are there any plans to have a forum only session at the show this weekend, like at bristol in feb?cheersmatt
Hi AllI've just tried a set of milty foculpods under my Micromega Stage 5 with excellent results. I thought at first it would make the music a bit softer but in fact it seems to tighten things up considerably. Also detail was much better but a bright...
Hello, here in Germany we are allways a bit faster in testing new Naim-stuff.In No.4/2002 of Audiophile there is a test - i think its the first - of the SL 2.It is rated very high,in the same *****-class asAvalon Classic,Sonus Faber Amati Hommage and...
Hi everyone, check out the main site - news about the new centre channel too. Dev
Can anyone recommend an inexpensive DVD player that has decent CD playback? Thank you.
Well, after a good few months suffering from intractable upgraditis I’ve decided to return to a 72/hi-cap preamp setup and shift my 52/super. This is somewhat irrevocable in that the 52 winged its way out of my front door the other night, into...
After some help last year through this forum, I have just taken the plunge into Home Cinema. My main interest is music, so the surround sound is simply to have some better enjoyment of films not that I have bought a DVD player.I decided to go the less...
For once this post isnt about how to ship it - I'm hapy with that...it's the weight! Has anyone the remotest idea how much these things weigh? I put a supercap on my kitchen scales today and they nearly exploded! Surely someone has been down this...
Since I have installed my new NAC82 amp (have 522 mm boards) with 2*Hi/250 i found I couldn't connect my phono plugs from my P3 into the amp as they are bloody BNC type. Bought some gold-plated phono to BNC adaptors from a Naim dealer but my P3 TT now...
Prompted by a few sad old git postings I've recently made in the music forum, I was wondering how many forum members have heard 78's played on a decent horn gramophone? A friend of mine [ex-curator at the Science Museum] has a beautiful acoustic example from around 1920. He says that it's moderately top of the range for its time, and he always uses a fresh needle for each side that he plays [they come in different 'tones', but 'loud tone' is banned, as it harms the records too much, despite...
Back on the Naim straight and narrow, after years wandering in the round with only my CDS2 for company. Just could't resist the bargain prices being asked for the olive-front gear at the moment. So just bought a 52/Scap, 250, and SBLs in varying...
I just noticed that this showing latest update 6th. September but the only change appears to be summer newsletter 2002 download. No news on the new stuff just yet. Will all be revealed next weekend???Joe H
Hi everyone...Quick question...I bought a Naim Nait 5 yesterday morning and am very happy with it. The only thing is, the cd player seems fairly quiet on the CD input... I tried running it through aux input 1, and its louder, like I would expect it to...
Has anybody out there tried using the preamp portion of a Nait 3 or any of preamps from Nait with a tube(valve) amp. How did it sound? Was the PRaT intact? Did it suck?Mike
Hello, I've got the chance to buy a 52 & p/s for £2000. They are both from 1991, so are early versions. I don't want to convert the p/s to a supercap(£1000 ish), but what apart from a recap of the p/s would i have to do, & how close to a modern 52/supercap would they be? Regards Darren Cotter [This message was edited by Darren Cotter on FRIDAY 06 September 2002 at 21:44.]
Anyone who reads Vuk's delightful prose will know that I managed to con the State into subsidising the purchase of my CDS2. The question is, why did I bother? This 6K CDP is one of the best I've heard, certainly one of the best of all those I haven't...
Nice to know that sometimes there are bargains out there on Ebay!NAP 135'sIf you're dumb enough to post your ad in the wrong category (musical instruments) no one will know about your sale.Good deal for the buyer though.Arthur Bye
Last night I was fortunate to go and listen to Devs system. I knew what it was from the profile.. Linn LP12/Aro/Armageddon, power supplies all over the place, CDSII/XPS, Nat 01, 52/supercap 2x135s SBLs and various other additions. I was therefore...
I'd appreciate recommendations for a pair of small (and relatively inexpensive) bookshelf speakers. They're to go with a Linn Classic in the dining room. I guess the obvious ones might be Kans but they seem to be in short supply in the used...
I am sure that this topic has been posted on a previous thread but I'm suffering from jet lag and looking for a quick answer while I'm in the U.S. My two main sources are the CDS-II and LP12 and I am looking for a digital recording device for two main...
Guys, need your opinion or maybe some advice.I got a 92/90 for about 3 days now. Have been warming it up since I think the previous owner have not used it for quite some time and the naca5 looks really new, maybe even unused. What is good.It is...
I am selling my 102 and do not have the box. If the buyer wants a box can I get a close example from anywhere that will do the job. Or does anyone know if naim can supply.
Good morningMight be a stupid question...Where should that tape be, close to the CDX orclose to the XPS. Naim says close to the source..(that would be CDX), on the other hand tape ismarked with XPS......Cheers.RetoCDX, NAC102, NAPSC, Hi-Cap, NAP 250...
I have a problem that is a little annoying. My 72 is too loud. When I use any of the normal inputs (Vinyl is alright) I can't have the volume control past about 10-15%. This makes fine adjustment very difficult. Does the 82 have this problem ?? Please...
