination.had in mind changing my current amp(250.72 olive serviced.hcdr) for sn2.hcdr but not shure its s astep forward. So what is your opinion.is any of this two possibilies going to improve sq.also to consider the 72 olive match with classic 250dr.hcdr. my sources are cd and fm

A change in living room furniture means that it would be nice to change our speaker colour from a cherry to oak finish when the opportunity arises. i.e. we will wait until a nice used/ex demo pair comes up. We really like the C20's so would be reluctant to change to anything else but I did wonder if I should include S20's in my search. Given that the S20's are an improved version of the C20's I would be interested in learning from anybody's experience of moving from C20's to S20's and how...

I have some SBLs (MK2) and have read as much as I can about setting them up, but have a few queries. I am aware of the gasket and pad set that is for sale, but hope to obtain the constituent elements for a rather more modest cost. If there are definitive answers to my questions, might a topic be added to the FAQs on the site? Had my new SL cables a couple of weeks ago and after seeing the topic on the problem with the Banana plugs I checked mine and found they were loose. I contacted my dealer last Thursday as advised by Richard Dane to discuss this matter they in turn contacted Naim who said they would send a replacement set. These arrived at the dealer yesterday morning and they would have installed them in the afternoon but unfortunately I had a prior appointment so they will install them tomorrow afternoon. I...

Well after taking delivery yesterday of my new amp and cd player I'm very pleased so far with my new purchase. I currently have a cyrus system and I'm loving the naim presentation and looking forward to hearing it in a few weeks of running in. I listened to a cd last night of Stacey kent and I was amazed that I could hear the saxophonist taking a breath in between. What I love more than anything is I hear more music than ever before!!!!.

Hi would a flatcap xs be too much of an upgrade for the nac112x ' I know people say it will work with the nac 122x etc any comments appreciated

It had occurred to me whilst dismantling my NAP500 from my system to send off to the mothership that the interconnect between my 552 and 552PS is a standard 5-pin 240Deg SNAIC. Whilst we focus on all of the other links, Is there not an SL for this? Can the SNAIC be improved upon? Opinions please!

I have just bought the above from ebay after wanting to gravitate into entry level naim and having owned a Nait 3 for 8 years I have moved up a small notch. Can some one tell me which leads I need, and how to connect. I did read an old thread but struggled to make sense of it. Whats confused me is the FC was supplied with a 5 male to 2 female connector that I assume is for a headline.
