I'm considering buying a CD5 to replace my NADC541. Rest of my system: Nait5, FlatcapII, great Scanspeak home build speakers. With NAD I have experienced big problems whith CDR's (with the NADC540, not with the C541). I am wondering if anybody can...
In your opinionsThanks in advanceAlex
What tools, if any, do you use to align a cartridge on an Aro? Also, what methods do you use to check the antiskate? What about azimuth and vta?
I just purchased a Rega P9 and since it comes with RCA termination I am having a little difficulty understanding what my phono stage options are. I would like to buy the Naim prefix but I don't understand how it works with the TT having RCA. I haven't...
I've only just found out this morning. Outstanding. Above and beyond the call of duty.many thanks,AllanPS. unless your e-mail really is "doug_no_spam@aol.com" I can't get a message to you.
Took a while, but am expecting delivery of a CDX, 82, 250, Hi Cap and B+W 804's with Quadraspire reference stand next Tuesday...Despite my lusting for a CDS2, the budget wasn't there - hey, I started off with £1500 tops..!Also, seems to be so...
An appeal for advice from Naim-Shahinian owners,My setup is currently CDS1/82/Hicap/180 driving the Arcs(mkII).Since moving abroad, the brightness in the system has reached intolerable levels. Treble is seriously 'glassy/harsh' and hurts the ear. The...
Dear all,After months of slagging off the LP12 I have finally heard one that I really really liked. It was in a 52/6x135/Isobarik/all on Mana system. The LP12 had a Transfiguration cartridge on it and it's prefix was driven by a supercap. Large room,...
Finally I got my mits on the office digital camera, and these system pics seem to have come out rather well. Much better than the previous indistinct photo - bad scanner and lighting. For reference, the system is CDX/NAC 72/Hi-Cap/NAP 110/Kan...

I recently sent Linn a nice friendly (honest!) email with my experience of removing the Trampolin and it's beneficial sonic effects.Having expressed my disappointment and commented on the fact that there seems to be a large number of people in...
I've been making do with a cheapie 6way block (with lots of LEDs) and have seen a review in HFC for Maplin (ASC431) & Olson (Sound Fantastic) blocks. Anyone have any experience/opinions on these? I'm looking for alternatives to Music Works (good but expensive) and Russ Andrews (expensive and expensive and split opinion)... Cheers in advance... Steve C 01
I read the Tramplolinn posts with interest, especially the parts about post-Linn turntables from Dev.I am curious to know where do people go to after the top LP12 setup, but keeping the timing / pace and not going all clinical ?Well Tempered ?...
GentlemenI have always fancied the idea of owning a reel to reel tape deck......the ones with 8" approx diameter spools. I know nothing about them but I do fancy one.I have a few questions which hopefully some of you may be able to answer.1. Is it a...
My Akito's cueing mechanism has been problematic since I owned it. Sometimes it stays up sometimes it doesn't. For the last year it had settled down and was working fine, but now that I have it moved to a Sondek it won't stay up anymore (Viagra...
Remember that picture of Vuk holding his cat, Fluffy. Well, the cat turned on him. It's really, really ugly.Joe
Is there anybody out there using mirage speakers with naim gear?? I live in the South West & my local Radford dealer seems to rate them highly. I have the heard the om7's & was impressed with how real they sounded, Unfortunatly this was only a brief encounter!! I'm also interested in the smaller om9 model Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers for now Mad Matt
Has anyone tried deflex speaker panels from spectra dynamics? [This message was edited by Gash on FRIDAY 20 July 2001 at 02:10.]
Just a quick question that bothers me..... I have heard of people employing two power amps (biamping), how is this done with naim gear & why would I want to?? i.e What are the sonic benefits? Surely it would be better to use monoblocks albeit at a higher cost?? Thanks go to the people who answer my stupid questions!!
yesterday i saw a naim fraim rack at infidelity's -- dint have the chance to listen to it (hey, does a stand play music?) but i have to say it looks the part -- i was very impressed with the build quality and appearance. suits naim gear down to a T. i...
