Having just bought some new kit, I am trying to care for it dearly... Do people use their Naim hi-if / speakers purely for music? or use it for everything (i.e TV / film usage also)? I just wondered as part of me wants to use the kit for everything, but another part of me thinks it's almost sacrilege to use quality kit for everyday tv, trashy soaps etc!!  I may sound stupid asking this but is the life of my kit likely to be greater if I just save it for 'best' (I.e 5-10hrs of music per...

Hello and happy new year everybody,   Last night i've changed the speaker cable, i mean not the cable but the connection.  Black(-) goes in red(+) and red goes in black. I've thought that the speakers were now out of phase, but it made no difference at all. Why doesn't it make a difference?

Our upstairs system is a Nait XS  + Flatcap XS + nSats and it rocks with a CD5X player driven by the Flatcap, too.  What is the optimal Naim Streamer for this rig, assuming we either shed the CD5X or turn it into a transport?    Is there a Naim Streamer which will mate with the Flatcap XS?  Will it work as a DAC with the CD5X transport conversion?    Is there something on the horizon or on the market now?   What is the efficient path forward to avoid...

Hi, all! First I like to say that I really enjoy reading post here on the Naim-forum. Nice to see that we help each other out in the quest of enjoying our music even more. Because it's what a guy is asking - apparently not as a one-time sale but as a regular commercial offer - for the item in question, on the famous auction site (the product is apparently made by a known maker of Naim 'upgrades' and is claimed to outperform, or at least equal, an active multiple system). But weren't those 3rd party replacements makers offering cheap and better alternatives to the too much expensive Naim originals? What am I missing? 

I have an interesting (for me at least) problem. I have a nat 05 and cdx2 connected into a nac 202 /nap 200 (with hi cap and napsc) then n sat / n sub. I can switch the player off without trouble on the sub side but, if I disconnect the CD player plug ( after switching it off), the n-sub produces a loud buz. It means that I cannot actually remove the CD player and still use the sub. Is it maybe a ground/earthing problem? thanks!

I have just received a new Mu-So and additional results are excellent . I will be using the unit mainly for music streaming or I radio all of which work vey well. I have also connected the unit to a Samsung TV via an optical cable but have to turn the volume up considerably to get a reasonable sound level. I have a Supernait 2 and have noticed the following issues: 1) When I use my Marantz NA8005, or Cd5si, and crank up the volume to 75% it will fault with excess current. 2) My na8005 is connected through the tunner input. when I select another input that has no connection and put the volume up I can hear what ever is being output through my NA8005.  3) I hear a lot of humming through my speakers when I crank up the volume on empty inputs. I currently have a Supernait 2 with a Hicap DR and am looking to go down the pre-amp power amp combo with a NAC252, Supercap and NAP300. Would love to hear from anyone who owns or has audiotioned this amp and can recommend speakers that they felt partnered particularly well. Current source and speakers are Media PC, Chord Hugo TT, Tannoy DC8's and a JL Audio Fathom 110 subwoofer.  What should I audition?    

Recently acquired a NAP140/NAC62 combo. Initially hooked up to use them with an LP12, but sound was awful due to the wrong Phono Boards fitted. Since fitted the correct ones, went to hook it all up today and all of a sudden there is no power to the preamp. ie - the green light is not lit, and no sound. Unhooked everything and just plugged the two amps together, still no power. The 140 has its light on. Everything is plugged in as it should be, SNAIC 4, I have two of these, both checked, same...

Despite perceived wisdom I did a bit of dusting around my system and as a consequence I can only get a signal from one of my loudspeakers.  There is the slightest of hissing sounds from the Left hand speaker but nothing else.  I have tried wriggling and removing and replacing some leads/interconnects but to no avail.  Where should I be concentrating my efforts?  Any sensible advice would be much appreciated. Aloha, I have a pair of what I believe to be 1960's Era speakers. They are Wharfedale W 90's. They look old but I know very little about them. I'm setting up a recently-acquired second-user SuperUniti (S/N 341xxx). I want to use it with an External CD-Player (AA 5). With my previous NAc-72 this connected via 2 x Phono cables to the Aux Input. However, using the same interconnects to Analogue-1 on the SU, nothing happens. It is several years i own Naim boxes and from past to present, or almost, each time i upgrade, each time i got the right Naim sound at each level i was. Interested to hear if anyone is using a Little Dot valve headphone amp with their Naim NAC. I am really enjoying my Little Dot III driving my HD 650's from my other sources and am considering connecting it up to the tape outs on the 252 for those very late night immersive sessions... Simon  

Anyone try running Kudos Super 20s with the Nap300DR? Tried a 250DR instead of a Nap 300 with my Kudos Super 20s. The experiment didn't last very long. The Kudos Super 20s were designed with the Nap300 and were 'tuned' with the Nap300 - so not surpised that the 300 sound better than the 250DR. More musical at least. I can see how the 250DR are equally or more resolving, specifically at the top end. There's more space.. all the usual hifi stuff. However, the 250DR threw things off...
