Hello to all. My system consists of: Naim Nait Xs + Hicap, Kef LS50, Dac Gustard X20 DSD, sub Rel T5. I want to change the speakers that are best of Kef hoping to have a tangible improvement. The room is about 16 m2 with arched opening on the left well furnished. Hi all, After some 16 years of trouble free use I had my olive system, comprising of 82/napsc /Supercap; 250; XPS, all serviced/re-caped by Class A. Delighted with the results and was just getting it all nicely run in and once again enjoying the beautiful sounds issuing forth from my Harbeths when two months after the service the front lights on the 82 went off and the little power light on the back of the napsc stopped glowing! Hi all! Just had my 52 recapped and ooh laa laa! Unplugged the old 250 and hooked up a little Nap 100. Sounds smashing. I am considering a small black box amp as a back up and for a change of presentation but cant decide between a 150x or a 100. Which is the better amp with a 52? I am running two systems in different rooms.One contains Quad 2805 electrostatics and the other one is my vintage kit which I alternate between Rogers LS 3 5 A s and Focal Profil 77 floorstanders.The other day I removed the grills on the Focals after a couple of years with them on.Did some toe in and put some bungs in the bass ports which I haven't really experimented with. Testing a brand new Headline with a brand new NAPSC on an extended home demo (my dealer did not have or could not source test ones so he just ordered a new set for me). What are your experiences with regards to a run-in time? I could not find any info in any of the archive threads... Is it the usual 2-3 weeks or more like 2-3 months? Thanks,

I have heard that certain speaker cables can damage even modern naim amplifiers in the long run. I have a Superuniti and wonder if anyone knows if TaraLabs cables are ok to use together with a SU, more specifically it is a TaraLabs Spectrum Helix 8 cable.

Hi Folks My son's Qute is not responding to the remote. The remote is fine; it's had new batteries and can operate my ND5XS. There's nothing blocking the remote sensor. So, three questions: 1. In a search for relevant posts I read a suggestion of resetting the remote. What is this and how is it done? 2. I thought a factory reset of the Qute might help, but is this possible other than via the remote? If so, how is it done? 3. Any other suggestions? Thanks for any help Gavin

I have had my Nait 5i integrated amplfier for 3 years. I noticed recently that if I turn the volume up, while selecting an input that has nothing hooked up, or an input with the source not playing music, I get hum in the speakers. Now the hum is not always there. From the 7 o'clock position (volume off) to about the 11 o'clock position on the volume dial, there is no hum from the speakers. It is dead silent. Simply as the title suggests really, I currently own a pair of D7's and love them but think I'm ready to go a little bigger and was wondering if anyone has heard a pair of D9's yet as my local dealer has not got there demo pair in yet. hi all, i am in process of auditioning new speakers. Based on forum posts, 803 d3 receives a lot of positive comments and also seems to be right match to 300dr in terms of amplification. Hi all, I've let my emotions get the better of me unfortunately, and bought an olive 82/250 combo which is arriving today. However I have a chance to return the 82 and get an olive 52. I already have a Non-naim psu so that would power the 52. But this leaves me without streaming capabilities (apart from my Apple Airport Express which I'm using right now). So would it be better to get the 52 and buy a separate naim streamer, or go with the 272 along with my olive 250? Thanks Scott

I just received my first SL Interconnect and have installed it (replacing hiline). When I installed my hiline the common wisdom from forum members was that the DIN end going to the preamp should be inserted fully and then backed out about a mm or so (I assume for de-coupling purposes). I've applied this to the SL install as well... just wanted to check if this is also recommended for the SL cables.

I run a par of PMC GB1's powered by a NAC150. I have: * Removed the supplied, cheap + to + / - to - jumpers from the GB1's terminals * Stripped back the last 8cm of each speaker cable down to the wires, twisted them * Fed the + speaker wire through each GB1 + input terminal * Done the same for the - wire (I've tried the various combinations i.e. diagonal wiring etc) To me, this seems the optimum configuration as the signal is direct, compared with spending extra on expensive jumpers But I'd...

Hi There. I have just been offered a NAC 102 part exchange for My NAC 92. Am I right to keep looking out for a late NAC 72, or should I consider the offer? l have a Flatcap and a Nap 90 at the moment, Il have a second Nap 90 and plan to active my Credos if I can ever find an Ixo. cheers.
