I'd be grateful for some guidance on the following: In my main system, my current set-up includes an LP12 via Stageline into a NAC 282 and NAP 250. (I also have a Bluesound streamer plugged into a DAC which is powered by an XPS). I had the 282 powered by two Hi-Caps but the long-term intention was only to have one Hi-Cap. I was only keeping the second one warm by using it until I could transfer it to a second system in another room but this required various changes in the other room so I had...

I am having some issues with a lack of upper bass in my active Briks set up. I was wondering if it might help if I made small adjustments to the frequency settings and raised the bass-mid changeover levels slightly to put a bit more through the bass drivers. I have not actually messed around inside a SNAXO before so this is purely theoretical at the moment but I know you can adjust them for different speakers.

hi all, I've been offered to upgrade from the former to the latter system for a reasonable (I don't think we're allowed to state second hand prices on here are we? Say approx cost of a 300DR is perhaps acceptable. Any thoughts? I'm sorely tempted. I've no interest in LP12 (too much faff) so Aphelion aside this could be the top of the vinyl tree for me. Anything I'm missing that would mean so not to jump at the chance?

Hi, I'm new to the forum and would like some advice. I have a Naim Unitiqute 2, Guru junior speakers with an Rega RP3 in my lounge. We have double doors that lead from the lounge to conservatory/study and would like sound to that room. My question, what's the best way to connect another pair of speakers? Will this effect sound and can I operate the volume separately if in my study? My listening distance from the speakers is a metre, so need to be very compact. Any recommendations on budget...

Really excited as my new S800's are arriving this week. Couldn't test them at home as now discontinued of course but having spent 15 years with my DBL's I'm now looking forward to setting them up. I've got a passive system with NDS, 552DR & 500. Will have to find a good home for my DBL's. Anyone have any bright ideas on where to advertise as they are a rather specialist and unusual? Hi Recently defected to Linn (sorry) with the latest version MDSM and Kudos Cardea Super 20's having had some issues with a UQ2/NAP100. Ideally I'd like to bi-amp the Linn but the Kudos are single wire only so that scuppers that a bit. I don't want to just buy a Majik power amp as it won't give me any more wpc wise than the MDSM does. Hi guys, need some help making a decision here... I'm currently running a Musical Fidelity cd transport into an Ndac, with external power supply. This then feeds into an XS2, followed by Proac D20Rs. I'm of the opinion that the XS2 is not giving the Proacs the juice for them to really sing, so have been looking at replacing it. There seem to be various 250 power amps on sale s/h. Would there be a benefit to replacing my nap200 with one of these with my Ovator 400? Has anyone else done actually this rather than theory? Is it a straight swap or more complex in terms of cables thanks

Following my previous post, it looks like I listen at least 15 to 20 dB lower than the other contributors (between 50 and 60 db). I mainly listen to my Harbeth P3 (latest model). Are there any speakers that would perform better at these levels? Thanks!

Hi, I have a Naim V1 Dac I bought in November 13, since updating the firmware to 1.6 I am getting a "DSPDAC Reg18(W) Fail", at first it was just a couple of times, now its once a week and I have to turn the Power off and on to Clear the error. The last time I made an upgrade to my amplification I choose to upgrade my preamp rather than my power amp going from a Nac 112 to a 122x keeping my Nap 150, my question now is do I upgrade my 150 to a 200 or my 122x to a 202? I know a Nac 282 is better than a 202 and I know a 250 is better than a 200 in most peoples opinion but my spending level is not up to those kind of upgrades at present. The sound of my records has not been that chuffing me that much lately. Thin, bass-shy, slightly distorted. Were my DV 20x2L and allegedly matching phonostage a mistake? My DV p75 III has had its jumpers faffed with. I've gone from phono-enhanced to normal and back again. And again. I've faffed with bias adjustments on my Ittok LVII, a different stage has been considered. Wow. I have just added the SL IC ans SL 4-pin SNAXO cable to my 500/300/500 and I am somewhat speechless. So much more from the mid range (probably across the range, but this is what stands out to me). I've read a few posts regarding low volume listening and speakers choice with some contributors mentioning that they listen to around 65db to 75db when they want a low volume. To check with my own tastes, I downloaded a db app and 65 to 75 seems very loud! I listen mainly between 50 and 55. Are my ears too sensitive or is my app not working?
