I have just recently purchased an a 5 din cable in order to listen to my TV through my hi fi. I have a Naim 202 PRE AMP AND A 200 POWER AMP. Can anyone advise me how to set this up as I have been following the manual and getting nowhere. Cheers Gavin

Have naim stopped producing speakers

Hello, I’m planning to install dedicated mains for my system. I read a few threads regarding this kind of installation. Some invest quite an amount: gold plated fuses, special cables, rhodium plated wall sockets (which is strange because rhodium is a poor conductor), etc. My question is the following: Should I let my electrician use the standard gear (wall socket, cables, mcd) or should I choose specific gear like Furutech wall-sockets etc. ? Considering that what we want is “clean”...

Hi I decided to changfe my XS to and XS2. Bought from a well known web site. On arrival it is in an XS2 box but just shows as XS on rear. The serial number is 290787 - which is back to 2010 on Naim check list. Have I been done? Appreciate any comments. Many thanks

Has anyone had a demo of the uniti star yet, if so what speakers did you try, also can you run a phono stage with the star with other phono stages apart from naims own ones ?

Just bought a used Nait 5i to go with my CD5i, everything sounds quite good except when connecting the two with the SNAIC that came with my CD5i when bought 10 years ago no sound is outputted. No problem when connecting via RCA. Am i missing something (interna jumper switch for instance) or is there a problem with the amp/CDP/cable? Thanks, Seb

I am looking at possibly upgrading my system. I have a Naim 5i V2 integrated, Rega DAC R and Sonus Faber Venere 2.0 speakers (I will not be changing the speakers). I love my system and I do not find it lacking. I also find that the components have great synergy together. But, I wouldn't mind making it even better. I am not looking to change the sound, but rather keep the same style of sound, and make it even better. I love the Naim sound, and the Rega sound as well. I can buy either the Naim...

Hi guys, I am new here around but not in Naim, or I think so... I have opportunuity to buy a second-hand nac82 but this piece has a white back panel and there are no marks. I askd the seller about this and he has answerd me that there are a two versions of nac 82: with black back panel and white. Until now, I have never saw somthig like that, but maybe there is a reasonable explanation. What do you think? Cheers Shone

Just collected 272/250 connected everything up and what do you know - everything working perfectly - and it sounds tremendous. I wanted to thank everyone for all the help and advice. I didn't think I would take the plunge into the streaming pool but so far so good. Also great support from my dealer and my better half who knows her way round a computer. My office and supporting network gear is wired with UPS protected power sockets. Today, our house cleaner plugged the vacuum cleaner into a UPS socket. Finally making it back into the Naim game with great excitement. It's been about 3 years since I reluctantly sold my Nait5i and CD5i. It was the first time I heard Naim and the first time I heard such a great synergy with a combo since my Rotel RA-1062 and RCD-1072. Dear all, unfortunately I do not have the possibility to place my black boxes on a dedicated Hi-Fi rack. I have to place them on the furniture already used for TV and other stuff. The furniture is quite big (L 2100 H 520mm D 480mm) made of wood, stable and also full of big books to limit the resonance. I was thinking to use an additional base like bambù and put three soundcare spikes below. Do you have any placement experience with CDX2.2 with additional plate, spikes, eg…?

Can anyone tell me a few basics about pre-amp/power amp combinations? I have a NAC202 + NAPSC and am looking to get a NAP200DR or NAP200 in the next few months. 1. Is the NAP200DR likely to provide obvious sound quality improvements over the NAP200? 2. Would adding a HiCap2 (non-DR) make obvious improvements to either option? 3. Would adding a HiCap2 (non-DR) make the NAP200DR option redundant and enable me to save money on the power amp by buying a NAP200 rather than a NAP200DR?

I have acquired a pair of Royd Eden as a temporary speaker whilst I sell mine to raise the funds to upgrade and what a fantastic little speaker I don't even have any decent stands yet they are plonked on top of my floor standers (Mrs Bob is loving that look) I cannot believe a speaker that cost £80 could sound so good on the end of a 282/300. I believe that Linn Kan stands go very well with Edens but they are getting quite expensive and as these are temporary speakers I'm not prepared to pay...

In an earlier thread '282' some one asked is 272/555 better than 282/Supercap? This purely a question about pre amps forgetting box count, what would be the better pre amp? As I have a Hi-fi Racks Ltd solid oak rack, I spent today stripping down my system and tightening all the spikes and rack legs (and dusting!). This meant swapping rack legs around such that the front legs are square to the shelves that they support when the legs are fully tightened. I also swapped the NAP 250 with the 555PS such that the 555PS is now on the bottom shelf of my full-width rack.
