Hi I normally listen to music about 3 to 5 hours at a stretch The ambient temperature will be about 33 to 37 Deg Celsius and I normally do not use an air con or a fan as I like no ambient noise. Tropical climate with humidity My SN2 does get warm to touch ( all around) after about 3 hours. My rack has 6 inches space above the SN2 and sides are open. Should I be worried ? How may of my fellow Naimers/audiophiles use Sorbothane? I have to say I think it's amazing stuff. My previous house had a suspended floor. I abandoned spikes and eschewed the trick of screwing into the floor to site the speakers. Sorbothane feet completely solved the problem of the floor vibrating and the sound was perfect. I've put a noisy NAS drive on Sorbothane feet, and the noise from the unit when it spins up has been completely eliminated. Just love it.

I wondering how to get the best out of my speakers. My old system is now in the media room - UC2/NAP100/Totem Hawks. My new system is a Nova and Totem Signature Forests. I'm picking both speakers will take more up front, but I'm not sure of the best pathway. I'm not wanting to get into a convoluted and expensive cycle of upgrades and discarding great components. For example, do the Hawks need more amplification then the NAP100 and do I start there, or improve the pre-amp stage from the UC2?

I have read the numerous previous threads on this, (so apologies for raising this again!) but just wanted a quick clarification. Current system is LP12/Stageline/NDX/282/Hicap/250. Until recently, I had a Linn Karik CD player connected to the 282 so the NDX ground switch was set to floating. I have now disconnected the CD player from the 282, so from what I've read on here and in the NDX manual, am I right in thinking the NDX ground switch should now be set to chassis? I don't think the standard speaker spikes that came with the Ariva plinths will go through my 20mm-ish carpet and 11mm underlay. Should I get longer spikes? Is brass or titanium better than steel? thanks Jim

Hello, hopefully my Fraim arrives this week, but how should i place the gear on it? Its 2 Fraim base, and 4 shelfs. NAC 252, Supercap, NAP 250 DR, NDX 2, Linn LP12, Lingo 4, PS Audio NuWave Phono Converter. i also want to have the LP12, PSU for LP12(lingo 4) and the Phono Stage placed on the Fraim.

We are planning a move and our new apartment does not have a dedicated listening room. Is there a way to integrate a six-box system (four of which are black!) in an uncluttered open-plan kitchen/living area without it being a predominant eye-sore? Has anyone else noticed how new speakers have a tendency to shrink over time? This time last year my new ProAcs seemed absolutely enormous in comparison with the ones they replaced. Hi I have a 3 year old ( manufactured ) but bought about 4 months ago - Naim SN2 Before this i had the Naim nait 5i-2 ( used it for about 5 years ) I have Naca5 speaker cables 2.5 meters I feel i am sorted with my interconnects and power cables and power distribution board. I'm about to order a NAP 250 DR to partner my N272, and also considering a Fraim Lite. Checked the prices, and for some reason, a Fraim Lite base plus one standard level (115mm) works out quite a bit cheaper than a base plus medium or tall level. I'm based in Thailand though, where room temperature is typically 25 - 30C. I have a quite a few Mono LP's now and am debating about getting another head shell with a mono cartridge and was wondering if the mono button is actually worth engaging even without a mono cartridge does anyone use the mono button for mono LP's and if so does it make a difference?

I've used Dynaudio speakers for so long...and I'm in love with the brand, but they need more power than my newly acquired 5i-2 can deliver. My dealer in Toulouse lent me an Audioquest Tornado power cable to experiment....So i connected this power cable to my XP5XS / NAC N 272 combination and i heard an enormous difference in sound.....much more detail and much lower/more controlled bass. Really incredible and almost unbelievable....Are there other Naim users who experimented with the Audioquest Hurricane and Dragon power cables, so i can choose the right cable....?

I am having problems powering on my new NDX2. This first happened out of the box. The screen came on for less than a second and then went dark. The power button flashed green, but did not do anything when pressed. After trying for a few minutes I turned off and on a few times before it came to life. Yesterday I returned from a week away and the same thing happened again. I am powering direct from the mains and not through a power supply. Any thoughts appreciated

Hi all I’ve just acquired a second hand mint nDac and intend to try it as the digital to anologue converter for my CD 5XS utilising the 5XS as a transport. I currently power the CD 5XS via a Flatcap 2 XS and I believe this connection will no longer be required once I utilise the digital out from the cdp ? I just hooked up a non-Naim power supply and DAC, when I powered everything up the mute button is flashing, CD input light is on but the Naim logo light is off. I'm totally stumped. Also the preamp is unresponsive to pressing any buttons on the unit and remote. Any ideas on what to try?
