Can someone please tell me if the Supercap 2 and the Supercap DR are different models of the power supply or the same one, I’m a bit confused.

Am I still able to send older Naim equipment for servicing to Naim directly? From time to time you see companies who describe themselves as 'authorised' to repair/service equipment - is there an official list, or is it a no go area of discussion? Also, there used to be a factory summer holiday I believe when servicing etc could take longer, is this still the case?

My sense is that Naim will update the preamp line with the new volume control as in the Uniti line and Statement. Hence I'm holding off on buying a preamp. I currently have a 272 with PS555 but want to upgrade to the ND555 and will then need a preamp either 252 or more likely a 552. You think i can use the 272 preamp section bare with the ND555/PS555 for a while with good SQ? I know it won't be optimal but significantly better than 272 right? What do you think good or bad idea. Hello My phono stage is connected to the aux1 rca input of my Supernait 2. Sometimes when I turn a record and the input is without signal for a minute, the signal seems to have been muted when I restart the recordplayer. The music returns if I switch inputs and re-activates aux1. Is this a known issue with the Supernaits or other integrated og preamps? Thank you in advance, best regrads Lars

I have read quite a few posts on a number of forums where folk reckon it is better to split their power requirements. The system comprises a number of Naim items, and some from other manufacturers. I also have an Ikea remote controlled (dimmable) LED light strip & power supply. I use TWO industrial quality extension blocks (no LED, no filtration, no switches) to feed everything. The two extension blocks are fed from the same double wall socket, which is part of the downstairs ring main.

Vodafone decided to kick FM out of our cable at the end of August. The reception quality over cable used to be very good, but now I'll have to use an indoor aerial, which will probably be not nearly as good. Outdoor aerials are not an option, because it's a rental apartment house and we are not allowed to install any external devices. I'm a bit unsure what to do now. Try to improve indoor reception with better aerials or boosters? Is it at all possible to achieve good indoor reception? Or...

Due partly to the extended absence of my NDS on repair I've been doing fair bit of listening on headphones via my Astell + Kern Kann and also my Qute plus rHead headphone amp. This has really got me interested in the experience of good headphones, a new pleasure. I have Grado SR325e at the moment and I find them comfortable and very enjoyable but would like to try some options around £1k - £1.5k. Hi guys, i have a 152/155 xs system with cd5xs and xs flatcap and naim headphone amp with Audeze lcd-xc planar headphones, this is now my preferred method of listening but would I gain much by switching out the naim headphone amp for a Chord Hugo TT? your thoughts/experiences would be appreciated regards stimmy

Hello all, Today I received the XPS-DR I bought from one of the forum members. It came to me in excellent condition. Connecting the Burndy is "challenging" but all went well. Power goes through my PowerIgel. Strange enough my iPad didn't recognize the NDX after spinning the system on, but after a router re-set things worked out well. The XPS-DR is run-in already. Out of all your boxes, what would be the one you would take with you as you scramble from your burning house? Im torn between my Nac 52 and my 08 SL2 speakers. If it came to the crunch I’d collect the SL2 speaker. Probably impossible to replace them, just truly beautiful and only 300 or so made. How about you??

Hi i moved my whole hi fi into another room ......... connected everything up great.........then I tweaked the balance and found that the speakers channels were flipped.... doh. I tried switching the din/xlr at the 552ps end - but that did not work..... (I think this because all the din sockets are fully wired for both channels - and the change over occurs in the plug pin wiring) It looks to me that the only solution is to switch the speaker cables......and of course you have guessed it i am...

Some time ago I wrote about testing the Neat Iota Alpha at home, then Neat Iota Xplorers. Having owned Naim Ovators I was very intrigued by the Iota design and sound, sold my Ovators and had a great system consisting of Neat Xplorers, Nap 250.2, hicap nac 102, ndac sotm sms 200, lp12-kore-aro-Armageddon-adikt-Lejonklou gaio. Reading rave reviews of the ND555 does not interest me as streaming isn’t my goal. However, the DAC portion does interest me, so the NDX 2 appears to have this, with the streaming as a bonus. So when it comes to D to A, will the NDX2 outperform the nDAC both powered by 555PS? (I notice well informed forum members who understand the electronics, and some who have chatted with Naim.)

Hi I am using a ( ex demo ) Naim SN2 with Naca5 speaker cables. My source is a CD player I get the high pitch sound from the speakers a. when there is no music playing b. even when there is music playing i can feel the high pitch sound from the speakers c. This noise is there even when i put off the CDP But it goes away when i press the MUTE button and re-appears when i disengage the MUTE button . Is this a problem unique to me ? have others experienced it ? what could be potential solutions...

I'm looking at picking up a used 202, so need to clarify this position. The question is on where to take a feed for the headphone amp. I already have a nice class A headphone amp, which has its own volume control, so can work with either a fixed or variable output. Am I right in thinking the AV output is a permanent fixed output? While it would be 'nice' to use the 202 volume control it isn't essential. What do you do? (or is there a normal recommendation for this requirement?!) Thanks!
