Hi, Just bought nait5/cd5/fc2/b&w cdm1nt/naca5 and set it all up last nite. haven't listened to it in anger yet but couple of questions: - when I wired it all up I chucked a CD in, pressed play and...nothing! Checked all the connectors and it started working once i'd reseated the CD->amp connection (which seemed to be fine in the 1st place). Is there some special/naim-approved way to lock the connector on and should I tighten the screw on the top which seems quite loose? - bearing this in...

Hi all.Has anyone tried the Origin Live motor kit on an original Roksan Xerxes? I've acquired one for my "experimental" office system and thought it might be worth a try. Rest of the table is a SME IV and a Goldring Excel. Thanks in advance.Bob

Hi there, Just a thought, if CDS1 can't be upgrade to CDS2, would Naim offer the CDS2 user the same option in the near future. Unless the mechanic of new CDS3 will not fit into the CDS2.I wouldn't at the moment, as I have only bought it from new for...

Spent my Saturday re-wiring the kitchen lighting & needed some cabling pretty quick. Dashed off to B&Q and what do I find? MK switchless sockets at only £4 each! I couldn't find these at my local eletrical wholesalers as they tend to do cheap trade...

I have recently purchased a few used audio items that have been added into my system. I replaced my old SNAPS with a Hi-cap, my old NAP 140 with a NAP 250 and updated the tweeters (I just blew an original on one side) in my Pro-ac Studio 2's with...

Seeing various Kabers/Briks/SBL's for sale s/h recently how do these stand up to new products in the £1000-£2500 arena. Ideally I'm looking for a fairly smooth treble/deep bass presentation speaker that can go close to the wall at the end...

It’s no secret for long that mains leads must not run parallel to speaker cables. The bad news is that it’s by far not enough. They must run strictly perpendicular to speaker cables. I don’t know the degree of by what things...

I have a NAP140 powering extra speakers in my study, dining room & hall and want to be able to control the pre-amp (sited in the drawing room) from the study. The study is about 60 feet away from the pre-amp and a "Powermid" simply doesn't operate the distance. Has anyone any ideas as to what I should try or do?? Thanks :-) Computers are supposed to work on 1's and 0's - in other words "Yes" or "No" - why does mine frequently say "Maybe"?......

Hi thereSome time ago I made a post reporting that the largest single thing that I had done to improve my musical enjoyment was getting a proper vinyl record cleaner - in my case, I got a VPI one but I am sure that the Loricraft, Clearaudio ,Moth et...

Sorry - another dumb question - who's a good bet for decent DIN->4 phono leads for tape decks? I'm using cheapo Maplins £2.99 ones as a stopgap - and this might be another non-helping factor in why MD doesn't sound so hot...What's this...

OK - so before we start, don't tell me I should have got a NAIT2 - too hard to find and too expensive...Besides, I'm upgrading an Audiolab 8000A so a NAIT 3 will be infinitely superior musically First off, does the NAIT3 have an illuminated Naim...

I installed my (new to me) NAIT 3 last night, after picking up the phono boards and NACA5...When I first powered it up I was quite surprised - there's a hell of a lot more bass than with my old Audiolab 8000A, right out of the box - and I was led to...
