I have bought my source products being Nap 100 & Dac V1 and now need the forum's help on speaker selection. My room is 6m x 5m with the speakers to be positioned on the 5m wall. I would prefer flloorstanding speakers. I am initially looking to audition PMC Twenty 23 and Neat Motive SX1 or SX2. Would be willing to look at second hand speakers as well. I have a nice system - Audiolab 8200CD mainly used as a DAC from laptop, NAC202 / NAPS-C2 /Hi Cap DR, NAP155XS into Kudos C2 speakers. I bought a used, recently serviced NAP200 as it's the 'natural partner' for the preamp. Yes it's better than the 155XS in some ways (bass, fuller sound) but it's too smooth, so rock just sounds soft with no edge. This is partly caused by my age (nearly 60) so my hearing is tailing off. To get the NAP 200 to sound good I have to turn it way up to 10 o'clock...

What is the minimum speaker impedance that can be used with this unit. The reason I ask is that I am thinking of pairing it with some speakers that drop to 3 ins between 150 to 1000 hz.

Which vinyl album do you use as a test album to finetune VTF cartridge?

Hi There, Do any of you checked an UPS unit as a solution for transformer hum buzz ( polluted electricity is the issue for sure) ? Does it degradate the sound from naim? DC blocker helps but destroys the sound. Did any of you got use to the hum buzz after some time? Many thanks for any help with the problem, Cheers, Slawek

It looks like I have decided on the above Contour S 3.4's as replacement for my X32's. I'm going to have a listen to them on Sunday and make a final choice they are the original 3.4's not the recent LE variant so if they ended up coming home I'll do a small review.

Currently running a nac202 with hicap and napsc2 with a stage line for my DV20x2. the stage line is powered via aux2 socket and sounds really great but was wondering if putting a hicap on the stage line would bring much of an improvement ?

Hi Folks I have just sold my old 90/92 and replaced with Nait XS (not XS 2) and bought a stageline which is connected through Nait for power supply. I have a Flatcap 2 powering my CD 5 at the moment. Q's Is there any benefit in powering the stageline from the FC rather than the Nait? I am led to believe I will need to buy another interconnect to do the above with a 5 pin/4 pin configuration? These are about another £120.00 so a) is this correct and b) is it worth doing? Any straightforward...
