Hi all, just bought a pair 0f 135`s and wondered if anyone has experimented in the way they site their naim gear. Does it make a huge difference in regards to pre-amplocation/power/supplies/power amps?. Which way should i be looking at stacking the...

I was adjusting my balance knob, and found the the sound coming from the right speaker seems slightly muffled, compared to the left...Don't believe its the poweramp, i have been driving my speakers reasonably hard but not that hard, can it be that...

I vaguely remember reading somewhere about registering one's Naim equipment online. I couldn't find such a link on the Naim website. Can anyone link me to there ?

Can anyone shed light on what the major difference will be from moving to a Prefix "K" from the normal "K" board on my 52 ? Will it be worth the extra cost ?BTW, I find the "K" boards on either my old 72 or 52 really superb - for it's price, a giant...

I've mentioned this as part of another thread but had few takers. I have just bought a s/h NAC52 with NA523s. However I currently have a MM (LP12/Valhalla/Ittok/K9. Therefore I either need to buy a MM phono stage (NA522 or Stageline or others - please...

Hi Folks,I have one of these arms (Ittok LVIII/v2) on my LP12. From the descriptions of the Ekos I have read it sounds as if it is fairly similar: no arm rest, headshell glued on instead of screwed. I even believe that they use the same cabling. That...

OK -I was in Best Buy browsing DVDs and, what do I see? A DVD with the Alice Cooper 'Welcome to My Nightmare' album cover on it? Hum...this must be a concert video or someone has misplaced the CD. But no...it is a DVD-A version. And there's more - the...

I have a second system at home which consists of Toshiba DVD/32.5/110/AE1s. This combination makes a pleasant sound which equates to music with surprising regularity. But it would take a very expensive cocktail of mind altering substances to believe...

Any opinions on Contour 1.1, 1.3, 1.3SE (which apparently don't work with Naim), and still, the Crafft/C2.As you may have guessed I'm looking for imaging/overall speed/transparency/fast bass/sweet treble/ability to go loud/'disappearing' speakers,...

My system restructuring is nearly complete now, I’ve got the Nait 2, got the CDX, and got a buyer for the Mana (the esteemed Mr Hanson) and enough money in the bank to buy the QS Reference when the Mana deal is complete. After all this I still...

Just moved to Geneva from London where I had a great listening room (22ft x 15ft). Now I'm faced with renting an appartment with a much smaller room, probably more like 14ft x 10ft. My setup is CDX / 82 / HiCap / 180 / B&W CM4s (and a Revolver Rebel - bring back memories anybody?!). Problem is the B&Ws need a lot of breathing space... Any recommendations of a pair of relatively inexpensive speakers (preferably floor standers) that work well with this kit and will work well in a confined...

Hi-Fi dealer in Geneva is recommending a 2nd hi-cap for my 82 rather than putting the money towards a PSX for my CDX... any views (I've not heard the effect of either yet)? The advice may be somewhat biased by him having an ex-demo Hi-Cap in stock but...

Having just become the proud owner of my new CD5 I can finally say that CD sounds as good as my turntable - about bloody time too!The most obvious change I have noticed is that it is now very easy to tell which speaker the sound is coming from if it...

OK, for over a year I used B&W Matrix 805s (on very heavy Osiris stands). These are very good in many ways, but I wanted more--in particular deeper bass, sweeter treble, and a more incisive, clearer, sharper sound. Feeding my speakers are a VPI turntable with SME IV, a CD3, 32-5/hicap/250/Nac A5. A few months ago I bought Spendor S100s with Sound Anchor stands as an attempt to solve the problems listed above. Their reputation is very good, and I figured if they failed, they would be easy to...

Leaving aside room problems which may account for most of it does one a) just blame a badly ported speaker, b) blame a power amp which just can't control the drivers properly, c) blame it on the software: many CDs have a synthed, boomy bass in the...
