Dear Forum, just had a further interesting listen session with the new uniti line nova and star. After hearing the both last week and after ordering the star I've got some doubt if the made decission was really right and the nova would not be the better choice to the star. It has to be, because the nova should be better due to the ranking of the new line???? At the first listening session I've got the impression that the star was nearer to the music for me. Something new from iFi. Can consider putting this on the same power distributor to prevent surge and clean up the power. Hopefully it does not suck the PRAT out of Naim though.

Good evening all. I was after a bit of advice. I'm starting a new job in January which will mean being away from Monday - Friday, I will be back every weekend. My question is, should I turn off all my naim units and then turn back on when I get home Friday night? The first time the laser died, was three years after purchase from new. I repaired it. Now, after four more years, it started producing very distorted sound during playback. I use an NDS which is fed remotely (in a garden room, linked by ethernet) by an HDX. Would there be any benefit in adding a power supply to the HDX? If so, what do you recommend as proportionate?

My combo : sn2+ndac+ndx Wish to upgrade the system with ps Should I 555ps the dac connected to the ndx and not ps the sn2? or, also ps the sn2 with hicup/supercap?

Does anyone here have a suggestion for my problem? AV in is connected to AV receiver's front pre-outs bu RCA. Link plug removed. AV bypass switch ON. However no sound, no lights on Naim. I also have a Flatcap XS which works perfectly with Nait alone. When I leave it connected to Nait as is and switch to AV input with the AV receiver connected, then there is always sound but Nait switches between no volume control (power amp mode) and integrated amp mode (volume knob light comes on and off...

hi all, What kind of fluid is best used to clean the connectors of my interconnect, Snaic and loudspeaker connectors. Can I use the sprays typically used to clean glasses and TV screens or do I need to use something specific? iver

Just got a SuperNait 2 and I tuned the balance by listening to the music for now but how exactly do you know if it's in the middle position? I can see by the light it's about in the middle but the knob doesn't indicate in any way that you reached the middle.

The case on my 202 (2011 build) is rough on top bottom and sides with a flat sheen. I have owned many Naim pieces that were much smoother . I am wondering if it is stock. Any ideas?

Hi all, For a number of months I have been thinking on replacing my beloved NAC152XS/NAP150XS/FlatCapXS/ND5XS system with one that delivers a bit more authority, detail and punch. Last week i finally took the plunge for a set of speaker cable. Needing at least 2 x 7m the cost was not easy to digest. However the opportunity of an ex demo one, made the deal much more bearable. Popped over to see the gents at Basically Sound yesterday for their Naim event. On demonstration was the Nova and the Focal Kanta - I have to say as a combo they sounded very impressive. The Nova looked and sound very nice and the Kanta’s were particularly impressive - wide sound stage and lovely detail. Appreciate not all will like the looks, (yellow / blue ones have a hint of being Transformers! ) but in the flesh they looked very “70’s” cool but colour selection will be an individual...

...are noticeably better than jumper cables. Following received wisdom, I tried replacing the jumper bars with TQB cables and the results were quite disappointing. I notice the proac bars are flat to the face and convex to the back, which gives them a very solid & tight interface with the ‘speaker terminals. My direct connection is both + & - to the high frequency terminals. With the jumper leads the hf got a little ragged & less well integrated. G
