Would like to put as close to wall as possible. Thanks.

...... it probably is! A couple of weeks ago I thought my system had started to sound a bit thin and tinny, especially on CD replay. Never really thought enough about it to check it out. Today I picked up a new Interconnect from Peter for my CD555. I wanted to hear the new cable in my system after hearing it at Whittlebury in one of the Cymbiosis rooms. I went to disconnect the HI-line and the back half was hanging off. Thought to myself that it didn't look good and put the new cable on the...

A friend of mine mentioned to me the other week that lp12's don't like to be sat on a wooden shelf. I have an old target wall shelf with the wooden shelf. Decided today to have a change around, I've taken my CD player and flatcap off my fraim and replaced with my phone stage and put the lp12 on top shelf. Why have I wasted my lp12 on the old wall shelf! Fraim has brought the lp12 to life. It sound like a different turntable. Seems such a bigger sound, the soundstage has transformed, clarity...

I have found on Facebook a page titled "High End Audio For The Passionates" It contains hundreds of photos of gear and speakers (including Naim) which is better viewing than Playboy. There are so many wildly extravagant set ups and drool worthy photos I love it! For those who love Horn speakers and tubes there is also "Big Ole Horns" it is hours of fun to admire.

Currently using an NAC 32 with a Hicap. I have just removed my phono boards and notice a huge improvement in all areas. Should I remove the tape buffer boards also?

Considering the potential for cost savings in taking a Mac & DAC approach to a digital source as opposed to a dedicated streamer (money which could be invested elsewhere in the system), I am interested in what it actually is about a dedicated streamer that may confer benefits to SQ that we may consider is worth that additional outlay. Of course in the real world the DACs are likely not the same, and I appreciate that in auditioning the two we may well simply prefer the streamer (or not...

There are any number of threads on this forum where grounding is discussed, but all of them leave me confused and none-the-wiser. Can anyone point me to a 'grounding for dummies' thread or reference where I can learn from a starting point of total confusion ? I have seen in various places references to :- signal ground, mains ground, star earth ground, there's the 'floating' or 'chassis' ground switch on the back of equipment, Naim's preference for the source component to be grounded, even...

Want to share some findings, the system is 3xPowerline, CD5x, NaitXS, FC2x, Hiline, Audiovector SR3 Avantgarde Arrete, 2x7m Naca5. Normally connected FC2x tsomethingo both CD5x and NaitXS. Now connected also Stageline direct to NaitXS. And had a feeling I lost some clarity on CD replay, missing something. I disconnected the Stageline again, better. But also tryed disconnect the FC2x from the NaitXS and now just more relaxed, not so forwarded and easier listening like sort of better balance,...

Not sure if this question should be in this forum or the strep forum! I replaced my Linn system (Genki, Kolektor, LK140) with a Unitiqute 2 and am absolutely loving it. I have started listening to my music again!!!!! I am currently using my old Linn Tukans. To my ears the combo is good but I am itching to change the speakers. I am trying to sort out a short list for audition. I like the reports of the Neat Motive SX2s but I fear the Unitiqute may be underpowered for them. With the Tukans (4...

I like to keep all one brand in my rack, it looks neater for me. I would love to have a Naim DAC with a power supply upgrade both the size of the HiCap (or DAC V1) which could both sit nicely on one shelf of my rack. Is it possible or desirable to fit the full sized DAC into a smaller box for this purpose? Does anyone else like the idea?

As most of the naim's users, in order to get better sound, I always set my 282 display light off, but sometimes after I using the remote control to adjust the volume, the display light could not automatically turned off! Can anybody share if you have the same experience and solution?

Many many years ago, indeed just after we 'went active' with our SBLs, I started experimenting with non-Naim cables for both power and speaker cable; the latter was driven primarily by trying to manoeuvre 4 x 8m lengths of NAC5 cable that just did not want to bend. Eventually we settled on standard power cables, a dedicated spur of Kimber 8TC, with Nordost Blue Heaven i/cs and speaker cable. Shortly after moving to Suffolk the BH was replaced with Red Dawn. The spur was the thickest mains...

At present I have a Nac202 / Nap200 / Flatcap2x LP12 / Lingo3 & stageline. I can afford one hicap at present, should I use it to power the stageline or the pre amp ? I'm not sure what would give the biggest benefit. Any one on the forum went for a similar upgrade

I love using the Knosti vinyl machine ..lol... However I have ran out of liquid. Can anyone tell me what mixture levels to use of isopropyl in order to clean about 40 albums. As a matter of interest how often to people clean their vinyl collection.

Hi All, I have just bought 2 Fraims and was hoping for your advice regarding rack layout Rack1 is 1 tall shelf & 2 standard shelves and rack2 is 4 standard shelves I have an AV-AMP (tall shelf?), NAC-N 272, NAP250 DR, XPS DR, Freesat box & BDP to rack I realise I may be steered by 'brains & brawn' school of thought but suggestions are welcome

Would be pleased to hear what folks out there have thought about " mains upgrade " and how effective they found it compared to upgrading their system Personally it has been the best upgrade I have made and the sound improvement was as much as someone spending thousands to get the same improvement though its not a secret but people do underestimate how important it is to have a good mains signal ( its as important as having your ears waxed ! )

I bought a power meter from Amazon and plugged my gear into it (via wireworld matrix). Power consumers are 2*555DR, 552DR, 500ps, Nat01ps, Unitiserve and V1Dac. At idle, these are consuming 122w, going up to 150w at my normal listening level. If my maths are right, this means that leaving it switched on all the time is costing me about €12 per month. Anyone else tried this?

I went on Friday and was very impressed with this demo : the performance of the new B & W speakers, the technology behind the new developments, and the amount of R&D which B&W say they have put in to them. I’d recommend anyone going to the show to seek out this demo (I stumbled on it by chance, just before a session started). I have Allaes, having previously had 14 years with B&W P4s, mainly with an Arcam system. I’ve been keeping half an ear(!) open to Kudos S20s and Ovator...

Hi - this is a bit of a dumb question but hopefully someone can help. I've got a 62/90 combo, but I can't for the life of me remember whether the SNAIC cable belongs with the NAP or the NAC. I think it's the NAC, but can't be sure - can anyone help?

Hi all, Newbie here with a question regarding Naim CD players. I've been pondering with the idea of purchasing a new CD player for my system and I've noticed the CD5 pops up on eBay quite frequently and therefore have thought about purchasing one especially as I have a Flatcap 2X that I could potentially use with it. However I do worry about the longevity of a secondhand unit especially in regards to the tray mechanism and wondered what peoples thoughts on the performance of the old CD5...

Hi folks, I am pleased to share some of my recent listening experience with all of you. I usually listened two to three hours of pop music after work and before sleeping. I noticed some changes(positive I think) with my humble system. There is no changes either the power cords or the speaker cables. For your information, my little humble system is as follows namely: CDS3/XPS2/122x/HC/150x and Neat Petite SX. Much micro dynamics and low-level details can be listened easily and the details are...
