I bought a TQ Black interconnect this week to go between my Hugo and SN2. There was nothing wrong with the Chord Anthem Reference that was already there but I wanted to see if there was any synergy with the TQ Black speaker cables that I have and love and I figured that if it isn't as good I can always use it on my tuner. I put them in on Monday and there was an immediate increase in bass and what seems like a lot more detail but it has been a series of ups and downs ever since...
I was perusing the AV Options website and they now have DR Amp upgrade pricing and information for USA customers on their Home Page.
went to us the headline last night and noticed music only coming out of one channel on my headphones, if I pulled the jack out about 6mm there's music at both channels, at first I thought it was the headphones but they work fine on other devices, has anyone else had this problem and is it a easy fix, regards Paul
I own a Nait XS (very nice device, btw). I like to connect a non Naim integrated to drive a second pair of speakers in a different room. My understanding was that I could plug the integrated to the subout of the Nait using an RCA connector. However, using this setup, plugging in the power chord of the integrated (but not powering it up) caused some weird noises in the primary speakers and ultimately made the Nait stop to play (the mute led got lit).
I have just ordered a Chord Chorus Reference interconnect at 1 metre in length. I was told by Chord that an interconnect has to be at least 1 metre in length or the signal that passes through it is reduced. That is to say a half metre, which is what I wanted, is basically no good. Is this true?. Surely a company like Chord would not say something to the contrary, just to sell 1 cable. My Flatcap and Nait are only 10" inches apart so I did not...
Sorry to bring up the Hugo! I am looking at getting a 2Qute/Hugo and was just wondering what interconnect people use to connect to their Pre amps. I will be connecting to a 2872 or a 272 (both have din and RCA)
This looks very interesting, hope this takes off and comes to Tidal and Naim
That came to a surprise. I was playing around with my other amp and decided to use my older kimber 8pr since I had the naim plug and the width would not fit. When I decided to move back to the superuniti I tought I could try the kimbers. Big surprise! The bass became better defined and the highs clearer. The speakers are proacs 148. I had tryed with naim 5si and got mitigated result but on the superuniti the kimbers sounds great. Noticebly better then the nac a5. It gave...
Hi All, I am fairly new to Naim and have only owned the all-in-one kit. I'd like some advice on getting into the world of separates!... I currently have a Unitiqute 2 with PMC Twenty.21 speakers which I enjoy. The speakers are here to stay (that is for sure), but I can tell that they could do with more grip and authority. Considering my requirements below, what would you advise on as a upgrade path and final separates system?? 1. I do not want loads of boxes but...
Hi all, About 2 years ago now I splashed out on Hi-Fi for the first time in a while, in the form of a DAC-V1/NAP 100 and a pair of B&W CM8's. This setup has brought my more enjoyment than any other £3k I've spent in my life. Im now looking at where I can take it next. If I were to draw a single point of criticism to the system, it would be the low end - where I feel like a more powerful amp might help keep the CM8's in shape and tighten them up a bit. In terms of next steps I was...
I'm in the process of emigrating and the proposed power supply is: 220 Volts AC 50Hz from a two-pin plug. Will this drive my NAIM CDX/XPS etc. stack, properly?
I thought I would share a picture of my new grilles for the DBLs. The original had started to crumble pretty badly and also suffered from the occasional finger hole from the children when they were younger . The foam is different from the original, much courser, but overall a very neat job. Here is the view from my listening position. Nice view, but I probably spend more time looking directly at the system!
I would like some info on the new DR Supernait 2. When did Naim improve the Supernait 2 to DR status? At what serial number did this occur? Or would there be some kind of DR badge on the unit to show that it is a current DR model? Also, does the Supernait 2 use the NA009 transistors that are used in the 250-2 DR. Thanks for the info. If these questions were asked before, don't hate. Thanks.
can the napsc interfere with the power amp if to close to it
Have got a FC2X on lone from A & A of signal towers :-) One thing I forgot to ask was if there is a switch on sequence having connected both CD5XS and Nait XS to the FC2X? How should I power on / off please assuming there is a correct sequence. Manual says XS should be left switched on. Anyway a late evening connecting these up and decided to check if all was working with idea to let warm up for a day and have some listening tomorrow evening. Well got some sounds coming out so good...
Hi, I have recently purchased a Naim CD 5i player. Unfortunately it did not come with any transport screws / bolts. My question is, are they specially manufactured for Naim or are they a standard bolt that I can buy from my local hardware shop. If so does anyone know dimension/specification of the screw / bolt. many thanks in anticipation Joe

With the sad demise of UHES as a going concern, I'm at a bit of a loss as to where to turn for on-going advice (other than here of course) and demo facilities. Recognising that many dealers don't carry Ovators or the 500 range, let alone the experience of running the speakers active, it would be very helpful for me (and hopefully others too) if forum members could flag which dealers have this expertise.
I brought a 250 -2 dr in september which sounded great but just lately it does"nt seem to sound so good ,the bass does"nt sound quite like it did .has anyone with a new 250 dr come across this or is just my imagination ?
Hi i originally posted about my 250 dr going off the boil and losing some bass ,having read all your posts i thought i would try some of the advice that had been shared i powered down the amp for a couple of hours switched on and every thing is back ,i don"t know how or why but my system is singing again .Have just spoken to Naim told them all that had been going on they said that had"nt come across this issue before, but i might have a heat problem and if it doe"s it again to...
Noticed this from Roy George in the Connect article about Mu-so Qb. Does anyone know what this means in an ND context please? "when the finished tune is agreed, it can then be uploaded into the product in a similar way that Naim’s ND- and Uniti products can have their DSP audio tuning adjusted as part of firmware upgrade – ‘only rather faster’ , says George."
What do you need to make one of these work? Idea is to have my Nait 2 in the bedroom with a headphone amp set up for night-time listening and early morning listening. Would the headline just plug into the Nait and i'd be in business? Thanks.
will my nac 202 sound better with a supercap on it than a hicap please my dealer has offered me one at a good price.
Sorry to read that UHES has closed due to the ill health of Norman. jon
Hi I own a 272 with 250.2 amp running the little PMC 20.21's this sounds great .... I love the mid and the tuneful base. However, I wondered what difference a good sub would make .... well Audio T connected a REL S3 to this setup in their demo room ......... OMG. Huge base.....which was over powering - the sub was on min volume with the x over set to 40hz. It was a shame ....... if the level could have been further adjusted lower it would have been great. The only thing I can think is...
