I'd like to move from a K18II to an affordable MC. I presently don't have the money to make a mistake, so I'm seeking the wisdom of the forum. (Yeh, yeh, if I don't have any money what am I doing with the below system. Well, to paraphrase the Fab...
A number of people had expressed interest in my results of upgrading from a Nait 1 to Nait 2. After nine days of break-in I feel ready. So...And NOTE that I cannot vouch for the service history of either, so this is hardly a "fair" shakedown but...The...
My new (ex-dem) SBLs in cherry are arriving next week. Just a few queries.Once 'set-up' with sealant etc can they be lifted and moved around fairly easily?Their postioning in the room is fairly limited by space (the room is approx 20 x 14 foot but...
Having lived in the southern reaches of Africa for many years I have a whole bunch of plugs & sockets peculiar to that region. These are three-pin (round pin) plugs (220/240V) with no fuses (earth leakage boxes being the norm). I use the plugs on my hifi into a multiplug arrangement, such as you might buy from B&Q, which connects to the mains via a UK plug with fuse. The interesting bit (I think) is that the innards of the multiplug (socket ?) are not wired, the connections consist of three...
If I end up with a 72/hi/140 I may have to think of changing my Quad FM3 tuner to something more the size of the Naim 1/2 racks. Don't all shout 'Naim tuner', unless you are offering me one for under £100!Is there anything else available, that...
To all our radio listenersI’m one of these nostalgic guys, who still happily uses one of those (“Fat Boy”) REVOX B261 tuners.Have any of our NAIM tuner users ever done a comparison between such a REVOX and e.g.: the new 05 series, or...
I upgraded from 32.5 to 72 (with CD3/HI/250/sbl) and the latter was indeed better in most aspect but I found I could not live with it because its sound picture was extremely up-front, just like sitting in the first rows in the concert hall. I thought...
you will recall that i had my lp12 serviced at infidelity in hampton wick, london.if soft bounciness/springiness is anything to go by, then this is by far the best reset my turntable has ever had. its early days yet (i only installed it last friday,...
I am looking at upgrading my system. I presently have Denon equipment (low end) and having listened to a range of different brands, consider Naim would be a good step up for me. I have not had the opportunity to trial Naim equipment with my B&W P5 speakers, but would appreciate hearing the experiences of anyone else who runs this combination or who has trialed it. Regards from down under! Bernard Duncan
Dealer let me borrowed a LAT mains block (X8) for home trial, it's GBP 240, as I understand that it will benefit to the whole system.Or should I go for the Mana reference shelf (GBP 380) for my CD 3.5 instead, as I read so many positive things about...
today i collected and installed my cdsii. i offered to do this - the plan is that my dealer will visit to make sure all is OK in a week or so.i also collected my lp12 with its new xx2 cartridge. i haven't had the chance to install this yet.however,...

Hi, Would you have a look to the padded cell forum?I need a non Hifi (quite urgent) information, and perhaps the naim community can hepl me I have a feeling that very few people looks to the padded cell forum. It is the reason of this message in this...
Hi all. I've been offered a 72/140 'second gen' for a good price. Its recently serviced & from a dealer. Is this going to be that much better than my 32.5/110 silver end combo with thru cards? Would I be better off getting my 32.5 '72'ed' and buying lots of CD's & LPS? I will of course buy the Hi-cap involved anyhow and have a listen with my CD3.5 (back from Naim soon!) and Intro IIs. What do you lot think a good price for a 32.5/110 would be? Regards Stephen
I've finally got my room setup so that it sounds "good". The bass is under control now, and the overall presentation is quite exciting. The system is currently CDS2/82/Super/250/Albions, with the 52 delayed due to shipping errors.Even without the 52,...

Anyone seen (in flesh or photo) the new quadraspire? or read anything about it?, better still tested it? Know how much it will cost? There is no mention of it on their site.
We are just looking at some dates end of June or early August (English weather guesses) to hold a barbie in a local pub garden in Salisbury, maybe we will get Antonio to play and include a quick factory tour, small ticket charge to cover food. What do...
Is it ok to remove the fuses from the Naim power cords ? I understand that it's mandatory in the UK, but it's not here ...Thanks
Howdy folks, just 30 minutes ago,the following happened: (and it happened every time agian, and agian) I was just enjoying some music, when 'suddenly' the intercom-doorbel rang. "Hi Alco, it's Mum & Dad here" about 30 seconds later it began.... My mother walks in and stays quiet for a few second and then starts to talks about all kinds of unimportant things, my Dad looks at my new 'Sound-Factory Tripod' system-support and my just recently bought Kan-II's. yep, you guessed it... there we go...
Hi, folksAs you already might 've read,I'm thinking of buying me a TT again.I'd like to use to the bottom shelf of my Sound factory-Tripod rack to store LP's.(see picture)The second shelf to place my Nait-2 and the newTT goes on top. (on a dedicated...
