thanks for clearing up the previous fuse issue, now on to this with something i forgot to mention the volume on my pc for the df dac is set to the same level that the cd player outputs this made most sense to me...which is arround 82-86, the dac goes upto 100 of course and i think i used it at arround 96 or so once, i also know know the amp is slightly underpowred for the epos es14's im using and dont want to blow anything, is there an optimal level i "should" be using this at, i use foorbar...

So, I figured I'd put on Fleetwood Mac's "Rumors" for a little "background music" while I did some work on the laptop. Didn't happen. Two tracks in and I'm locked in on the listening couch beguiled by these little gems. Next thing I know, it's been three hours and not a bit of work done. Arghhh! Still can't get over how damn fun this little system is. Guess I have to get a cheap streamer for background listening so I can get some work done.

i had skipping problems with a one year old cd5xs, i sent it for repair, before it was sent it read hdcd cd connected to spdf ndac input(,ndac with new version 4.11.8) hd light was turning on and hdcd appeared on cd5xs also and the sound of the hd was there when it's back from naim it doesn't read anymore my hdcd collection what is going on ? naim answer, it's normal now is it normal to have a downgraded repair ??? is somebody has any idea what happened? thanks

Is there a "burn in " period on a new nait XS2s intergrated internal class a headphone amp. I feel the amplifier has gone through its burn in period as its really opened up and sounds great through my AE ref 1s, now I have started using its headphone output with my Grados I feel it sounds a little dull and closed in.

Hi All, I am having trouble getting a streaming device to work properly (sync issues) on my Naim DAC (software version 4.11.8) but works fine on my friend's DAC (software version 4.11.7 - beta?) 4.11.7 v is not available on Naim's website but perhaps someone could email these file to help troubleshoot the issue, please? It's a couple of weeks now that the S600 have replaced SL2s. Although there are many positives over the former, there are other aspects of performance of which i struggle to live with. While the lower end of the spectrum seems fine to my ears, the mid bass (especially with electric bass and synths) it's sometimes too bold and overhelming. Probably like secondary effect the upper mid is not so clear like the SL2s. I also noticed that bass and baritone voices are very nice, a tad less so...

I received my XPS-DR yesterday and I'm excited to try it out. My XPS will be mated with my NAC-N 272 and 250DR combo. Even after reading the owners manual, I'm not clear on how to hook this up (!). Please provide your expert guidance. Does the power cord on the 272 remain plugged into the wall? Does the power cord on the XPS also get plugged into the wall? Or, does the does just the power cord for the XPS power both the XPS & the 272? Which do you turn on first the XPS or the 272?

Perhaps this is a dangerous question to ask on an audiophile forum, but... Are all optical digital interconnects identical in sound quality (and the price differences are from company greed)? If it's optical and digital, the signal is there or it is not. True? Maybe over distances such as the Atlantic, there is a need for signal boosting, but over 1m it's neglibable. Is my reasoning correct, therefore implying buying a £5 optical connect is less insane than buying a £100 interconnect?

If you are running a Naim DAC-V1 connected to either PC, MAC, Sonore Microrendu or any other USB interface to the Naim DAC-V1, and if have any music in 176.4/24 bit FLAC format can you please run a brief test? Hi, I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions of floor standing speakers I could shortlist? I used to have a UnitiLite and B&W CM8 S2's in a fairly small apartment (4m x 3.5m) but have since moved into a house. I upgraded to the SuperUniti but kept the speakers. I had my cdx2 upgraded last year by naim with a new mech vma1202. I leave my puck in the player now as it doesn't have rubber feet on the new puck, when I pull it out sometimes the it pulls up the magnetic ring on the transport where the cd sits between. Is this normal?. Regards Liam
