Can anybody tell me the power rating of a NAP90/2? Is it worth buying, or should I spend some extra cash on a NAP140?/LarsIt Kan be done!
After spendind sometime listen to the new series at my friendly local Naim dealer in Toronto (HiFi FoFum) ranging from the series 5 to the CDX2/PS/282/PS/300/PS (PS is the power supply units) all placed on the Naim Fraim and with Royd, Neat, Totem...
Posting on behalf of a friend....______________________________________________I have intentions to acquire the 112/150...but not sure if that combination will be able to drive the Sonus Faber EA2s. Have an elongated listening room...actually a study...
Well, it's been a tough choice, but someone had to make it. I had listened to the Sonus Faber Grand Piano's and Vienna Acoustics Beethoven. Although I liked both, the Vienna Acoustics is definitely the better speaker (to my likings). It is very fast...
It seams that some people have a vendetta against tweaking.just wondering why it is and why they by "high end " hifi in the first place if they think that equipment cannot be improved or helped by some well though out tweaks?
Hey guys,Me thinking of upgrading again. My room size is bout 10' by 20', with a ceiling height of about 10'. What improvements would I expect to listen if I should upgrade to a NAP 250 with the current set up I have (ie just replacing the NAP 180...
The battle is on. I have a new Nait 5 and both of the above mentioned speakers at home for trial. Our room (13x25x10 high opening onto the dining room and kitchen) may be too big for the Hawks and so the B&Ws were brought in. I've had the Hawks for 2ish weeks. These are exciting speakers and, in our room, have a bright (overly bright) tonal balance. Moving the speakers closer to the walls/corners reinforces the bass, but not the midrange. So the net result is a "boom-tizz" balance. They do...

Hello (again) everybody!I dusted off my membership ID because one the forum's hot items also is one of mine. Hope I am still welcome? The thing is, I'm looking for a rack for my -relatively modest- Hi-Fi (LP12/ARO/Armageddon/K9 + CD3 + NAIT 3) and was...
It's early days in the new range I know but has anyone heard and have opinions on the above options.I've heard CDS2/XPS2 which sounded better than I remember the CDS2/XPS sounding, but I'm wondering how close the CDX2 is to the CDS2. Info needed to...
I would like to say before I start a big thankyou to everyone that responded to my thread I found the advice useful. The kit was left on for the best part of 3 days I dumped the surge protector and on Richard Dane's recommendation swapped my...
Does anybody out there (especially those in Edinburgh) have experience of the aeriel requirements for DAB. Specifically will I get away with a simple indoor type or will I have to get something put on the roof. I know that the better aerial I have the...
Is it ok to advertise 2nd hand equipment for sale on the forum? Just don't want to break any etiquette.G
I’m listening to Naim about 10 years from now and I know quite well the SBL, IBL and I’d listened to DBL.Since 1992 when I bought the Nait2, I listened at my home to speakers of AR, Linn, Regga, Shahinian and a Rell Sub.I have a friend...

Has anyone else experienced discolouration form the rubber feet on wood shelves. Removing my Naim from the stand for dusting I noticed that the rubber feet left a stain in the finish. I have tried isopropyl alcohol and some furniture polishes to...
I am considering changing my SBLs to one of the above speakers. I have heard the NBLs with a 500, DBLs active with 135's but not in any comparative listening. The price differences aren't huge when you consider used DBLs or NBLs.Based on reading some...

I have a planar 3 which I bought new in 2002. I was thinking of upgrading the cartridge. During my research it seems to have become apparent that I do not have a P3, rather the older model.I did not know when I bought it that they were still producing...
I am looking to buy a NAP 140 power amp to add to my Nait 3. Do I need to do anything to my Nait 3 to get it running? Do I need the same version as mine (ie front green lit logo recent style)Thanks alot.
