Looked threads from years ago - and looked on web for instructions - to no avail I am either dim, or it is just not clear ?! Does anyone know how to fit the packing piece to support the laser during transit - it defeats me ? Thanks for any help

Hello everyone, recently I have heard the following indications to optimize my naim gear: 1) Power strip positions: invert the order, nap 250.2 first, supercap second and xps2 third. Is this a Naim official suggestion? 2) Buy nac A5 4.5 meter lenght...at least! Are they valid or not? Thanks

I'm currently running a uniti2 with Epos Epic 5's. Which I really like but I have the opportunity to buy some second hand Proac d28 or totem Hawks at quite a good price. But I can't listen to either. Both get good reviews. Has anyone heard the Uniti2 with either of these? or any other opinions?

Please could someone tell me how the NAC 112x is an upgrade from the NAC 112. I know that the X version has the 2 RCA outputs on the back unlike the earlier version , but are there any other technical upgrades ..? I have the NAC 112x version..With the NAP 150x power amp...Thinking of an audio streamer next as am pretty new to this and am enjoying the Naim sound..Currently using a computer with streaming clients.. I was just wondering if it is possible to run S400 in active mode, looking at the 362BMR manual it suggests you can, I guess you need to purchase a two or three way cross over and a 362BMR cross over and of course additional amps. Does anybody know if this is correct and has any done this and what was your experience. I must say though my s400 sound very good in passive mode.

For my birthday this year, my fantastic family have got me a TQ ultra blue mains cable. I plugged it in to my CDX2 last night and, whilst my children slept, I had a little listen at low volume. The difference was clear. Lower noise floor, more 'air' around instruments and vocals. A cleaner, clearer presentation all round. Amazing what a decent power cable can do. Looking forward to having a good listen tonight.

Can anyone elucidate this? Whenever a significant upgrade takes place, music appears to slow down. I trust others experience a similar phenomenon. (Maybe the brain's neural firing increases its speed and the world seems slower - I could entertain that hypothesis...)

Is the only difference with the nDAC the firmware, seeing as it's been around for a while? I have the possibility of getting an nDAC second hand at a good price which is updated to the latest firmware. But is that really all ? Other changes that have occurred over the years that would point to a later model ?

Hi I have a decent size room 6 m by 8 m and currently run a superuniti with SF venere3.0 which did nothing much. I have just bought D40R (preowned) and have set them up. Crank up the volume on the SU to 50 plus and the d40R are astounding! But at lower volumes I think the SU struggles. The natural upgrade is 250dr either on its own or biamped with SU. What I would like to know if the 250dr will drive the d40r and deliver good SQ at lower volumes and any experience with biamping?

Hello everyone, I would like to try spotify on my naim gear (cds3/252/250.2) as a second source. Since I prefer to spend money to buy a nap300 and then 555ps, my budget is limited, 800-1000€. What I'm thinking is to buy a second hand uniqute or cyrus xa. Could anyone suggest me the best solution? Thanks in advance. naimark

Has anyone had problems playing MP3 files produced by an HDX? I wanted to use MP3 files in my car (using a small hard drive, but half of them don't play. However, if I drag one of the 'offending' files to a browser , then it plays perfectly. I have a feeling it's due to metadata failure, (but all the WAVs produced by the HDX play perfectly). Has anyone met this problem, and if so, how can I fix it (without editing 20 thousand metafiles)? Any hints would be most welcome! :)

Has anyone done a home demo or dealer's demo on the ATC SCM 19 v2(passive) with both NAP 250 DR and NAP 300 DR? I would be interested to know if the NAP 300 managed to bring more benefits, compared to the NAP 250 when used on the SCM 19 v2 (the latest version).

I have just bought a second hand CDX2 2006 vintage, it sounds amazing, so a good purchase. However the 'Naim arc' doesn't light up. Does anyone know if it should light up and therefore I have a fault that requires rectifying or does the Naim logo not light up on a cdx2? Or am I missing a trick?

Hi all, I know wireless headphones are much maligned, but I wanted to try and see how good they are at the moment. Got myself a pair of Sennheiser RS185, but not having much success connecting the base unit. It has two RCA's in, so I have a spare 5-pin DIN to RCA which I connected. However, I cannot get anything other than a tiny signal through the headphones. Do I need the cable to be configured a certain way for the line out through the DIN? I'm using one of the line out sockets, 3, 4 or 5...

So far I have only got Naim DACs in my system (I have two of them in different locations) but I am considering smaller / cheaper alternatives for listening in other places. For a cheap-as-chips option, has anyone tried the Audioquest Beetle? It seems to get good reviews although the analogue output is only a 3.5mm jack which seems a bit limiting. I just shipped my SN out to California from NC (pretty much the full east-west width of the USA) and the buyer said everything looked fine when he got it. I double box (with the original Naim box & packing as the inner) and pack the s*** out of things when I ship. Is there a safe way of packaging four Fraim shelves without using the original Naim boxes? Has anyone tried? Any advice would be most appreciated.

I have ordered a 300DR to replace my 250.2 so need reorder my brain and brawn Fraim stacks. Should I place my 252 below the cd555 and place the Superline below my 252 or place 252 below both the CD555 and Superline? I've tried searching the forum on the appropriate order but can't find SQ preference for this particular scenario. As always, advice appreciated from anyone with similar setup. Thanks Hutch
