Ive had my nac112x and nap150x running rega ELA mk1 for a while now ..Very pleasent speakers and untill now I was happy. I have just been given a pair of 80's BW 1800 Matrix in a lovely Walnut Veneer..They dont have the original stands but I have sat them each on an old pine drawer..I expected a lot of Bass and probably not to well controlled ' but am suprised to report at 1 foot away from a solid wall and around 5 1/2 feet apart they really sing..Has anyone else out there had fab results...

I recently bought a pair of SBLs upgraded with the mark 2 bass drivers. I was planning on using www sbls.co.uk as a guide to getting my sound right but the website went down the day I bought my speakers! I think the owner of the site hangs around on these forums? Maybe there's a way to get the site back up? It was a great resource. Also, I would love to listen to a perfectly set up pair of SBLs so I can determine whether or not they are really what I want. My ears are taking a while to get...

Dear valued Naim forum members, I am new to the forum but have been with Naim equipment for about 3 years. I am currently in the position to upgrade my NDX/282/HCDR/200 with either a Supercap DR or 250DR. I have read many threads on here but couldn’t quite get an answer on which upgrade to take now especially with my PMC fact.8. So let me explain from where I come from initially and why this question arises. I started off with a NDX into Leema Tucana (around 3 years ago) but quite quickly...

I want to remove the BNC adaptors connected to the phono inputs of my NAC102 and replace them with BNC connectors. Do I need the 50 Ohm or the 75 Ohm type of connector? Thanks!

I consider changing my Ndac (classic model) to a Chord Hugo. I'm impressed to the Hugo's sound with my Supernait 2 as I've listened to it at home. I was wondering the battery and charging thing. Can I keep power cable always attached or does this damage the converter in long term? There are tv, cd player and laptop permanently connected to it.

Hi I don't use phono. I use tuner and tape 1 inputs ..I pulled out 323 and 328 boards. Is this correct.

Over the last 6 months I have added the SL speaker cable, the SL IC and finally the DIN-XLR. The latter was installed last night. The IC and speaker cables were new and should be now run in. The last piece was ex-dem and should also be on song. I think most people have done this upgrade in this order if not in a single step. The run in humps and hollows have been fairly well documented on this site. The speaker cable upgrade, in January, was noticeable even straight from the box. Almost like...

I've moved to a primarily headphone based system due to 2 young children under the age of 2 in my home and the need for a quiet environment around the house. I had planned to move up to the Sennheiser HD800 S as one of my pending upgrades, but just heard about newly released statement Focal headphones, the Elear and Utopia. Has anyone around here heard these yet, especially in the context of a Naim system? Do you know what, if any, involvement Naim products might have had in the design? Does...

I more and more read the word fun used by members in describing their experience with some older, smaller Naim integrated such as the Nait and the Nait2. These units seem to go on the 2nd hand market for sum widely exceeding their objective technological status and commercial age. Ivor Tiefenbrun (if I remember correctly) once said that if a system made you tap your feet (or foot, one usually just taps one, while the other keeps the balance) then it was a good system ( – or was it Julian...

As is sometimes the case a recent thread about Powerlines went a little of topic and Max our peace loving Italian brother took into this following direction and I hope he does not mind my quoting him: ...... "So, to contribute serenely to an interesting discussion, here's how I 'chose' my last system. There was a NAP200DR for sale. I lost the auction for, say, €30. Then the winner withdrew, and the seller contacted me offering to sell at my last offer. It was a very good price, I bought it.

All- Had the opportunity to visit the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest today. It was the right day to go - systems were as warm as they could be, and it was not crowded at all. A few impressions: The new Uniti: I thought the Atom was terrific. It looks and sounds very good (driving a pair of Focal towers, with a sub hidden in the corner). Also great to meet Alec and Steve S. from Naim. At $3k for the Atom, I think it will do very well. Very nicely made, and if didn't quite sound as good as the...

Having upgraded my NAP 200 it is now being handed down to my son. He is currently using a Nait5 and inputs are all digital, primarily from plex running on a Rasberry Pie I believe. Since I haven't upgraded my NAC 202 (yet:) he has no pre-amp for the 200! Since he only has digital sources, I was wondering if any of you had used a DAC directly into a 200 ... ... not talking about higher-end Hugo DACs here; ... more a DAC in the £400-600 range; ... had wondered about the Arcam IRDAC or Audio...

Valhalla could be in line for an upgrade. Should I swap the 32.5 for an 82 or the 180 for a 250? Or is it time to replace the Keilidhs with some S600s? My gut feeling is 250 first. Flat Earthlings, do you agree? Must be LP12 friendly.

A couple of weeks or so ago I asked for advice to upgrade my system ( 5X / 122X / FC2X / 150X & Wilson Benesch Arcs. ) The general view was that the CD player should be upgraded to a CDX2 as a first step with possible future changes being to replace the amps with a Supernait2 or perhaps a 202 / 200 or 250. Ok so I took the plunge and bought a S/H CDX2 part exchanging my CD5X. I took delivery today and have only played a couple of cds thus far. I have to say that the improvement is...

I felt at home from a friend the PMC 26 + SUPERNAIT 2 + HiCap and love them. I have the naim nait xs + non Naim psu; and I was interested in both the pmc 21 or 22. which of these is best suited with my xs in a room of about 16m2? thanks

I'm in the process of moving house and luckily have managed to find a property that gives me a separate listening/music room - good news! Not so good news, perhaps, is that the position in that room where the system will be installed is not close enough to power sockets, and certainly not the 6 outlets I will require. I've read various threads on the subject of getting a dedicated spur/ring main/radial circuit fitted but only end up confused. As now would be the ideal time to get this done...

Having recently recovered "our" NAIT 5 from no1 son, as soon as I centered the balance I realised that it has a very faint left channel. So I thought I could use the power amp fed by my spare NAC42 and 4 -4 SNAIC, but although the manual doesn't show that configuration I thought it possible. Is it possible? I was hoping to tide me over as a spare room system for a short time until I can arrange some suitable treatment for it. Howard

Hello, I know (i.e. read on this forum) that power amp and power supply need to be serviced after 8-10 years, while pre after 12-15. 1) Is it correct? 2) and what about the cd player (mine is the cd 5x) ? 3) There's a priority in the servicing? I mean, is the servicing of power amp and power supply more important than the servicing of Nac and Cd player? thank you in advance, kind regards David

Hello, I'm just wondering if anyone uses a Hugo with their XS2? And if so, do you find it a little bass light / a bit shallow? I'm using Innuos Zenith (WAVs) > Hugo > Chord Shawline RCA > Nait XS > Chord Odyssey > Proac 118. I know my Proacs have no bass boost which doesn't help but lovely speakers. I found going from Chord Rumour to Odyssey I lost a bit of bass but Rumour was muddy. I'm thinking of a SN2 upgrade for more slam/authority? How much more slam will I get vs XS2? I...

Had the opportunity to audit the Magico S1mkii at a dealer place and was impressed by the overall tonal accuracy and sound of this pair of speaker. It was driver by a pair of Solution pre power. I was wondering if my NAP250DR was capable of driving this pair of speaker?
