Is it ok to place my 122x on top of my 150x on the same shelf on my HiFi rack. Ive had to move my system to a different part of my music room in order to accommodate fitting the NAC A4 cable (see my previous thread). im a bit limited for space so may have to alter the position of my equipment on my HiFi rack. I have a Quadrasphire Reference rack, it's the one with the middle of each shelf cut out. It's a 4 shelf unit. My CD5x is currently on the top shelf, but I intend placing my LP12 there...

Dear Forum I've recently bought a new SN2, and I'm very happy with the improvements over my old 112x/150x. I am however a little stumped on how best to connect my TT. I've read the manual and it looks like the Aux1 input is powered for a stage line or similar, and the Aux2 seems to just have a phono input rather than DIN. I'm using a stage line powered by a flatcap, so don't need any power from the amp. I'm currently just using the Tuner input and whilst it's sounding fine (and by fine, I...

I have just purchased a pair of one thing audio treated esl 57's from ebay on rupert stands. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to treat these speakers, e.g. best speaker cable, how to ensure that I do not arc the speakers, do I need to purchase a sound meter and not go above a certain db level and if so what is that level. Do I need to consider buying quad amps 34/306 or 44/405 to partner with the 57's, are these more suitable. Also is it a risk to the amp nait 5si running with...

Hi, Im glad i have discovered Naim Hi-Fi Audio. I have just aquired a Naim CD5XS Cd player and the sound is as smooth as silk. Right on with my question, I run the audio output from the player into a Amplifier and because I like to listen to lots of music through my grado PS1000 Headphones I route the digital output from the player into a chord Mojo headphone amplifier, All bliss so far. The only complaint i have is that when i want to change back and play through my speakers the player is...

hi all, hoping for some guidance. Am considering the sabrinas, but hear very mixed views on how difficult they are to drive. Have gone thru the forums search function and just find hard to conclude based on found postings the lab report from hifinews review says its a tough load - sub 4ohm and large impedance angles requiring amp with high current delivery. Does this mean large krells etc? would really appreciate first hand experience and also any dealer suggestions that know naim-wilson...

Seems like mine is among several threads which might be combined. Amazing dynamics right out of the box. Dropped right in to my existing system. Brings the CD555 to life. Still working up to the Superline. I am sure it will mellow but so far so good.

I posted here in October, 2012 inquiring about the wisdom of pairing a Nait 5i with Proac 1sc speakers. At the time my source was an original Rega Planet. I was downsizing and needed to eliminate some of the larger pieces I had. I did purchase a Naim 5i-2 eventually and have been using it with the Proac's for a couple of years. There are times when I think the Proac's could use more power. I've since upgraded my Rega Planet to a Rega Saturn-R. I've begun to consider replacing the Proac's...

I need to choose between 3 XLR cables to connect my 250.2 to a 52 PS. Old grey Naim XLR from the 80s. New black Naim XLR which came with the amp in 2006. Or pure silver XLRs which some claim to be the best.

I have the first 72 with 2 phono (BNC) inputs, a simple question, does this mean I can run 2 TTs into it? Just wondering why it has 2 sets of bnc/phono inputs. Obviously there isn't room for 2 sets of phono cards, so I couldn't switch from mm to mc??

I recently got my set of three Nap500 re-capped and upgraded to DR two weeks ago. They were eight years old so I was going to get it done in the next year or two anyway, but hearing friends DR update performance-lift in passive systems I was suitably impressed and wondered how it would sound in Active use. Last year I purchased the S1 Pre which was a large upgrade in performance from the 552 I had been using. Add to that the full loom of SL leads I got at the same time and I’ve experienced a...

Hello everyone, More than 1 year ago I have changed the vam 1202 with a brand new one. The change was operated by the official italian service. From one month when it try to read a cd some rumors appear and they stop when the first track has been ran. Yesterday when I was pulling the clamp it has pulled away the "ring" where the disc is housed. I have repositioned it but not in the original position (I cannot push it too in depth..I could damage the frame and the springs...) Is there anyone...

I am considering buying a Naim Muso to beef up the sound from my TV. Can this be done and is it a good idea? There is no HDMI input on the Muso. How is it then connected? Is ir possible to use two Muso QBs in stereo mode as an alternative? Any experience or help would be appreciated. In addition to the TV itself I use an Apple TV, an Oppo 105 blue-ray player and a no-name hard disc recorder. Best regards Hans

Hi all, question if I may. Im receiving a 2000 nac52 and a 2000 SC, as far as I know the SC Hasn't been serviced. Now the bit where I'm torn. I have a serviced 96 SC (1year ago). I must move one of them on, which one? A little history on the boxes. They 2000 Naim originated from the USA many years ago, the SC was changed to 240v by an authorised naim dealer. Im kinda ok to drop another $600/£300 for the service of the 2000 SC or am I just wasting money? thanks in advance Steve

Hello. I have a Nait XS set up with Harbeth Super HL5 speakers in my primary listening room, and am very pleased with it. I would like to power speakers in a nearby room with the Nait5i, but since there isn't a simple "tape out" on the Nait XS I'm not sure how to do that. First post--appreciate the chat, and any help with this- JMH

Just curious - what are the circular things on the top panel at the back of both the pre and power amps. Are they buttons ?

Hi there Recently came across an olive NAP250 which hasn't got a serial number on the back so presumably has been built by a Naim employee sometime back in the nineties. Can't find out its history because of that but I suspect it has never been recapped. My question is what's the devaluation percentage, if any, when compared to a similar one with a proper serial number of the same vintage? Cheers, Pedro

Hi all, Firstly I just like to say that for the most part I absolutely love my system. I have a 202/200/napsc/HiCap and Credo's. My Source is a MacBook Pro into a Chord 2qute dac. The reason for my post is that even though the sound is fantastic from the MacBook and dac I am getting a slight harshness in the high frequencies that I didn't get with my previous dac, the Qute Ex. I have read that a few other people have commented on the 2qutes harsh highs, noting that the Hugo is slightly...

When upgrading power cables, whIch order would you follow if you couldn't do them all in one go? Should I start with the source, and if so what would that be? I'm thinking Prefix HiCap, Armageddon, NAC HiCap, NAP. Or should the Armageddon go first?
