CD3.5 player skips very occasionally. Is the laser mech still supported by Naim on this model?

I'm thinking about purchasing the soon to be released Metrum Menuet DAC to replace my current TeddyDAC. I'm wondering if there are any Metrum DAC users on the forums & interested in what model, your thoughts & how it pairs with Naim gear? From what I have read, seems like it could be a good match but I haven't heard one of their dacs in person. The NACA5 cable, is it the same material on both wires? Does it matter if the positive, (ie "edged") side is connected to the negative output of my amp and negative terminal of my speakers. Reason I ask is I will have to resolder the plugs otherwise. They seem to be identical is all.

After service, are items returned basically functioning as if they were brand new? Is there any advantage in returning the kit to Naim HQ for service as opposed to using Naim Approved Service Centres? would there be any difference in the work carried out? Thanks PS I'm in the UK.

I wanted to test my shiny new 250DR against the old NAP 500, driven by NDAC and 552 Well the short story is that the NAP 500 is much superior to the NAP250 DR (no surprises) here. I have a 52, SC, 135s and Sonus Faber Olympica I s. The source is a nDAC /mini mac. I just sent the 4 olive units off to be serviced and in the meantime bought the PS 555. Actually I prefer the presentation of both 200/300, the 250.2 non DR is not my favor. Can anybody share if the presentation of 250.2 DR is closer to 200 (lean and fast), or 250.2 non DR (fat/slow/bassy)? Just about to have the lounge revamped and real hardwood flooring installed. Clearly, metal spikes (fine for carpets) under speaker stands and equipment racks would damage the new expensive flooring. Hi, Been playing a lot of vinyl recently and started to notice some annoying static distortion build up half way through the sides of some records. Most recent was whilst playing180g copy of Welcome Back My Friends from ELP. Problem gets sorted by lifting the Aro up off the record and replacing it. flipping annoying and can't remember it happening in the past. Cartridge is a relatively new XX2 Mk 2 and tracking been checked ok. I do tend to play with the lid down Any ideas would be welcome.

I use a mini-PC for music playback (lossless, FLAC via JRiver and Roon) with the USB connection to my DAC-V1.. Now considering to move to the S/PDIF interface which means I need to invest in a good quality USB-to-S/PDIF converter, I read that this could improve sound quality due to the isolation of the PC electronic noise... I recently replaced my SBL tweeters with new Scanspeak D2008s and am finding the replacements too bright and edgy after many many hours of use. I want to replace them again. Can I use Credo tweeters? Were the original SBL tweeters ferro fluid cooled? Anyone?

Just listening at low levels through my NDX which runs through a NAC 202 & NAP 200, when the music stopped. Both the 202 & 200 were dead, and when I touched the 200 it was almost too hot to hold my hand on. This had obviously tripped or fused the the 200 hence the 202 being out too. I have checked for a speaker shorting out, but looks ok. I guess this is a trip back to Salisbury for the 200. Anyone else had any issues? The 200 is about 8 years old. Andrew

I just bought a NAP150 that I missed on ebay a couple of weeks earlier. The ebay buyer is moving to another direction and I was lucky enough to grab this. However, I could not find any info on the web and this is the only NAP150 I've ever seen. Is anyone familiar with this model?
