Hi all, I have a nac 62 and nap 250 cb and have both there main power cables with the earth connected. My question is if it is better or not to have the earth diconnected on the main power cable of my nap 250 and have it connected only on the preamp. The digital source has the earth also disconnected on the main power cable. Thank you for any suggestions. Tube

Would like to know if one can connect a headphone amp (other than Naim Headline) directly to a NAC 282. If so, to which socket and what kind of cable is necessary? What is needed If a direct connection is not possible? Thank you

Recently I bought an old NAP250 bolt down and a pair of SBLs (with Mk2 bass/mid drivers). I was surprised at how sweet this sounded when I compared it to my system (282, 2xHiCAPDR, SuperCap, SNAXO242, 2x200- Gyrodec+SMEiV+Kontrapunkth, NDac sources). My headline has stopped working! Green LED is lit, powered from a NAPSC. Receives signal feed from tape out of my NAC 202. Worked perfectly until recently, after un-cabling and relocating hifi to a new room. Yes headphones tested and work elsewhere just fine. Is the Headline input or NAC202 tape output 'protected' by any kind of fuse that may of blown? Much obliged for any pointers?

I have a core into my NDS then connected to a 252 I have the correct ( I believe) remote control link cable to connect the NDS/252 Can I now use either the naim app or ine of the two remotes to control both bits of kit? I'd like to be able to swop between tidal / core / radio etc and still be able to adjust volume / balance etc all from one place I just don't understand if that's possible from the manuals? Am curious to know opinions on best set up / connections for the following: NAP200, NAC202. HiCap, Flatcap XS, 2*NAPSC, Superline, Headline, CD5 XS (all non-DR & A5 speaker cables into PMC GB1i's). I recently picked up another Nac 32.5 and HC for use in another room. The Nac works using the HC in the lounge via a 4 pin din with link plug, and also a 5 pin din without link plug. When connected to the HC in the other room, the Nac only works when using the 4 pin din with link plug, not 5 pin din. Is this because the other HC is not dual rail? I also just managed to get hold of an old Nac 22 and Nap 120 power amp. Will the 22 work directly via the 120 or will it need a power supply also,...

I am still doing research to upgrade my Sonus Faber Venere 2 speakers. I am using a Naim Supernait 2. I was wondering if anyone can compare, or give their opinions on the ATC SCM19 versus the Neat Motive SX1 or SX2. A demo with the ATCs is possible for me, but not for the Neats. Are these speakers just different, and appeal to different tastes? Or, is the ATC SCM19 just in a higher class than the Neats (the ATCs are more expensive)?

I understand that a HICAP cannot be used to power more than one device at a time, but what about the audio outputs? Can they be tapped into to provide channel 1&2 output say ... to a sub?

What is the difference between grey or black SNAIC cables and whether they have green or white collars? And which end should the collar be connected?

I'm going to build double bases for both the Star and my turntable (Rega P3). One stand made out of 12mm toughened glass cut to size standing on Naim's ball feet like those used on the Fraim. The other stand I am thinking about using some spikes and was wondering if you guys would recommend any particular ones?

Thoughts? What would be the more prudent upgrade; the pre or power amp first? And for example, if upgrade pre-amp to 252 or 282, is the NAP200 still compatible. Similarly, if upgrade power amp to 250 or 300, is the NAC 202 still compatible? Grateful for opinions.

Reading through some ND555 posts. And Naim upgrade paths. Running a NAD D3020 fed by work PC's noisy usb out + spotify into Totem Kin Minis. The system is good enough to take me into the zone - where I can work for hours. And surprisingly, no niggles about what could be made better, upgrades etc. And at home, contemplating the next upgrade - from ND555/552/500/Kudos Super 20s to some endgame speakers. If only I can get as much pleasure from that big system from this modest sub 1K system.

Hi Guys Im asking this out of curiosity more than anything, both the Uniti Star and the NAP 200 have 70watt per channel so no difference in power, but if I took the pre amp out from the Uniti into the dedicated amp, Do you think there would be a step up in sound quality? I guess I’m trying to find out where the Uniti is among the various other Naim ranges of separates in terms of sound quality.

I was wondering if anyone has advice on totem speakers, in particular Hawk and Forest. I currently have a NAC202, NAP200DR, Hicap, NAPSC setup and am interested in the totem range. I'm keen on the Forest but a bit concerned that it may be one step too far for my set up, and that the Hawk may be a better choice. I can trial the Hawks but not the Forest. Any views would be appreciated.

I have NDS (2018) and 555DR with 252 / 300DR into SL2. Also a RP8 / Aria as my “other” source. The difference in musical involvement between RP8 and the NDS is significant. I’m trying to work out why the NDS isn’t doing it for me to the extent that I’m considering just running the RP8 and possibly buying a NAT01 instead of the NDS / 555.
