initial thoughts - amp upgrade from xs2 gives, as expected, more of everything. Balance control is very useful in my room given a seemingly unavoidable bias to the right that's occurred through 2 previous amps... Speakers are, as you'd hope, a leap up from Q acoustics c40. All out of the box new so will see what occurs over the next few weeks/months...

I have a problem for my supernait 2 reciving infrared beams from the remote since it's blocked by the edge of my bed in my bedroom. I try to connect the NDX remote out to the supernait 2's remote in with a 2 sided 3.5mm jack and turned on preamp from the system automation so I can control the volume with my iPad. But now I encounter a problem when I try to change songs on Naim app my supernait 2 channel will bounce from CD (where I connect the NDX from) to aux1. Is this a know problem? Any...

I have a 32 preamp. Everyone keeps asking if it has the 32.5 upgrade. I am not sure. It does have the 5 PIN connector on the back allowing it to be powered by a HiCap. Does this mean it is equal to a 32.5? If not what do I need to do to bring it to 32.5 status? Thanks.

Just two quick questions to the almighty forum: 1. When sending a 500 for DR, you only need to send the amp, PS stays at home? 2. When DR + service it, both boxes are sent? Thank you in advance //Jonas

I've just installed my brand new Supernait 2: everything seems to be working except that the hdd selector on the front panel (which I press to listen to my NDX) won't light itself when I press it. It plays music correctly though. Did this allready happen to someone else? Is there a way I can fix this by myself or should I send my SN back to Naim? Regards, Arnaud

I know I read about this lately but search is not enabling me to find the post, which if my memory serves seemed to suggest a specific order for of plugs on a powerstrip, starting with poweramp and then maybe leaving an empty socket? I'm going to be doing a bit of cable dressing in the next few weeks so I thought I'd try this put too, so suggestions or a link to the post would be welcome.

For some reason when lifting tonearm it swings to right checked lp12 to see if it's level and no problem there

Just a question regarding the link plugs as the manual is not to clear as it only shows when connected to HC & NAPSC together. If connecting ONLY a HICAP, do I still need to remove the blanking plug fitted on link 1? or can I leave it in place? or it makes no difference? Thanks!

Hi all, Just have some lovely 'new' used equipment hooked up into my system but unable to get any sound out of it. Boxes; NAC 202, NAP 155XS, Hicap and NAPSC and Stageline. Tried to connect as per the manuals but nothing is happening. I mean everything lights up but no sound. Hmmmm. I'm aware I can connect the 202 via the 155 but as I already have the other boxes, wanted to use them to reap the extra benefit. Checked for sound with three different inputs; vinyl, CD and streamer. No joy from...

Hi All I've just received a new nap 300 Dr for a week demo to match with my Nac 282 + Hi_CAP DR to replace my Nap 250-2. I connected the cables according to specifications on manual but no sound appears. I checked again and again the connection but nothing happens. I can hear a very weak sound just if I turn the knob of volume to max and I put my ear very near of the loudspeaker. If you connect the nap 300 to a no naim pre with a balanced cable it works. So i presume the problem is in other...

The proverbial question. Is it best to leave your system on permanently or switch things off after use. What if you only play your music once a week for an hour or so. Does it really damage the system switching off and on each day. Or is this an old geeks tale. I am genuinely interested in what people have to say on this.

Hi all, feeling rather out of my depth here as I'm at such an early stage of my Naim adventure (and knowledge!). I've been running a chrome bumper Nac42/Nap110 combo for the last couple of years (having stepped up from an old Aura Evolution VA100) and am looking to upgrade with modest funds. Everything I'd read and heard suggested getting a Hicap would be a worthwhile upgrade and I've recently done just that, only to discover that my Nap42 does have the 5-pin Snaic output (later 42.5s do...

I know you can run a pre/int and a stageline but can you run two source units eg: cd5 and stageline? System is Rega P6, Stageline, Nait5i2 and Rega RS 1's. CD would be added later. Debating to get a flatcap2 now or save for hicap and worry about the rest later. I inherited an amazing record collection so vinyl is most important.

My 300 came out of the system just over a week ago to catch an early courier to Naim. We are not quite without music, but a MuSo and a couple of B&O radios cannot match the main system and my Roksan is sitting completely redundant. My 300 will not be the only one away at Naim at the moment. Wouldn't it be great if Naim posted, somewhere on this forum, where boxes were in the process, from 'received at Naim' through the various stages (how many?) to 'ready for dispatch'?

Hi guys, I'm an happy owner of a SN2 and CD5XS both supplied by a Dual TC. My loudspeakers are KUDOS C20. I was thinking to upgrade my source and I was evaluating about the NDAC to be connect to my CD5XS throught BNC coaxial output or change the CD5XS with a bare CDX2.2 Some of you have compared the above configuration? If I change the source I was thinking also to sell the DTC to get some money but I do not know what I may lose to disconnect the DTC to the SN2, can the downgrade being...

As per title, Happened around ten minutes after playing some music, everything was fine, i took out a cd, placed in another, sat back down & nothing, flashing volume no sound! Everything is connected correctly using the phono inputs with Chord cable, same with speaker cable, why would it be working fine then stop like this, i had the volume set to 9 o clock, a very moderate level. Very concerned as i have just splashed out £400 for this second hand, guy dropped it off in person &...

I have been living with my Mu-so for six months now, and I've got some cash which will allow me to move on, and I am seeking advice. I love the sound and ease-of-use of the Mu-so and would be quite happy to stay with it, but I miss the stereo image. I generally listen to stuff from a NAS. SO: what I am looking for is something that has the same 'sound', but a precise stereo image. I have a budget of about £6500. Suggestions would be warmly appreciated: it might be worth adding that the...

Hi there, does anyone know what makes a NAC72S different from a NAC72? I believe the S may be an early version of the 72, before it introduced a CD input, but are there any significant internal differences? Cheers Ian

Hello to everyone. I am a new and satisfied owner of a UL. I am thinking of upgrading it with an addition of a NAP 200. I have 2 very specific and interrelated questions and I will very much appreciate some help. 1. will there be any significant difference in sound quality? 2. if yes, will it be significant enough to justify the "investment"? My speakers are Harbeth P3ESR and my room is about 30m2. And I do not want to trade in my UL for something else. Thank you in advance to anyone who...

Has anyone experienced a Narcom 4 remote handset going AWOL, ...as in falling off the perch, ...as in croaking, ...as in stopped working completely ? And, yes, I've changed the batteries to a known good pair. There just 'aint no infra red light emmitting from it at all. And, no... I don't own a dog, and I've checked for cat's teeth marks... there are none, and the grandkids haven't been around for a while. So all obvious causes have been investigated. Anyone else had this happen, or got any...

Hello everyone, Does anyone know if it is ok to use the mains outlet switch on the wall to turn Naim equipment on/off (instead of the switches behind Naim boxes)? I have a Nap 200 that is positioned in a very hard to reach place so I have been using the mains outlet switch on the wall to turn on /off when needed (I leave the Nap 200 power button on the 'on' position). Is it likely to cause problems? Many thanks in advance Yiannis

I am going to try using a new 250 without a preamp. Anybody know where I can get the appropriate RCA--> Stereo XLR cable? Doesn't look like Naim makes one. My DAC also has balanced out so maybe that is the appropriate path?
