I finally bought this little device which claims to reduce packet errors when used in series between a computer/mobile and a USB DAC. I must say, I can hear a change for the better, between both my laptops (windows and MAC) and my Chord Dave, also between my IPhone and Chord Mojo. Music does sound more engaging due to a reduction in noise. It isn't a lot of money, and for once, this little machine does make a difference without asking for a lot of money. I wonder if anyone else discovered...

Part of being an audiophile is the excitement of making upgrades to one’s system. But over the years I’ve noticed that there are 2 types of upgrade. The first is when a new component comes into the system that adds more.....errr anything.....bass extension, dynamics, sound stage depth, image specificity, you name it, but in the end, does little to change your long-term level of enjoyment. You enjoyed your system before the upgrade and long term, you enjoy it about the same after. In essence,...

Just adding an update since my first post a few months back.. http://forums.naimaudio.com/to...75#71539985854479475 I visited my friendly local Naim dealer yesterday, relocating my hi-if in the process, to try a few things. So, here is an update on my hi-if journey. Three things to report on: (1) Rega NEO turntable power supply; (2) FlatCap XS; (3) HiCap2 In recent months, I have read a lot about the Rega Planar 6. Lots of reviews and recent user comments are now published and the NEO...

I'm a little ashamed to admit that I just found out about this little upgrade for the NAC 282 just lately when saw this in the manual for the first time (after using the 282 for more than a year now). Perhaps I am the only person who hasn't noticed about this yet. Naim wasn't kidding when they suggested to mute the record output to maximise sound quality. When the mute button on record bank (2nd row) was enabled, I'm quite amazed by the change in presentation. I wasn't really expecting much...

Quick question, can you use FCXS on CD5 or does it need FC2? In other words is CD5 ok with 24V or does it need 22V? Probably one for Richard. TIA Mark

Just a quick question. looking at Naims more expensive pre amplifiers, like the 252, why are the channel buttons on the front all doubled up, but on the reverse it appears to only have single inputs for everything. thanks all

It’s not that I am actually unhappy with my current system/ speakers, but having only ever owned small stand mounted speakers I now have a hankering for greater bass response in my system. I suspect this feeling is due to my deep seated resentment from having lived in a tiny semi-detached home for so long. Now, having recently moved to a larger house which is detached I am able to explore the capability of my system somewhat more than before. I am planning on buying second hand so trying...

Anybody tried Atlas hyper on Naim DAC? Is there lots of diff compared to naim DC1?

hi all, im looking to set up a second system and have an old Aries to use, is it possible and simple enough to use the Aries with an old Supernait 1? And how can it be connected up? thanks

Just a question that I thought I would ask. A dealer who I had conversations with stated that Naim is very clever and do this to generate more business and put inferior power suppliers in there products from the outset to give an additional upgrade path and generate more income. And said a lot of the other high end manufacturers implement hi end power supplies directly in to there products. just after people’s opinions on this. thanks Popeye

Hi Folks, I upgraded to the Uniti Nova about two months ago and find it an amazing system that I am very happy to listen to for around six hours each evening. The system is paired with Monitor Audio GS 20 floor stander speakers. They were the ones to buy for around £2000 in 2008/2009. The sound is very good but I feel that there is much more to be found from the Nova’s front end. I feel they do not accurately/fully communicate separation and clarity of instruments, along with a well-focussed...

A friend of mine recently informed me of a local-ish ad for a pair of SBLs, which was described as “excellent condition but sold as seen” as (apparently) the seller had no way of testing them. I thought I’d take a gander (on the basis that I could always lug my Unity Star round to test them out if they looked OK). Anyway, arrangements were made and I duly arrived at the sellers rather swanky apartment (at least by Norwich standards). I was led through to the sitting room and was shocked to...

Picking up on a thread started in August last year and especially a post by Blackmorec regarding how some mains cabling will lead to a sound that sounds like it needs burning in, but never actually does.. This is precisely the issue I have. I wrote before of my dedicated mains, Prysmian 10mm2, radial journey and ended it flummoxed; with sound that lacks the warmth, airiness and long note decay I get with the house ring main. Instead I get a sound that is a bit more etched, a bit more...

I am currently running a 362 into DBLs and as such don’t benefit from the “floaty” technology of the later BMR version. Has anyone had any was to judge the benefit of the additional isolation? I have my 362 on Fraim, away from the power supplies, but I wonder if some form of isolation pads might make a difference? It would make any impact on vibration coming along the cables (of which there are many).

Hello everyone. I have been enjoying Stirling MS-88 for a few months with a team formed by Naim CDX - Nac112 - Flatcap2 -Nap200. Do any of you have a similar set that can give me your opinion? I am very happy with this configuration.

I guess tonight’s plans have just changed Complete Fraim rebuild i think with the following order. 52 SNAXO / HiCAp NDX 250 250 SuperCap XPSDR Assuming the cables will reach from 52 to SuperCap. The ups and downs of running in before Audio Bliss :) Thanks again for everyone’s input in this journey Rob

Does anyone know whether a SN2 could properly drive a pair of Magneplanar speakers as I believe they are quite power hungry? Thanks for any help
KeithHPosted: 19 January 2018Last Updated: 19 January 2018
My CDX2 with XPS2 works fine. However, I now want to use my NDX with the XPS2 and use the CDX2 standalone. I used the NDX2 Burndy plug in the CDX2 and a mains lead. The CDX2 naim light comes on, but there is no power to the transport mechanism. Any ideas why. Is it because the Burndy plug is actually different on the NDX compared to the CDX2 ?. I don’t have the original CDX2 plug, as I bought the unit secondhand. I hope someone can help. Many thanks, Keith

I have quite a collection of CDs. I m thinking of getting a Uniti Core. May I ask aft I rip the CD and hook it up to my nDAC, I can listen to my music inside the core via control from my iPad using naim apps? Is it a must to connect to the LAN to work w iPad wirelessly? I’m confused as I’m not sure if the Core got wireless function. Thanks.

With help from my younger and thinner brother-in-law, I routed my NACA-5 through holes in the floor, around the crawl space under my house, and back up into my speakers. The snake farm behind my racks (yeah, I know), is diminished by 3/4. I guess I was hoping for more. The only change I've noticed is that there is less attack on the leading edge of notes and vocals. Has anyone had similar experience? FWIW, the slot in a standard American toggle switch plate accommodates NACA-5 beautifully...

I've had an Atom now for 4 months or so and pairing it with some Neat Iotas. First of all, despite some market griping about functionality, software etc I must say mine has been performing flawlessly from day one - no glitches or hitches and does exactly what I want it to do - this said, my set-up is very simple and I can imagine there will be users who demand more and who also are infinitely more tech savvy than me and have other requirements . My room is about 30X12 feet and the speakers...
