I currently use a five shelf Fraim with an lp12 on top. As our baby is soon starting to walk I am looking to buy a Tiger Paw Vulkan wall shelf. 1. What is the best way to configure the shelf? Since the Naim glass and bearings seem to work so well I would like to combine these with the shelf. Do I order the thick or thin shelf? 2. When I started to use the Fraim I could hardly believe the effect it had on sound quality. More than any black box upgrade. What effect can I expect from moving the...

I've just purchased a Naim Nait 3r as a basis for a second system in my house. Well I was floored! That first listen I was digging out tunes I haven't heard in years. I was singing along to the music at the top of my lungs! I haven't had fun like that listening to music in a very long time. I'm sure my wife and daughter appreciated my obvious talents! My main system is much more expensive (15x) than the Nait and it has all the hi-fi stuff in spades. It was just missing something and I was...

I did do a search but only found this. http://forums.naimaudio.com/topic/super-lumina-speaker-cable?reply=47323794526893983#47323794526893983 Doesnt really address the issue of the interconnect. So is the "N" on the Naim printed on the interconnect supposed to be pointing to the source or preamp?

Hi folks - appreciate your advice.I have an Xs integrated. I would like to start the upgrade path. I was thinking of adding a flatcap xs and then a Nap 155xs. Obviously then an XS 2. Is there a better upgrade path, and should I go for the xs2 at an earlier stage.Should I move away from the xs altogether and move into pre/power territory.???? Many thanks

Hello everyone, I'm wondering if a pair of used naim allae could replace my tannoy d500 mkII with a significant upgrade. Otherwise my intention is consider harbeth as alternative (c7 es3 or shl5 plus..). Any advice from your side? Thanks in advance. BR, mark

All, I have recently acquired and older serviced 200 for my SU and it is money well spent however, I think that the 4pin to 4pin is of equal age(13 yrs) with older naim logo printed on it). Is it worth changing this for a newer one or alternative brand etc? Thanks, Ray.

An odd question, given it's a Naim forum... Is anyone using Rega's Aphelion with Rega's Aria? If so, what settings are you using for the Aria? There is precious little (or actually none whatsoever that I could find) info on recommended setting for this new cartridge. By the by: my RP10 never sounded so good, as with the Aphelion... makes for a wonderful pairing with 252 :) Adam

Hi all, Am looking for some upgrade advice. My Current system is NAP 200, HI CAP-2 , NAPSC, NAC 282, XPS2, NDS and B&W 804's speakers. My gut feeling is that i should upgrade my 200 to a 250.2 DR to give a more balanced setup. I have tried to go with a source first policy so far. I have raced floors so would be slightly worried about extra boomy bass but obviously would do a home demo first. What other options do i have , would upgrading to DR make a big difference. What about the XPS2?

Mornin' all, A couple of weeks ago I invested in a SuperLine E currently powered by the 282. I haven't fully tested all the load plug combinations but have settled for 500/1nF for the moment (cart is the EMT JSD6). Compared to the StageLine it is a huge improvement and I look forward to finding the perfect load combo over the coming weeks. I picked up a SuperCap 2 DR (2014) pre-loved for what I hope is a pretty good price (45% off new) and I will collect this Saturday morning - very excited...

I have yet to try a HiCap DR with my SN2, but I am tempted to give it a go. I understand that the HiCap is for the benefit of the preamp section when used with an SN2, but does the introduction of a HiCap bring benefits to the power amp section fed from the internal power supply now relieved of preamp duties?

This morning it finally arrived. We installed the 500 head like the 250 before, on the extend level of the far right stack and the 500ps at the bottom of the midlle brawn stack. The problem occured with the CH1 Din>XLR cable that was too short to reach the Din socket of the 552ps We had to move Fraims as close as possible turning a bit the right one. Top to bottom : 555 ps, 552 ps, 500 ps CH1 Din>XLR too short DIN>XLR CH1 & 2 into 552 ps. I already asked at my usual Naim dealer...

Does anyone remember this format at all? I have a legacy Marantz DD92 DCC deck that is in need of repair but I don't know of anyone with the capability to repair it. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? Dave

I have a Qute 2 and have now purchased and connected a Nap100 to it. Is this considered a good match? I have them connected by two pretty inexpensive phono leads. Could someone suggest good phono leads? (without going too ludicrously expensive) Or what type of din leads or din to phono lead maybe a good choice? Are the qute and nap 100 both 4 pin dins? Thanks Jezza

This latest development might need some qualification. First examine my naim system profile as I do not often post . Just to give some sort of benchmark for proceedings. Recently on another blue forum I reported on my visit to Cymbiosis. This culminated in the purchase of a Linn Krystal and 576 R cryo treated Z plug. Peter Swain allowed a thorough listening evaluation to take place between the differences of my then existing Dyna XX2 versus the Krystal. The likely outcome and some of my...

A few of you guys may be aware that some time ago I was debating between speaker foams. I.e. the relatively cheap Ebay ones or the proper (and expensive) ones from tomtom audio. I knew the cheaper ones just wouldn't cut it so I bit the bullet and ordered the ones from James and Henry at tomtom. All I can say is that they are absolutely fantastic. They just look brilliant, and my SBL's look spanking new again. I am over the moon with them. Whilst they are damn expensive, the fact they look so...

A big hi to all, My gear - Sources Used - BDP via Coax, Set-top box via Optical, Computer via Coax DAC - ARCAM irDAC Amplification - Naim 5i2 Speakers - B&W 683 The reason why I started this post is, Ive read a lot of posts regarding the HUM noises when the DAC is connected to the amp, I lived with this problem for more than a year and yesterday it suddenly struck me why not add a ferrite bead near the DAC power supplies bead. And once I added it, the hum disappeared, I wanted to share...

I am upgrading my vintage Linn/Naim system. It currently consists of a LP12, Ekos with a Troika, an Arcam CD transport, an Adcom DAC, a NAC 32 upgraded to 32.5, a Hicap, 2 NAP 135s and PMS Isobariks run passively. This was mostly purchased in 1985, with some upgrades over time. No upgrades have been done for past 15- 20 years, except recapping the 32.5, the Hicap and the 135s in 2001. I will be upgrading the LP12 and going to streaming rather than CD. I have purchased a second hand Supercap...

It seems to me that a significant number of members on this forum have a degree of hearing loss or related conditions (age related hearing loss and tinnitus mostly). So as they are incurable, what are we to do? It strikes me there are two places to look to ameliorate the problem 1 Our playback equipment 2 Our ears (or rather placing hearing aids in front of them) A third possible solution (turn up the volume), doesn't seem to be a real solution in practice, particularly for those of us with...

Hi. I've just realised I've never seen a Bluetooth option in my Unitiqute 2's settings. Am I misunderstood and there was a model that didn't have BT - or am I doing something wrong?

Hello to all That it's my first post and from Spain so sorry for my english. I have a UQ2 and i can not power off with the remote, only with the rear on/off switch. UQ2 always is hot but these is not a real problem, the real problem is that the HDD 500 gb. conected to frontal USB is always on. Any suggestions?

hi folks. If fully compatible, I’m hoping to experiment a little by connecting my UnitiQute2 to my Nait 2 and use it as a streamer only - just to see if old and new can gel! I would be really grateful if someone who has actually done this, could please let me know the details as to how to set them both up properly. Questions spring to mind... 1. What is the best cable to use? (I do have a spare Chord Cobra RCA-DIN 5 Pin lead). 2. What are the optimum settings on the Qute via the Naim App /...
