In a moment of euphoria, I’ve gone for a s/h Super Lumina DIN-xlr from my NAP 250. This means SL for everything I can except NDX to Hugo (for which I use DC1). While I wait for it to arrive, what sort of improvement do you think I can expect over the (excellent) Witch Hat which I currently have in place?

Especially when RCA are most common? Surely if DIN are better, all manufacturers would use them - but they don’t. Why?

The usual XPS story - have come home from 2 weeks hols during which I powered everything down (why did I do it!). Powered up - all ok bar XPS DR blowing its fuse - only the second time in fairness. I was using Custom Design FS103 three pillar stands with my Proac Tablette 10 - the model recommended by Custom Design. Never entirely happy with them, I found them a bit - well - ‘wobbly’. I have bought a DAC with a choice of 1/2/3v outputs. As you might expect, given that I need to end up with a normal listening volume, my 282 volume dial is either at around 9 o’clock (1v input) and down to barely off the stop for a 3v input. Is there any science to say which is best? 3v seems to give me almost no travel on the volume dial, and there is a bit of me that wonders if the 282/250.2 combination is truly linear when it is right at the bottom, i.e. am I losing some SQ (most likely...

It’s been hard to work out what’s going on, but today, I removed the XPS again and the system instantly gained more body and mid-bass, seems more balanced and provides a more natural and engaging sound - in fact, I’m enjoying listening to it again, including tracks I couldn’t listen to comfortably when the XPS was in place. So I am a new Naim owner of a Unitilite that I have purchased second hand. This has replaced some Arcam equipment but I still have my old speaker - Monitor Audio S1 (from around 2003) and some silver (possibly QED but can't remember) speaker cable. I've been wanting to get my NAC102 serviced but hadn't got around to it yet. However I now have motor noise through the speakers when adjusting the volume or balance controls regardless of input selection or mute. Removing the NAPSC and using the link plug is even worse - giving noise when doing input selection too! Hi, can anyone tell me if I can connect a headphone amp to my Unitiqute II + Nap 100? Should I use the rca connections on the back of the Qute? I want to use Sennheiser HD 600’s, is an amp necessary if so would the Graham Slee solo be a good choice?
