My current setup consists of: LP12/Valhalla/Trampolin/Akito/AT-OC5 Naim CSX/XPS Vortexbox + LMS Server + Logitech Touch + Arcam rDAC/Linear PSU (+ Qobuz HiFi subscription) NAC82 (Pots8) + 2×HiCap (all serviced) Nap180 (serviced) Monitor Audio Silver + TQ Black cables Room is 14' x 23' I listen to all types of music, including rock, classical, choral, etc. The 180 is soon to be replaced by a 250 and I feel the Monitor Audio speakers remain the weak link in this setup: While they have good...

I have a "CAPS" HTPC that I output via USB to my current DAC.  I am just curious as to whether anyone is running straight PC > NAIM DAC, either the V1 or nDAC. The V1 is more or less designed to do this. I am a little more curious as to how nDAC owners may be doing this. Thanks.

Hi Friends, Is there any one that experiences Master Sound Evolution 845 with NDS+XPS-DR and S-600 ?
Richard DanePosted: 15 December 2015Last Updated: 15 December 2015
Just to let all here know that the Naim Forum will go offline for up to an hour between 5pm and 11pm GMT on Tuesday 15th December, 2015. This is so some essential maintenance can be done. Many thanks, Richard.

Hi, Is there an update on the timeline (pricing, shipping process) for the DR upgrades on amplifiers (nap 250-2) and U.S. clients? I have not heard from Naim, the U.S. distributor or my dealer. Thank you. pjd

The electrician came round last night and was very patient with my bizarre questions and had a few of his own, I asked for a hi fi ring (not spur) with minimum 4mm cable on a separate consumer unit. The cable would need to go up the external wall, through the loft, down the external wall and through the wall into the living room. The cable would be internal grade cable inside trunking to avoid breaks where the cable goes inside, although he initially assumed external cable would be needed.

After a period of investigating options and doing demos I am going to be trading up to a bunch of new gear within the next two weeks. I'm starting to consider how to best arrange everything in my rack. I have 8 levels of Quad 4 Evo at my disposal. Here is what I am thinking... please chime in if you think this could be improved upon or if my logic isn't making sense. Note that the amp has to be on the left most Quad 4 rack due to speaker cable length and room limitations.   Left Rack...

I have recently changed my NACA5 speaker cable and 555-552 interconnect to Super Lumina. Expensive, but extremely worthwhile. I am now considering adding the Super Lumina 4-pin DIN to 4-pin DIN interconnect to my system. Am I correct in thinking this will go between the 552's power supply, and the Supercap that's powering the Snaxo 242?

Sorry if this has been discussed before but I have recently upgraded from a rega apollo r / brio r to a uniti 2 with fabulous results. I am currently using my existing speakers which are rega rs5 and speakers cable is rega duet. although the sound is excellent with good treble detail, sometimes the bass is overblown, my room is 12 foot x 10 foot with an arch into another room to the side of the right speaker. I keep thinking that I could get better results from the uniti 2 if I upgrade but...

Hi All, I'll be fitting some new unswitched mains outlets soon, and while I'm back there fettling I thought I might see if ferrite sleeves/rings might provide a cheap small upgrade. Initially just planning to put them on the mains cables for Qute2 and power amp, can anyone give their experience on: 1) Will ferrites make much audible difference on my modest Qute2 + power amp system? If so, what could likely be expected? 2) Is there any difference between the ferrite sleeve (plastic clip...

I have a newish pre DR 200, looking to upgrade, budget ~3k. I have a non-Naim preamp (Croft valve), vinyl and digital sources. Any thoughts on which direction I should be going in?

I've had my Uniti 2 for about 3 month now and love it. I do most of my listening through headphones via the Burson (Conductor SL9018) and until recently plugged the headphones into the Uniti 2 just to compare - and the difference is very noticeable. The Naim bass is more focussed and hits harder than the Burson which has more rounded/deeper boom bass - I liken it to a bare knuckle punch and a boxing glove punch! The detailing and separation of instruments is better through the Uniti 2 but...

I have recently had the CD mechanism and servo board replaced in my 2013 Uniti 2 by an authorised dealer because it was refusing to load CDs.  When I collected the repaired device and reconnected to my system, I see "Fault 21: CD Mech, No Comms".  On returning it to the dealer, the fault was cleared by reseating one or more internal connectors.  I get it home, and again, I see the same fault. It seems likely (because the transition from working to failed involves a short...

Hi, some feedback on my experience. A few months ago I posted a question about whether people has tried changing the mains lead to the Muso - to make something that sounded so good even better! The usual Naim upgrade virus! A couple of responses suggested to leave well alone, 'Missing Link' had been tried but at the cost of musicality. Others suggested Nordost Purple Flare. The Nordost suggestion did appeal to me as I am a fan of the sound of Nordost leads - I use their Red Dawn speaker and...

Hi Naim enthusists! I wondered if anyone has experience of Epicon 6's? I've got a pair and running them from NDS, 552DR/500 and the latest connects. I'm not very happy with the o/a listening experience at the moment. Thanks Martin

Christmas came early this year when my Kudos Titans 808 showed up.  Looking for "next step" after Ovator 600, the Titan 88 first caught my attention. After hearing the new 808 in Bristol earlier this year, I made up my mind and since then just been waiting for them to arrive.  After I had sold my Ovators, I borrowed a pair of Kudos Super 20 and was surprised that they sounded better in my room then the Ovators previously had.  Now, 3 hours after opening the boxes, putting the...

I heard these at a local audio shop yesterday. Stunning in my opinion. The shop is theatre focused so the demo was with a crap receiver and blue ray player feeding digital to the receiver. Nonetheless the speakers sounded really good.    Anyone here these or the Gold 200 with proper stereo gear?  What were your impressions?
engjooPosted: 11 December 2015Last Updated: 12 December 2015
Given that they are in a similar price bracket, has anyone done an A/B between both setups ? Would love to hear any views on this or if anyone has move from one side to the other.

This afternoon my dealer brought over two sets of Quadraspire SVT bronze spikes to try on my Sunoko-Vent racks. These are intended to support the top shelf in a rack, further isolating the equipment sat on on it. The Quadraspire website suggests this is aimed at upgrading the performance of source components but in my system the top shelves of the ‘brain’ and ‘brawn’ racks are a 282 and its Supercap, respectively. But we thought it worth an experiment to see if supporting either of these...

Does anyone out there reliably know what the passive crossover frequencies are for Naim Allae's? also for Ixo and Snaxo 2-4-2 active cross overs? Thanks

Hi, Is there a reason why the NAP 200 has a 4 pin din input rather than 3 like the rest of the range?

Hello all, I am in the process of getting new equipment, in colombia there is very little to test so we kind of have to go by what our dealer says. I am building the following system, Supernait2 , CD5Si, Rega RP3 with Elys2, Marantz NA8005 for my...
