Looking at upgrading my speakers. Going from NAIM S400 to either ProAC D30R or D48R. Was looking at the S600, that is now off the table for obvious reasons. I have a 252/300 to drive them & my room is 10m x 5m with speakers firing across the short wall. The D48R has moved from the carbon woofers to the ProAC treated paper (I think) but the D30R still has the carbon woofer from the K and Carbon Pro series? Question, so the D30 may have the better quality woofer ? My dealer in Australia...

I am just curious, why when running power supplies (ie.HICAP), does the audio signal get re-routed through them? If its purpose is just to power your pre-amp, why not leave the power amp connected directly to the pre for the audio signal to have its minimal path? Of course, I am probably missing something here :P

hello all How does one connect a NDX to a Hugo? Is it through BNC to RCA and then use Coax on the Hugo?

Guys I need some advice on how to handle waiting which is ahead of me. I have xps dr on order. It was supposed to come some time ago but I'm still waiting. Another weekend is here and still nothing. Any ideas? ;)

My next foray into the Naim price list will probably be based on power supplies. i currently have LP12, Cdx2 and Tidal/ internet radio via my 272 as sources (used 40/40/20 of the time) going through a 250dr into Neat Momentum Sx3i's. Depending on how good I am at saving up over the next few months, the options might be two Xps' or possibly one 555. Queries are (1) if it was only one Xps, or one 555, where should I put it. I had assumed source first, but do see the logic of putting it on the...

I hear from a reliable source that the 372 will be released in a 'few months' time. It will provide sound quality 'within a hair's breadth' of an NDS and 252 when powered by a 555PS, but can also be powered by an XPS or XP5XS. At a price around £6,000 this will be the product many have been waiting for. Whether it means that the 202, 282 and 252 can be retired is another matter altogether. I suppose it means that an evening job at the pub will be required, but never mind.

Looks gorgeous. Seems to hark back to big driver and horn loaded classics. Has so far had great reviews. Get the big room sound in a small room. Has modern day sensibilities towards high resolution. Can go tight against walls . Is said to have a big fun factor when turned up , but still give the beans at low volume. Sounds like my dream speaker at a not too incredulous price point .

Current system :- Synology NAS -> Mac Mini running Audirvana -> DAC-V1 -> NAP 300 (waiting to be DR'd) -> Spendor A9. I only listen to digital sources. Upgrade Option 1 :- Adding 282 or 252 and Supercap, and changing the DAC-V1 for a Hugo (not the TT version) Upgrade Option 2 :- Don't add a pre-amp, and invest budget in top quality DAC instead (eg. Chord Hugo TT, or even Chord DAVE) I definitely want remote volume control - and not via using the Audirvana + volume control. Now I...

250.2 is 10 years old so around service time NDS has an XPS2 power supply Recent supercap DR on the 252 Option 1 Service and DR upgrade 250 Option 2 555ps on NDS Can't do both and NAP 300 not an option due to space im not able to upgrade the Naim cable to the new expensive type it's embedded below a fireplace hearth - seen some comment on the 250DR needing the expensive cable to sound right ? Any advice welcome

I was using an 'old' XPS Burndy (borrowed) with my recently acquired 555DR and yesterday received a new SXPS Burndy in the post. To my ears it has improved what the 555 does for my system by quite some measure. Does anyone know if there was a significant improvement in the design of the cable in the SXPS version?? It might just be my ears playing tricks!!

Dear all, I have a question. actually I use NAC72, Hicap & NAP250. connected with NAC72 is a DJ Set - mixer DJR400 and two phono Technics MK2 are connected with the mixer. now I think about to skip the NAC72 and Hicap - I mean I like to connect the mixer DJR400 direct with NAP250. the NAP 250 has a 3-pol connection. The mixer has a chinch output. is this working? I can`t find the right cable to connect the mixer with the NAP250 would be nice if somebody can help me. Tobias

Having recently upgraded, I was organising the departure of my old amp as you do. I'd been sold it as an XS2, and the box clearly states 'XS-2'... Embarrassingly, I didn't check the serial number or the back of the amp. The serial number on the box matches that on the amp, and is a number from 2012. The back of the amp also reads 'XS'. It doesn't really matter now - the (well known non specialist, non auction site) seller I got it from may or may not have known he was over selling it... But...

Been a while since I posted - recent changes warrant a quick post. Two small upgrades - a) A local Seattle company makes good cables for general use. Blue Jeans cables. Bought several Cat 6a spec cables. These seem to work as good or better than expensive AudioQuest Vodka and Chord Silverstream cables. Can't do much about the cables in the walls, but have converted all exposed wiring using these cables. b) Tripp-Lite -ISOBAR6ULTRA They make great surge protectors for general use. EMI/RFI...

Well, have had some trouble enjoying the music recently, well actualy since the initial wow of the supernait wore off. Up to a certain point I began to doubt the Snait from a technical point of view. The system sounds off after some running. Harshish. Also imaging from one of the chanels/speakers wasn't quite the way it should. A visit to the dutch importer (thanks for that great morning) had me convicend my late 2010 Ex-Dem Snait was ok trough its analog inputs (didn't try the dac, foolish...

Dear members, I've had a search through past posts and was surprised not to find anything on this topic. If i own a Hiline DIN/DIN is there any option to get one end reconfigured to RCA's ? Is it a job for HQ, or is it not even an option? Many thanks in advance for your shared wisdom.

Hi! buying a Naim Amp, say a Supernait2, is the standard DIN Cable included or do I have to buy it separately? Thanks for your answers! Marco

I think one of my BNC's is giving trouble again, but rather than clean it up and reuse I intend to replace it with a new one. (hang the expense). I seem to remember though that they come in different resistances: 75 or 50 Ohm. Can someone please remind me? Thanks.

I own an ND5 XS. Love Naim streaming and the associated app. Need to get an amp to drive Spendor speakers. Can pursue one of two opportunities: (1) Sell the ND5 XS and pick up a used SuperUniti. Or, (2) Keep the ND5 XS and buy a Nait XS 2 (current 70-watt model) or an older XS (the 60-watt model). Advice welcome, except please don't tell me to "audition at the dealer" since I have no dealer even remotely nearby. Thank you.

Hi guys, I own a grey standard Naim I/C modified by the Naim dealer from DIN to DIN to DIN to RCA. I used to use this cable to connect my previous CD5i-2 to my NAD S300. At the moment I have an opposite situation, I need to connect my BR player Oppo BDP83 to my Supernait 2 and I do not know if I can use the same cable or I need a new cable. Are the internal wiring connections different between DIN to RCA (my cable) and RCA to DIN. Any suggestion? Regards

I have a NAC 62 and NAP 140, I leave the power on all of the time. When I play a cd (Naim CD5) the left channel distorts for a few minutes then clears. I would guess if this was a capacitor issue then it wouldn't clear. Anyone had this?

My Cds3 (2009 vintage with newer transport) has just started to misbehave. Tonight it Has been sounding as if the motor is spinning for no apparent reason when no disc was loaded, this is accompanied by the laser being lit. When a cd is loaded it seems to have trouble loading the TOC and then it will stutter during playback. No error code is shown (I do run it with the display off - if that makes any difference to error codes showing). I have just noted this behaviour tonight although my...

Until a few days ago I thought I new the 2 different burndy models for the current Naim ps's. The old gray model, and a black model not that new either, but the black should be much better than the grey one! But now people are talking about the SXPS Burndy being different from the black burndy. I wonder if I have the sxps model, with a burndy that is about 8 years old. Claus
