My second system is 52/Supercap/250 (into Kan’s). Only getting occasional use these days but given a vintage 2000/2002, in desperate need of a service. (Actually, I think the Supercap was done a good few years back, but long enough ago to be due again). Clearly the Supercap/250 will need to go back, but does the 52 head unit also need attention? I have a new 250DR (used with 272 and 555PSDR) and usually leave everything switched on. However I’m currently trying out a SL din/xlr interconnect resulting in having to power down several times. Every time I turn the 250 back on, it trips the safety switch on my dedicated spur. Would my 250DR amp have enough power to drive a pair of B&W802D3?

I have a Superuniti playing through Naim Allaes and I am very happy with it, however the usual thoughts of upgrades are never far away! I love the sound of the Superuniti but want more of the Naim sound that the next upgrade step will give me, I looking to buy pre owned. I was thinking of a Supernait 2 and ND5 XS or a N272 and NAP 250.2 obviously there is a price difference but how much bang-for-buck would I get with either system. I need a new CD spinner to replace my dead CDX. I want to go the separate transport route but don't want to spend silly money. I think I've narrowed it down to either the Oppo 203 or the Cambridge CXC into my Onkyo DAC (that will be upgraded to possibly one of the new Naim streamers). Rest of the system is an 82/250/HCDR. Will the Oppo cut it? Is the Cambridge miles better? I can't dem these but hope someone here has and can share their experience.

I happened to catch a piece on BBC Breakfast TV this morning (BBC 1 @ 07:53) where they visited Norway a year on from the FM switch off. Bottom line overall daily radio listening figures are down 10% as a result.

I have been looking into a SN2 as part of a future system, but struggling to understand why the SN2 is DR, but the Naim reference streamer (Nova) is not. I have checked the Naim site information and no mention. What would be the logic not to include DR and any thoughts on a a DR upgrade

I have heard that there may be a way to use a streamer like the ND555 (or any streamer) without a pre-amp. Is that possible? I currently have a 272/PS555 set up and would like to consider the new streamer but would also like to keep box count down along with interconnects etc.

Can you control a 252's volume from an app? I am assuming that the Naim app that does the streamer's track selection will also do audio levels - is that doing it as a control signal to the 252? I've only played with the 272 and the Nova, and with integrated pre-amps and streamers, it could well be different.....

Notice this unit has 13 dr regulators.....so if you use a 555psdr ..... is regulation happening twice..... is this effective....??

When there is nothing playing but you system is powered up, is there complete silence or is there “hissing” coming out of your speakers? My six figure Naim system has distortion (hissing) coming out of the speakers. Of course when the music is playing it is drowned out. Is this the norm?

Should be a fairly simple yes/no question (of which I suspec the answer is no). Some countries have gone another route and not adopted DAB as the digital standard for radio but use ISDB-T (Japan, Philippines, Brazil etc.). I am wondering whether the Naim DAB modules for the NDX and UQ2 actually also support ISDB-T also. I can't imagine they do, but I am not find of using my TV as a radio tuner any longer or adding another box.

Hi FM-ophiles, advice required please. I’ve dusted off my NAT02, installed an external aerial and am generally pleased with the results - but for R3. I can pick up R3, R4, BBC London etc with stereo and signal lights bright green and without visible drift. I need your special experience because I'm about to buy a pair of Pro Ac Tablette 10 or Tablette 10 Signature and I would like to know which of them is better to combine with my Naim set up formed by Uniti Atom and NAP 100. Hi, Currently have a Uniti 2 and a Unitiserve running into PMC 25.23s. Looking at next upgrade path. option 1 - add NAP250DR to Unit 2 option 2 - sell Uniti 2 and get 272/250DR combo (don't really need CD tray!). Listen mainly to Tidal. Thoughts would be appreciated. Gordon
