With Naim Fraim and Fraimlite being beyond my budget for a 5 tier support, does anyone have any experience/views of Hifi Racks Ltd Podium XL supports. They seem well made and look good, and at half the price of the Fraimlite look good value to. Thanks also for your suggestions for upgrade to amplification last week. NAC 282/Hicap on the way!! Regards

I am thinking of buying some SL2s to put in place of my SBLs. Would I need to change the settings on my SNAXO? Bruce

Hi all. Just a quick feel-good post to say what a great machine the NDX is... and a few other bits and pieces. I'm nearing four years with mine and I'm every bit as pleased with it now as I was in the beginning. I don't doubt it'd be capable of even more with an XPS but given I don't aspire to (nor can afford) much beyond my current setup, it's especially pleasing it has such a complete, balanced sound without an additional power supply. I love the way it digs right down deep to the lowest...

There are lots of very informative posts regarding black boxes on the forums but less regarding speaker cable and specifically Super Lumina. For anyone who helped out on my SC DR vs HC DR saga this is a new element while I'm waiting for the SC to be checked out for a possible issue; for the rest of you I hope it informs a bit. So I'm listening through NDX/282/HC DR/250 DR/SP2'S. And Super Lumina. A few days ago it was my 25+ yr old bi-wired Linn enormous black stuff. Turned out it was this...

Hi All I have an LP12 with Prefix inside connected to the Phono port on my Uniti2. Its not bad, but I do have a little hum and static which is noticable and distracting during quiet passages of music. The grounding wire is not connected to anything, because there is no binding post on the back of the Uniti2. I have tried chassis and floating ground on the Uniti2 and unsuprisingly there is no obvious difference so I have left it on floating. When I hold the grounding wire on the back of the...

I did little experimenting tonight with my power distributors. Some time ago I ordered Furutech e-TP60 power distributor to replace my music-line power distributor. It was a blind buy since there was a great offer going on. I thought that there's little risk since Furutech is quite popular among Naim users and e-TP60 had got good reviews. Well the distributor arrived back then and I just plugged it in and lived happily on after that. It was about 3-4 months ago. I used music-line's Naim...

so, dear brethren, let us shun this Albigensian heresy of utilizing third party power cords for your Naim gear like, mea culpa, i am doing now having a Supra LoRad on my amp. ok, on a more serious note. PL, they say, helps to reduce noise from the mains and increase musicality altogether, right? and is that true?.. may everyone feel free to step forward and testify.

i can do one of two upgrades. My system is a NAC-N 272, NAP-200 (2014 ish, non-dr), Linn Majik 140's, LP-12 etc. Would adding a XPS-DR power supply to the NAC-N 272 or upgrading the 200 to a 250DR be the best route to travel. I think the system sounds pretty great as it is, but generally do one upgrade a year.

Hi all. currently run a bare supernait and prefer it without a hicap after a trial period, So wondering how the supernait 2 compares with the SN1. hear some people saying the SN2 is more mature but ultimately less involving than  a bare SN1 . All views and experience`s  welcomed Clintyboy

I just borrowed a NAC-N172xs from my dealer to try in another room, but it has the 'wrong' remote handset. I found the posts from 2014 which told me then to press AUX + i + 5 all at once... and it worked OK. So here's my question... when you send this key combination to the preamp (N172 in this case), what exactly is changing? Is the preamp changing it's code page setting to align with the remote handset, or is the remote handset changing itself to align with what the pre wants to see ? For...

Hi there, wondering if someone can help me, I have a supernait pre powered by a flatcap2 and a stageline powered off aux2. 1. Is there any benefit powering the stageline off the flatcap2 rather than Aux 2 2. If so, can someone explain how do I configure it, I can't find a diagram showing how to do it cheers Matt

Little Dot Mark 3. As some will have gathered I am happier with mono replay than stereo, and about thrirty to forty per cent of the recording I own are pure mono, so that I am using one ESL 57 these days. How I have my pair of ESLs home again after selling them is another story, but I also currently have my NAP 100 also. This one I never really tried to sell very much. The thing that has changed is that I have the Little Dot performing the function of pre-amp with the MAC Mini summing to...

Given the sheer volume of Naim boxes over the decades and the mind boggling variations of putting together a Naim system, a large Venue with 15 -20 rooms with systems - ranging from CB Naits to early actives - olive 6 packs - bolt down classics - rareties - one offs - new Statements . A couple of rooms from personally contributed systems from owners etc. you get car expos from mini and VW owners showing their beloved belongings to share with others that's endorsed by the manufacturers, why...

Well, had the serviced 135's plugged in for a couple of weeks now...... WOW omg these are 28 years old omg omg omg. my set up has just been open to the universe. I would say you have no idea but I guess you do. i have them stacked on a naim fraim base which is the icing on the cake, they have open up a part of my life that I just can't describe. From this experience..(I've gone around the mulberry bush only once) i would start where I will finish. The first buy would be a naim fraim then...

I was reading a thought provoking article by Bob Stuat at the AES on what constitutes high resolution audio. Here is my summary of his article. Firstly he makes a good comment, that in hi res audio we tend to borrow many metaphors and adjectives from the visual world such as focus, transparency and definition, where he maintains hires audio should be natural, resembling real life, and sounds should have clear depth and positioning and seperate readily into perceptual streams, particularly...

I currently have a NAC152 XS partnered with a NAP155 XS I have just acquired a NAP250DR but intend to partner it with a NAC-N 272 which I haven't yet bought Does anyopne see any issues with swapping out the 155 with the 250 at this stage? I can then at least get sight of what it's capable of and begin to run it in

Hi folks. I’m seriously thinking of switching my old CB Naim 2 in my office system for a more modern integrated amp. A 2nd hand Supernait MK1 being at the top of the list, although, I am open minded about exploring other avenues. The new unit must have either an iOS remote control app or a dedicated independent remote - important as the amp has been located out of arms reach after an office redecoration. Funds limit the switch to the first SN version only i’m afraid. But in time a Hi-Cap...

Hi, I'm trying to use a 72 with a Nap 90/3 (slimline), doesn't seem to work unless I Hicap the 72, can't I just use the 72 with the 90/3?

What is wrong with my system?! NDX/282/250/Spendor SB2/3. I've spent 10 hours up and down, up and down comparing a SC DR I'm meant to be in process of buying to my HC DR. Track after track the SC gives more mid range and base, a richer quality that smooths the brightness of the HC and a bigger soundstage - but at the very expensive cost of vocals which, instead of playing up front as they do with the HC, get pulled almost into the background. With the HC I'm aware of the vocals without...

I appreciate that the longer term solution will be to acquire some new racking like the 4 level Naim Fraim, but until I have saved enough pennies, I am looking for a temporary solution to having to place my Hi-cap and the Stageline that it is powering directly on top of my 250dr which sits on the bottom shelf of my current furniture ( a three level Sound Organisation table spiked into the carpet). I tried placing them on the carpet - definitely worse as was putting them anywhere the 272 on...

Hi there my XPS2 is a 2007 model and I would be sending for service next year. How much of a difference is the DR version v the non DR version. I did done the same with a Supernait with a DRd Hicap and this was well worth it. System is 82/250.2/SC PMC Fact 3s

Hi there, Merry Christ & Happy New Year. I took delivery of a set of Naim Statement a couple of months ago. The set has been running 24/7 since then. My issue is that listening to it literally gives me a mild headache. Only one other component has done this to me. I am really at a loss on how this can be. Need some advice. Anyone with similar experience at all. I did some experiment swapping amps with other brands & discovered that the is the...
