The anti-skating fishing line and weight has become detached from its spindle. I am having real problems getting it back on (eyesight not what it was and shaky hands). My question is, assuming I can get it back on the spindle, which notch should it be placed on? I seem to remember it was on the end notch but if so I can see it falling off again too easily.

I feel as though I've hit a bit of a crossroads at the moment. I've just taken advantage of the Linn offer with their new cartridge and discount off another product to upgrade my LP12 to akurate spec. Recently just added a hi line to the cd5 xs flatcap xs side. Dealer has offered both a cdx2 and ndx for home demo. He favours ndx and has recommended I change to the streaming route. I would say currently we use vinyl as much as CDs. I keep reading peoples thoughts on not making too many...

Turned up yesterday morning, bought second hand from Lotus hi-fi. It has replace a nap150 in my system and is now singing quite beautifully in my system along with my 282 and hicap. My Neat motive 1's have never sounded so good. The amp was a bargain at £1350 and is in mint condition as Richard promised. The prices of these has dropped through the floor since the DR was introduced, but to my ears this is still a great sounding amp, certainly not fat and slow as suggested on another post on...

Sorry to bring this up late: Am I right that in high-profile naim demos (e.g., of statement and S800), naim is now using the NDS as a source, rather than the CD555? I'm just asking since a friend mentioned to me, to my surprise, that high-calibre CD players still have an edge over any streamers / DACs? (of course, naim might have reasons other than pure sound quality to feature the NDS). Many thanks, Stefan

Can anyone shed any light on what the difference might be between a SNAXO BMR and a SNAXO that has been upgraded using the BMR Upgrade kits? The Naim website is oddly void of information on this topic and yet they both appear on the 2015 pricelist. Also, am I correct in thinking the Ovator S600 requires the Snaxo 242?

Have just changed speaker cable from NAC A5 to Tellurium Q Black in my main system - after a suitably long period of run-in they have done wonders to my Focals and SuperUniti.   Am now going to do same to my second system - I've heard the 3.5m min length only really applies to NAC A5 - and particularly does not apply to TQ Blacks.  I only really need a 1m pair in my media room, and it would be nice to not have cable clutter (and save some money as well). I know there have been NAP200 DR posts recently but I am about to get my 2003 NAP200 serviced for the first time. Just wondering if the NAP200 is worth DR'ing if I use a HiCap on my NAC72 pre-amp? Does the mod improve the power amp section or not?

Some advice please, I have recently noticed on the illuminated display panel, a black film forming from the top left hand corner and moving into the panel. What is this, is it a known issue that Naim will sort out. This is the second issue I have had with the barely four year old unit. Two years ago the Naim green logo had to be replaced.

Hi Naim users, you prosalyrik have more listening experience than i have. I am now using a Naim Cd 5i and a Nait 5i integritet amp with Tellurium Q black cables and Audio Physic Tempo 25 speakers. I realt like the sound of this combination. But i am thinking on upgrading a bit. So some suggestions would be nice. I still want to use cd since now you can buy cd rekords cheap (the end of cd era???) Should i go for XS or Uniti 2 ? Are the Uniti 2 better since it sekels to be bult on Nait 5si ?

For many years 1995 not a hum with both side by side mm apart, then bad Humming in speakers (Naim Intro's) in 2015 only occasionally switched off over the 20 years. Now both serviced humming worse then ever when m/c phono selected, the two interacted and amplifies it. A call established its a common problem (Forum proves that). I spoke to my dealer today (hi-fi dealer that is...lol) in his opinion the TQ black speaker cable is superior to the Super Lumina and further up the TQ range in a different league all together.... Made me wonder is this what most dealers think? Is this the general opinion of the forum?

Disconnected the CD5 player 5pin din to 5 pin din cable. It is marked to ensure the direction of flow. Now the following day I have forgotten which way it should be connected. Is the marker to be facing the CD player or facing the amp. Yes, I know I'm sad.

My N272 is now about two months old and I am enjoying it very much.... today I have upgraded the power supply from a XPS2 to a XPS DR... With regard to Statement,I have never read of an Active system using Statement amps.I know Darke Bear and Graham use Active Statement with their S1 preamplifiers but I am intrigued weather Naim experimented with a 6 pack statement monoblock system and maybe Ovater 800' s ? I appreciate it would be alot of power on tap,just like passive statement would be.Anyone from Naim or the trade have any experiance of this configuration. Any comments most welcome

I have an SN2. Can someone please explain the differences / pros & cons of the HiCap vs. SuperCap? By chance can the SuperCap "power" both the SN2 and nDAC, simultaneously? Which PS works with the SN2? The HC, SC, or both? What about the nDAC? The HC, SC, or both? Or can one (SC) be bought to power both SN2 and nDAC? Thanks

Hello all This weekend we tried Superuniti preamp out into NAP 200, but no sound came Is there a setting to activate this preamp out? Which cable is needed (we used the same Snaic that runs from NAC 202 to NAP 200)

Thinking about getting a pair of S400 to go with a 202 NASPC /150x and a CDX5. Any thoughts? Does the amp have enough power to drive them? Has any one tried them in a similar system? Thanks

Hi, just wondering if anyone knows if the sub outs on the 152XS are split? As they are labelled with a left and right, do they only output low frequencies from each channel, or are both sub outputs just regular sub outs (both channels combined)? The reason I ask is that on my previous amp, I was running dual subs in stereo, not full sub signal to each sub. But, when I hooked them to the 152 sub outs, I had to turn the sub volumes down quite a lot. Thanks in advance.

Can anyone help? What's the cost of the 552 DR upgrade and (if you know it) the cost of a service done at the same time? (in the UK, please) And then what's your experience of the 'recovery' time it takes for a newly DR'd 552 to achieve its peak musical performance? Is it like running in a brand new one, or does it come back from Salisbury sounding wonderful straight away? Thanks for your help. Roger

I'm looking to upgrade my speakers - currently Q Acoustics Concept 40 - for something more in line with the rest of the system (Zen/linear ps >NDAC/'xpsdr' >SN2/"hicap Dr" or RP6 into stageline/"hicap Dr"). Obviously I'll be auditioning but wondered if anyone had any thoughts... Budget is c£4-8k and only other proviso is they must be available in white. Dealer has recommended looking at Neat Momentum sx7i and sx5i, Dynaudio Contour 3.4 and B&W 804 s3. Any other possibilities jump...
