Muhamid ALLeeee, My dealer rekons they will have a set run in soon & I,ll trot down there & take a listen. Until then I was wondering if anybody's already had a dem & would care to comment on there suitablity in the following system: CDX, 82 & hi,180. Ta..... raving mad boy Matt.
Speakers the final frontier! Ok so I,ve got a pair of Epos es11/12 modified, had them for 7 years & for small standmounters I think they are one of the best I have heard. I really like them for sure But.... & heres the big BUT, I want more from my speakers than I'm getting! My listening room is approx.12 by 19 feet, I am using 180,82,hi,& CDX. Heres what I'm after: Larger dynamic swing Bigger bass (but still tuneful & punchy) More presence Massive soundstage Almost real sound...
My father's got a twenty(ish) year old Ittok on his LP12. Not currently in financial position to invest in an Aro, he's been thinking about the possibility of getting Ittok rewired.Does anyone know where (other than Linn) one can get an Ittok rewired?...
My Karma will need retipping soon. Does anyone have any thoughts about having it done by Linn vs. Expert Stylus or anyone else?
I know vintage kit commands a premium from 'serious' collectors but this, I feel, is milking it somewhat!"Naim CD3.5, excellent cond, boxed with manual, 2 years old, need cash, hence looking for quick sale, £75,000.00 or very near...
There's lots and lots of threads that point to the strengths of the KAN as a serious speaker.Looking at the box, as low key and nondescript as it is, say when you compare it with the heavy serious looking Dynaudio Audience 40, which has got an in your...
Does the Armageddon work with any other turnables other than the LP12 (and Rega 3 I believe)? If so, does anyone have any experiences they would like to share? I wonder if my original Xerxes would benefit?
I've had my SBL's for about 4 months now. Generally, i am pleased with the performance. However, one aspect still bothers me considerably; and that is the "chesty" veiled quality of the lower midrange. In the two rooms I have had them set up in (the...
Hi!I am looking for a wallshelf for my LP12. Any advice appreciated!Best wishes from JunBTW: is the mana-Website down...?
Sorry about the title..Basically I have a problem, having recently finished uni, my large Mordaunt Short speakers are a bit much for my now smaller room - ironic my uni room was bigger! As you may be aware I have been asking a few questions recently...
Friends of the forum I bear sad sad news indeed.I was going to keep this quiet but I feel you lot out there oughta know.I have recently tried to place an order for SBLs (like yesterday)I have been told they have been discontinued. They are no longer...
Hi,I currently have a pair of KanII (latest version) speakers. These speakers does the PRaT thing like no other speaker I know of, but I realise that I can't live with this speaker in my current system. I also realise that I will get much more out of...
Last year my buddy Dave suggested that I stick a panel of Code 4 lead sheeting onto the underside of the Karik 3 to improve the sound quality of the system. He was on-the-button ... day versus night.Any of you cats tried something similar ?
Just scanning loot.com for 2nd had goodies as is my wont, and I came accross a couple of interesting ads.Someone has an obviously much loved CD3.5 which he's only prepared to let go for a modest £75,000.00.Another guy had some of the new "kit"...
Does this trouble you? The subject of cable position (speaker cable, interconnects, power leads etc.) in relation to each other is a little bit fustrating to me. When I take a look behind my hifi support there are a lot of cables back there & there all in a bit of a mess really. Now many poeple have mentioned things like you must not allow cables to run parallel with each other, that the mains socket should be at least 2 feet distance from the kit, speaker cable must not be ran along side or...
Can the above be done, as I understand yes, but I could be wrong. A friend on a different forum has the above and I suggested the new SNAIC but know I am not so sure..Scott
Just a heads up. I just received my copy of Listener magazine (Nov/Dec issue). There is a review of a pair of Kan 1's (single wire). Unusual and nice to see.
Is this a good match with Rogers Ls3/5a?Will it sound rather sweet? Will 90/72 do a much better job for vocal and Jazz?
In comparison to most of you cats I have a modest system but I derive the maximum amount of pleasure from it.Now what I was pondering is this ... many of you guys have parted with mucho dinero for your components. Is it not true to say that you might...
Hi folks,I was just wondering...,I hate the stiffness of the nac-a5. Ok,ok,I know,it's the sound that counts, but it's an almost impossible cable to work with. sometimes I'm afraid it wil damage the speaker terminals inside my Nait-2,and sometimes when...
Are there any?As you may know:I have a 32.5 but realise its not the best thing since ready prepared Hovis.I sold an 82 recently because I didn't like it.I cannot avoid the police and aquire a 52 at the same time.I have been told that DNM could provide...
Are there any other differences between these two pre other than the remote control?
A, ahem, friend of mine is wondering if there are any decent floor standing speakers that are magnetically shielded, work well up against the wall, do the naim 'thing' and cost around £1200. I, oops, my friend currently has intros.Tony
If you could upgrade from 3.5 to CD5 for $2-300 would there be any real benefit or is it just sylistic diffences?Current set up hi/3.5/hi/72/140/pro-ac 1SCRegards, David
