Hello All, One question I have and hoping someone can confirm for me, is what cables came with NAC72, Hicap and NAP140. I believe the NAP140 came with a 4 pin SNAIC and the HICAP with a 5 Pin SNAIC and those are the only two cables I have and use to connect them all together. Would the NAC72 have come with any connecting cables? I don't seem to have a spare one so I am assuming not... Cheers, Vin. I am thinking of buying a pair of headphones so I listen to music in the same room as my partner without bothering her.  I assume this means a closed back design as very low sound leakage would be a priority.  I will be using the headphone amp in the SN2 (despite the Forums apparent distaste for it) as I really don't want the extra box. Any advise would be much appreciated. Matt

Not the classic Naim transformer buzz but... I'm getting a slight hum/buzz from my speakers when amp is turned on. This happens no matter which input is selected or if mute is activated or not. Also noticed that when TV STB is turned on I can hear the TV through the speakers even with mute activated. I tried disconnecting all sources (STB, DAC, etc) but the hum remains until I turn the amp off.  Haven't touched cables lately so I doubt it's a question of cable rerouting.

At the moment my N272 is driving my power amp using RCA interconnects...  However my power amp also accepts XLR interconnects - so I was wondering if there would be any benefit in replacing the RCA interconnects and connecting the N272 to the power amp using a pair of 4-pin DIN to XLR cables? (I believe the cables I will need are the same cables that would be needed to connect a NAC252+Supercap to a NAP300). I know that XLR connects tend to used with balanced connections (between...

Quick question, could a 9m set of SL SC be re-terminated to 3 x 3m lengths. Emailed NAIM but seeing if we can get three sets for other system on a set bought previously but circumstances have changed, not mine but a friend whom I mentioned this possibility to so thought I'd ask if it could be done?  Or is it a totally daft idea :-) Thanks.

After months of flawless service, the right channel on my Nait XS2 has gone out.  Weird, it was back in this morning, now out again.  And I mean "dead out". No "bleed" from the working channel at all.  (However, when I feed the input of the bad channel only, it WILL bleed into the good channel).   I have 100% traced it to the Nait.  The feeds are good.  The speakers and cables are good.  I'm using the RCA inputs, btw.   Any ideas??   Anyway, used...

Not directly linked to Naim equipment, yet a topic that puzzles me recently, so I hope you don't mind asking for you experiences on this topic: When I switch on noise cancelling on my headphones the ambient noise dissapears and I can listen to audiobooks and music on low volume when travelling - works as designed. Yet I feel an uncomfortable pressure on my eardrums the moment I switch noise cancelling on, even without any audio signal: nc on = extra pressure on / nc off = no extra pressure...

Hi all I am thinking about adding an XPS to my 272. I have an LP12 Majik upgraded with Radikal and Hore (about £6000 worth of source) and i notice that the 272 streamer is falling behind in a number of areas. The LP12 is richer and warmer as expected but also bass is more solid and has more punch. Vocals are more emotional and the whole thing just hangs together in a more musical way. Lots of posts on here singing the virtues of the XPS with the 272 but not many talking about specifics. So...

is anyone out there using Audioquest cables with their Naim kit? Historically I've always stuck with Chord cables and use Odyseyy atm but I've got some Audioquest Go-4 speaker cables on home demo at the moment and I've got to say that so far I'm impressed! They are an expensive cable but do seem to make everything seem just a bit more lifelike and music sounds slightly more effortless than with the Chord cable.v. The only downside so far is that the sound is perhaps lacking a bit of depth;...

Wow.  I just discovered I can control my nDAC input from my Naim Narcom remote (for my 282, in Preamp mode, using buttons 7, 8, 9, 0). I have owned my DAC for 3 1/2 years, and have known that I could use the remote in this way by connecting a cable between the control sockets of the 282 and the DAC.  But this presumably compromised the audio, and I just never got around to trying it.  But the other evening the music suddenly stopped, and I had accidentally pushed the "7"...

I'm having a low quality audio playback with the new bluetooth feature; Upnp, Spotify and Tidal streaming are extremely more pleasant, almost close to the quality of the CD player.Is there anyone who has an updated player to bluetooth that can confirm? I use bluetooth with my Samsung smartphone ; or the problem maybe is due to the low quality of my musics files stored on my device. Today I finally got around to rebuilding my system which I've been meaning to do for the last twelve months.  Well, after massaging my Burndies along with removing and inserting the various plugs ten times etc, power up revealed a new system with goosebumps galore. I normally do the rebuild every six months but I'm ashamed to say I left this one about eighteen months. I won't leave it that long next time.  

Happy New Year All!!   I am considering reducing the box count and also like some of the features of the Supernait 2.  Of course I intend to borrow one but would be interested in other folks findings of the amp, particularly where you feel the pre amp section fits into the hierarchy. Currently I have 72/HicapDR/200 going into Kudos C20s which I swap out occasionally for my Linn Kan MKIs which I still love.  LP12 /Brinkmann Bardo and CDS up top. Regards, Mark

So guys I need your help, I have damaged the exact cartridge on my 3 month old RP6. I was cleaning the turntable and the cloth caught the needle and it is now bent. My question is can the needle be repaired by Rega or should I just replace or upgrade??? Help required as not happy and had just bought some new lp's this morning!!!! Thanks in advance.  

I may be able to get a used pair of these, but home demo will not be possible. Does anyone have any experience with these on the end of Naim systems?

Question; if you'd just spent ££££'s on new Naim amps (282,HC,250) would you keep the packaging or bin it? ....Thought so. So why would someone be selling 2010 equipment without the packaging? Odd decision I think.

When is the release of the sn3? :) I would like to have DR pre section, n009 transistor, statement volume control and maybe a statement inspired casework? Naim, lets start casework change with sn3. :)

Apologies if this has been asked before, but does anyone know if a non-DR NAP300 upgraded to DR spec is technically identical to a new NAP300 DR ? I thought I read somewhere that as well as upgraded transistors etc. the new NAP300 DR includes 'minor' changes eg.  to cable routing and wondered if this is also applied as part of the upgrade.

When going from Nait XS to XS2. Anyone had that experience? And was it worth the upgrade?
