I have the unit in deep sleep mode, but I will be away for an extended period. Should I unplug it ?

I can't understand the purpose of Link 2 rear socket. Is it a fixed output for sub speaker or a variable output for non-Naim power amps? Thanks in advance.

For several months here in the U.S. Hi-fi+ has been either very difficult to find or impossible (in my case). But today my bookstore had a single copy of the May issue. (Long-winded way to say) they had a very good and interesting review of Naim Nova and Focal Kanta #2. The entire issue was devoted to "systems". To me,this is a beauty and the beast system (well not quite that bad) but the looks of the Focal are an acquired taste. However,it did sound like it would be a very good pairing.

Has anyone tried the PowerBlack Distribution Block from Custom HiFi Cables Ltd. as an alternative to Music Line's Netzleiste and Powerigel? What are your impressions? Thanks, nbpf

I am interested in trying these Unity Audio the rock II active speakers. Can some please tell me how I am supposed to connect my Naim setup to theses active speakers? Would din to XLR cable work between NDX and these active speakers? CDX2/XPS2/NDX/NDAC thanks a lot.

I’m asking because I’m seriously considering adding a decent/middle quality LP12. I really like what I’ve heard in demos today and really impressed with how far it has moved on since I last used one decades ago, but still nagging doubts about how much I would actually use it versus listening to my NDS. Straw poll time and I’d be really interested to hear from any forum goers who have 2 or more top quality sources who would be good enough to share with me how much of your precious listening...

Hi, is it normal to hear transformer hum/buzz in Naim Unity Atom from about 30cm distance? And if late at night, I can hear the hum at abaut 60cm distance. I think it is going from power supply.

Has anyone used an upsampling DCS Purcell with a Naim DAC? Or have any ideas about it's effectiveness?

Despite being an audiophile for the past 50 years, I've had to take a break from my hobby after we adopted 4 kids over the past 12 years. Well, they are all grown up now- 2 leaving for college in August and the third next spring. Anyway, I would like some advice in putting a Naim system together. At this point in my life I just want to listen to music and have no interest in gear swapping as I did in the past. The only gear that I have left after clearing out some stuff is a pair of Dynaudio...

Im in Salisbury this morning and thought I’d see if any Hifi shops existed other than the Naim factory, but they all seem to be closed?:( can this be true?!

So after a long time selling and buying my stuff I got the funds to buy something nice. Just by luck I got interested in a UnitiLite bt I saw in the showroom of the dealer I’ve visited. The classic look with the green informative screen got my attention so I asked what it was. The salesman told me the whole story and demoed the UnitiLite with his iPad and his music collection he had stored on a server somewhere in the showroom. I felt in love and I wanted to buy it so I did. Now one and a...

So this is the dealio; I wanted to demo the SCM40 actives against the passive version (with a NAP250) - So I thought to myself..., that can't be too hard? I'll check out who carries both Naim and ATC in my area and drop them a line, which was something along the lines of: " I am wondering if it could be possible to book a demonstration of ATC’s SCM40A and SCM40 with a Naim NAP250. I am particularly interested in this speaker / power amp combination. You can choose the source/pre you deem fit...

The saga for this entitled, demanding and patronising bell end continues... As many of you know, I'll be demoing 2 pairs of speakers next week (ATC SCM40; active vs passive) - keeping it very simple Although I've done this in the past a couple of times, I thought I'd tap into this forum for general advice. It might sound obvious to most but, how do you approach this? You bring your own favourite music, that is clear, but do you bring music you know sounds good (e.g. Steely Dan Aja) or you...

Hi all, I have a Dac V1 system with a Nap 200 SBL I think it sounds great. I'd like to try and sound the olives with my SBL and think about buying Nap 250 vs 140 directly in Dac V1. The first question I want to ask is whether it is a good combination of olives and black and should I have a Nac 72 for the magic of the olives? And the second question, who should choose? I will buy it from eBay and I will not be able to hear it in advance. I listen to music at moderate levels in the room - 3.5m...

Hi All, At present, I'm running a conventional pair of passive speakers, with the usual pre and power amp setup. The music is largely CD rips, streamed via a Cisco switch from my HDX to my NDS. If I were to move to active speakers, my thoughts turn to having the system in one room, with the speakers in a separate dedicated music room, and I wonder whether the technology exists to simply feed these active speakers via an ethernet cable running from the switch? I haven't really thought this...

This question must be asked before I rearrange the room and roll back the big rug. I have the nSUB centre and front, so could install a cable - but the speakers already go down to 35Hz so would I hear it??!

Hello, perhaps someone can give me a hint: As part of a small project, I've recently made impedance scans of my SL2s. Tweeter and mid/bass driver were measured separately, i.e. without passive crossover, and in-place. So far the scans look sensible to me. However, there are some questions regarding the curves for the mid/bass driver (left and right driver, the impedance in the picture is shown on the right y-axis): I think one can see that the drivers are relatively closely matched. Two...

Hello, I have connected my turntable player (Project) to the Analog entry (after a NAD pp2e preamp) on my Star (RCA entry). After wondering why was the level so low and the audio so bad, I have reaslised that some parameters needed to be set. So here are my questions for those kind to let me know. 1) Correct to select Input Sensitivity Hi-Fi 2,5 V? 2) Input Trip, I have selected 8 (one short to the max), is that a recommended set up? 3) What does Lip Synch mean? (Currently at zero). Thanks a...

As way of a starting point, I thought I’d ask the forum for some audition suggestions. It'll be 6 - 18 months before I can afford the speakers I want, in the meantime I have a budget of £200 - £400-ish to get a pair of relatively cheap speakers to enjoy(?) on the end of a Supernait 2. I use to have some Monito Audio Bronze speakers on another system, which I loved the sound of but understand that Monitor Audio is a bit bright with Naim amplification. So was initially thinking something like...

Hello all, recently i bought a Naim unitiqute 2 and i paired it with Dali Zensor 1 in a small room, aprox 3.5X3.5m. This match is not refined, the bass is poor and uncontrolled (loudness off), midranges are ok..., trebles are apropiate to be good. Overall are ok, but i need a rich and balance sound. I need suggestions for replace my Dali speakers. Thanks

I have two Nap 200's which are on top of each other (for some here indeed a reason to call me crazy) and I'm pretty sure that the one on top is moving a few (2?) millimeters per month. Anyone ever seen this? Or should I forbid my kids to enter the room, seal the room and wait? I've just re-aligned them and I'll know it in a few weeks.

Have just sold the Harbeth SHL5 and am going to audition the SCM40 soon. However the ATC dealer mentioned I would need a 500DR to drive the 40. He had a customer who uses the SN2 with the 40 and the amp clips above 85db volume (I assume no HicapDR). He recommends ATC 40A and to use the SN2 as pre. Naim dealer told me the same, need at least a 300DR. Another ATC dealer says no issue as his customer uses an all in one naim system (I assume its either the SU or nova) and drive the 40 well. So...
