Just curious what you thought of them and their strengths and weaknesses relative to higher-end Naim amps. HiFi+ seem to be very keen on them, and I'm just curious to find out if they live up to their hype...TC '..'"Girl, you thought he was a man, but...

I am going to fit an LCAudio XClock to my 7 year old CD3. Should I at the same time recap (1) the tants (2) the electrolytics ( in which case all of them(20+)or just the 10000u BHC smoothing caps). The BHC caps are ALC20 which are now obsolete. Does...

Greetings,I'm stumped. I've been using Naim equipment since 1986, thoroughly enjoying the life and energy that it injects (or, more correctly, fails to remove) from music. There's always been one fly in the ointment, albeit smaller and smaller through...

Anyone out there remember the Manchester Hi Fi Society circa 1980. To jog a few memories the first meeting was held in a Cheadle Hulme pub after a letter in Hi Fi Answers and then went on to be held in a variety of upper rooms in Northern Working...

What do the forum experts think of adding a subwoofer to a Naim system? I'm currently running Vienna Acoustic Bachs from my FC/CD5/Hi/92R/90.3. I really love the midrabge and sweet highs from these speakers, but they are a little bass shy. What's...

I visited the Frankfurt High End show last week, on a hot, sunny day - perfect for staying inside a stuffy old hotel with hundreds of anoraks! I’m not exactly an expert – only got into serious hifi over two years ago – but compared...

Hi folks.Having a cellar clearout, found my LP12 baseboard - this was fitted when I got my LP12 (which was a mongrel, custom built from a variety of sources) - which came as a part of the Cirkus kit. Now that my LP12 is long gone, and given that if I...

Alright calling all MusicWorks users, how many of you actually connect the NAPSC to your MusicWorks blocks, rather than following conventional naim wisdom and relegating it to another outlet or even spur ?After sometime i have powered it from the...

Guys, I have had my 250 (upgraded from 180) for about 6 weeks now and although it clearly has more weight and control I seem to have lost some PR&T from my system. I am running a CDX/XPS into 82/SCAP (which I am upgrading to a 52 next week). I still have the 180 so thought I would try it this morning, just to see. Well to my mind there seems more PR&T, especially at low volume which is where I listen 90% of the time. Played the whole of Revolver and 'enjoyed' it more than I did yesterday...

Hi Folks,My brother in law scored himself a bit of bargain last night: a NAC12S, NAP250 and homemade power supply for ca UK500, here in Perth, WA. Sounds very impressive, and that preamp is a cute looking box (narrower than a Hicap!). A couple of...

I've finally got my hands on a Tom Evans Microgroove and am thrilled... almost.I have a distinct hum on the left channel, not a buzz which might be an earthing problem but a hum with a definate pitch (approximately a 'G' I'd say). The Microgroove is on...
