The part of the ARO where the counterweigh is mounted - the little tube, is kinda easy to rotate on my ARO. Is is suppose to? Did mount the Skale (from Tiger Paw), and this is a tight fit.

Hello fellow Naimees. I recently took the plunge and bought an ex demo XS 2 to replace an ageing Marantz PM6004 and although fairly happy with the sound it just gets a bit edgy and bright at higher volumes. My question is how long should you realistically give this piece of hi fi wonder to fully burn in? The shop I bought it from could not give me an exact period it was used for as they have many other amps and equipment constantly on demo but the unit is not that old as it came with a 5...

Hello, and happy new ear's eve, everyone :) So I was contemplating the idea of switching from my 172 xs to a 202 + napsc (on nap200) and using some cheap streamer in the meantime, until i can budget for a sh Naim Dac. Would it be worth it? I can't demo the Naim Dac, so I was wondering how it compared to the 172, which I am currently running through a 202 I have on home dem. I'ts only been 2 days. and I like some of the things the 202 does, but on some stuff I think I prefer the 172. I won't...

Hi Can anyone please inform me how good are the Dab/FM modules that can be fitted to various Naim products. I currently have a Arcam T32 tuner and was wondering how the Naim modules compare against the Arcam. Looking in near future to purchase Nova or 272 and whether to buy with Dab/FM module or without and keep Arcam. Thanks for any advice.

I have the opportunity to buy a pair of PSB SDA SRS2 at a bargain price. However, they require a "common ground" amp. Is the NAP 180 common ground? Cheers, Hamish

Following another recent thread I was wondering if anyone had had a NON DR Nap 300 (or any Nap) serviced by Naim or at Class A and if so what were the improvements? PLEASE NOTE: Having the 300 DR'd is not possible financially at this time. I am fully aware that this would of course be optimal but unfortunately I do not have the spare funds to do so . I also have a 282 that needs a service and a Supercap so that just about all I can deal with in the next 6 months or so. Thank you again for...

I am soon to extend a centre speaker cable so I have around 7m (2x3.5 of NACA), and soldering together is cheaper than buying new cable - especially as this is spare. Having said that, it must be obvious the connection conductivity is significantly affected by the solder. Has anyone got tips on what to get? Surely dealers or manufacturers solder with banana plugs, so what do they use?? Cheers

Hi All, Current system is 32.5/HiCap/Nap140 & PMC Twenty 21's, looking to move to SBL's to complete my system. My question is will the NAP140 drive the SBL's or do I go down the NAP250 route then SBL's. Thanks in advance for all feedback. Gurbinder

Hello all With the New Year here I am looking at upgrading my very modest Naim system. At present I have a CD5, NAC202, NASP, Flatcap2, NAP150x. KEF Q5’s. I think I need some better speakers. Where should I turn to match my system. I have like located a set of reasonably priced Intro2’s I believe. Would they sound better? I know it is all relative But I value this forums opinions. Thanks.

Hi everyone, newbie to the forum but I've had a modest Naim system for years. Just updated the pre-amp to a 282, which I have powered from a single Hi-Cap. I also have a Flatcap2, which is currently only used to power a Headline. Now theoretically, I think I could use the Flatcap to power the second supply on the 282 (upgrade 2) whilst leaving the Hi-Cap powering upgrade 1. But I'm worried that this will cause some sort of hideous earth loop and start blowing things up. So, any thoughts on...

Hi guys A technical question: can NAC 282 be powered off an Olive HiCap? Cheers, Adam PS The reason behind the question is: I need to loan my current HiCap DR to a friend to test. I have a re-capped Olive HiCap which I could to use to power my current set in the meantime (282 / HiCapDr / NAP 250DR). It's a stop-gap solution, just to have some music playing over the weekend.

How would you compare the nac72 to the pre section of the sn2?

Dear folks, May I seek your experienced and professional advice on how to choose a musical vinyl turnable? I have no knowledge of it and need your advice and experience. Your sharing is highly appreciated. Thanks, Patrick

This is the second phase of my upgrade plan, the first having been to add an XPS-DR to my 272. That upgrade was nothing less than spectacular. So anyone out there who is still unsure of the value of adding an external psu to a streamer, I can tell you quite categorically it makes for a huge improvement. My 200DR is now on its way to its new owner, and I await delivery of an ex-demo 250DR...hopefully tomorrow. I felt that my PMC Twenty 23's needed a bit more ooomph behind them, and so I'm...

Hi Everyone, I am new to this site and new to naim products. I'm in the US, and would like to know if anyone can help me out with a couple of questions I have about the Nova and the speakers I plan to run it with. I am in the process of buying a Nova and already have a pair of CM6 S2s. My first question is will they be a good fit for Nova in general ?They are being run in a smallish size room. My second question is involving cables. I have pair of pair of AudioQuest Rocket 44's that I have...

Naim IT Department will be upgrading our Network and Servers 5th to 8th January They will be performing maintenance to the Naim IT infrastructure this weekend. There will be no access to any IT\Telephone systems from 6pm this evening remotely or on-site. We will endeavour to ensure all systems are running smoothly by Monday morning. left of field questions! I have an NDS / 555 DR with 252/SC DR powered by 300 DR driving Allaes. I am having isobariks updated/refurbed. Room is narrow (about 22 by about 13) so speaker placement tricky. I am thinking of going to 552 DR rather than buying new speakers but wonder if it is overkill. Your help, please? I like both the Allaes and the isobariks but wonder if they will be too much of a limiting factor. Also, what about a 555 DR instead of the 552 power supply?

On behalf of a friend , considering an Atom. Should the speaker cables be a minimum length, as other Naim amps. Bob F

Happy new year to all. Could someone give me some pointers with an issue im having. when selecting iradio and other inputs. It will display the station for 2-3 seconds and then the display switches to clock. I have been through the digital manual for setup and can only find...

All, I am sending my circa 2002 vintage 252 off to Naim for a reccap this month. I am considering sending the supercap at the same time for either a recap or a recap/DR mod. Searching the forum in earnest, there are really very few description of the extent that upgrading a Supercap to a DR version improves the 252. it's a quite expensive upgrade, so I am seeking comments from those who have done this upgrade if they felt if there was VFM ( if that even makes sense in the context of this...

Hi Peeps Thinking about changing the MM Exact 2 cart in my Rega 2017 Planar 6. The reasoning behind this is my ancient Pioneer Legato Link CD player is beating the TT hands down for openness, soundstage and dynamics. I'm pretty sure the high output MC type carts like the Dynavector 10x5 are the way to go....taking advantage of the onboard 522 phono boards on my Nait 3. I've been advised that using low output carts is a no no with the Nait because of interference from the mains transformer.
