So exciting times ahead for me.. roadtrip from Holland to Germany tomorrow to pick up a pre loved superuniti. Prices are dropping due to the introduction of the new Uniti line i guess, so i can pick up one for a reasonable price. Still a lot of money, but this is what i have my mind set up. I've got a pair of Tannoy Definition DC8 standmounts, before powerd by a qute/nap100.. soon to be fed by the (former) top dog Superuniti. can't wait.

I saw the Uniti Atom at the TAVES show this weekend just north of Toronto. Very impressive piece of hardware (gorgeous remote as well). The gear in the Plurison room (the Naim importer for Canada) was set up more like a showroom than a listening space, so while the Atom was hooked up to a really cool pair of small Focal floorstanders (not sure which model), doing any critical listening was not possible. I was very impressed with the build and fit and finish for sure. The most impressive...

I am currently listening to the Chord Epic, freshly soldered with Naim plugs at the amp side and bananas at the speaker end. I have to say, the difference between the Chord Epic and Naca5 is not subtle at all. They sound very different! I was not expecting a rather appreciable difference between these speaker cables but it's really an eye (or ear) opener. I have to say, I am surely leaning toward the Chord Epic at the moment. Just tried some tracks and there Chord Epic is more open and...

I've recently installed a pair of Focal Sopra 2's for home demo... curious to what others have found effective with respect to toe in, general set up, and burn in time. The speakers have 0 hours on them as received from the dealer. I have them for 10 days and am about 72 hours into the burn in process. My room is about 14 ft x 15 ft with 9 foot ceilings... I have the back of the cabinets about 17 inches from the back walls and 25 inches from the side walls... experimenting with toe in and...

Having got my CDS back from a full service and recap, it has come back like a new machine. So much so I was inspired to do the upgrade I've have wanted to do for the last 20 years. My system was CDS1 Nac92, Nap90 and Credos. l at last have activated my Credos, a second Nap 90 an Ixo active crossover, and the extra speaker cables and interconning leads. I also got hold of a flat cap for my preamp. I think it's fair to say I feel my system is entering a higher plane. I think my next step is to...

Hi, I am looking at a CD/Streaming solution to replace my UnitiLite. Ideally id like to keep the same speakers. What is the recommended pairing as a upgrade from the UnitiLite? Thanks Mark

Hi guys i am new to this forum and to the world of Naim i have been fortunate enough recently to aquire some new equipment but have a few questions, my system consists of the following ND5 xs streamer NAC 202 pre NAP200 power HICAP DR psu NAPSC and PMC twenty 5 24 speakers with Chord Anthem speaker cable, im also using chord shawline din to din for the links and chord shawline rca to din from my processor. So the questions are: Would i benefit from changing my current 5 channel power amp by...

Looking for a phono preamp for my Naim Nait xs. Thinking of Naim Stageline N, however I would love to have some advice regarding alternative (cheaper) options. I'm using a Pro-ject debut carbon esprit with an Ortofon red pickup.

I'd be interested to know the benefits of using two power supplies with the CD555, as opposed to just using one, from anybody who has gone that route. What sort of difference does two make?

I currently have a SuperNait and NDX5 feeding into some Linn Ninkas which I have owned for a considerable time. I'm fairly happy with the sound but circumstances dictate that I need to replace the speakers with ones that work very close to the back wall (the side walls will be at least 1m away on both sides). I find that the Ninkas need at least 30cm between them and the back wall to sound at their best. What suggestions would you make? I was thinking about a second hand set of SBLs, but I'm...

I was just perusing a Canadian hifi auction site and was stunned by how many Devialet Phantom's there are up for sale. Usually the new hot thing is seldom seen on the used market. I've heard one at a dealer and was amazed at the sound the thing produced... but even with a short listen found them quite fatiguing. Perhaps others have who have purchased are having a similar experience once they get the unit home. This isn't intended as an attempt to bash Devialet.. I"m actually a fan of the...

I have read about the deleterious effects of power strips that come with a glowing red light and an on/off switch. Unfortunately I am currently using one, an MK Duraplug power strip that has the red light and on/off switch. The exact model of this extension block I currently have in the system is as shown below. I will be getting the Wireworld Matrix 2 power strip soon and would appreciate some advice on the plugging order of equipment on this thing to optimise the performance of the system.

Tried the XPS-DR on the NDS powering it's digital section (1) with the 555-DR powering just the analog section (2). First time that I've really been impressed with this system - Sound is more open, layered etc. The XPS-DR on the NDS/555-DR 553/300 was much bigger improvement than on the 272/250DR so it's staying on this system.

I just took advantage of AV Option's sweet Fall sale of 15% off their AC power products and have a new Deep-Cyro Naim Powerline and a couple of TibiaPlus (also deep-cyro) cables coming. The question is where to best deploy the PL? The main choices are: HiCap DR powering 282, or He Who Must Not Be Named XPS powering ND5xs, or HiCap DR powering Stageline. I know the the best answer is "experiment" but with my racking situation changing anything including power cords is anything but trivial, so...

So, that upgraditis is itching! My current system is Nac N272, Cyrus X300 mono and Vienna Acoustic Baby Grand SE's. I'm toying with a pair of Martin Logan Impressions (loved the sound of the Montis) but they are pretty big speakers so, I wonder if I might be better doing the 'sensible' thing and adding an XPSDR first and potentially then changing the amp to a Naim 250DR? Would love to know what you all think?

I just received a 1988 Nap 140 from a private seller in Italy to complete my vintage system. At a close inspection, it turned out that the CH2 pcb has circular burning sign. He assured me that it is in full working order and this probably occured with its former owner. Our local service centre told me that is possible to sort it during service, however i'd prefer to replace the whole pcb but it seems that Naim no longer have these. My question is if eventually and indipendent service centre...

Hi I was looking at how my Nap500 is connected to the 500PS ......... would it be possible .....and has anybody ever tried using another 500PS....so effectively you use a 500ps for each side of the Nap500 amplifier.... I am sure it is not as simple as just plugging it in ........... and even if it was the transformer probably has split rails for L & R ............. etc etc any body any thoughts.....

I have been using this cd to work my system and speakers, and it seems to work really well. After a run through, the sound comes through clearer and airy, I have no idea why but it works, anyone else found the same?

Will a flat cap 2 help a 112x pre and a 150x power amplifier..Would it be a worthwile upgrade or is it a sideways or negative move...Would it help the power amp as it would not need to supply power and give it extra OOmph..?? Both units have been recently serviced and are wired 4 meters nac a5..each side ...Naim DAC into my computer is the source... All comments welcomed..

Well; on the end of the speaker cables will be my starting point. These will be running active and the reason I ask is that I found with briks by moving them 6-7 inches from the wall cleaned up the mid but lost the bass, however I was able to retrieve the bass from the snaxo. These do look big and heavy, I think the novelty of moving them round and round the living room will soon wear off. Lyndon
